October 2014 - am I the first one here...?

Just got 2 very very (very very very) faint lines. The magical due date doo-dah says 3rd Oct is the magic number. Who knows? It could all go tits up still, but if you, like me, suspect you might be in the early stages it would be nice to chat.

I'll start the list shall I?

Just checked on two other calculators and it's 9th October. Thanks for pointing it out!

I also found this excellent link that tells you on what date you will enter which trimester, how many weeks pregnant you will be on x or y date and other useful info: useful link

PrincessWellington · 15/02/2014 22:57

Hello. Room for a little one? EDD 12/10
Dc4 after 6 year gap

FlipFantasia · 16/02/2014 00:04

Tak1ing I used to use IVF.ca's due date calculator (can't link as on my phone) - egg collection counts as 'ovulation day' so add 14 days into that to get your 'lmp' equivalent date (since downregging & stimming throws all that off!). I do think pregnology is interesting though!

Finally finished a meal tonight - sausages & mash (a dish which doesn't seem to exist in the US, poor America!). Have lost a few pounds due to being unable to stomach anything bar Rice Krispies...was nice to have a change!

Now cleaning the house as in laws are arriving tomorrow. And I have barely lifted a finger tidying/cleaning wise in weeks so the place is a tip. Exciting sat night here!

FlipFantasia · 16/02/2014 00:05

Welcome princess Wellington!

TroubleAndFyfe · 16/02/2014 00:21

Wow, welcome and congratulations newbies! Smile
I got my scan date through today - 28th March (I will be 12+3) very exciting! Haven't had a booking appointment yet.

queenasanti3 · 16/02/2014 01:21

Havent been on here for a few days just had to read back through a few pages to catch up,
Wow congratulations to everyone on there BFP, and so sorry for all those who have mc.

Bingo, do you remember me from the conception forum we was due af on the same day ?? Well I just wanted to say iam so happy that you have still made it into the October thread congrats when are u due x

IR - my little one was just 5 months when we found out I was pregnant so there will be a 14 month age gap between them, iam nervous but excited.

Nxt scan is on wed think I will be 7 weeks, fx we get to see a heartbeat, only had one really bad day of nausea to the point I found myself hugging the toilet, glad thats gone away.

iam going to have to keep logged on to this, its such a busy thread, wishing everyone luck over the nxt few weeks x

SweetPeaPods · 16/02/2014 02:32

Just had a good catch up of thread. Sorry for those that have mc if your still reading.
There is a couple of us with small age gaps, I'm freaking out slightly. Ds is 8m and although a good baby he has really regressed in the sleep dept. trying to keep thinking of the benefits of a small gap though!
We have a scan next week at the recurrent mc clinic so I'll be 6+2 roughly and our appt has through with mw too in March for booking in appt. makes it all feel a bit real.
Anyone suffering from bad sickness, don't let it get too bad. I've already started on my cyclizine.

mrsb87 · 16/02/2014 07:47

Hi sweetpea ive been really bad sickness wise, on my 4th typevofcmeds but started on cyclizine, didn't fine it worked for me. I'm on metoclopramide now

Pickofthepops · 16/02/2014 08:01

With ds I was sick from 6 wks through till giving birth. Was admitted several times. The little round pill you keep under your tongue didn't help / sto -... Something. Don't think the two you're mentioning did either. Need to get round and get something that works or looking after a full on 6 yr old in half term is going to be v difficult.

Had midwife appt thurs just gone but the hosp I asked GP to refer me too is a different nhs area so I do booking in with them on Thursday this week.

Mrsthedog · 16/02/2014 10:31

Anyone else having really vivid dreams at the moment? Not necessarily anxiety dreams but really cool ones. I dreamt last night (amongst other things) that the film Pitch Perfect was made into a Lego Movie.

We have got our scan date through - 7th April. Seems a bit late as I will be almost 13 weeks then. Still, just got to hang on until then.

I am currently resisting the urge to poas as I am in the stage of being pre-morning sickness and I have got used to the cramping. (5+5 today) Want to make sure my little bumblebee is still there :)

puppythedog · 16/02/2014 10:51

Bumblebee? Mrsthedog would like to apologise for referring to our babytobe as a bumblebee. She says it made her a bit queasy to be so sickly.

Good morning to you all on the thread, mrsb87 glad some meds are making some difference (if I understood that correctly).

Welcome newbies (i'm the only fella here so i try to just lek most of the time).

I did tell my colleagues, it was lovely, they're great.

KensalM2B · 16/02/2014 13:22

One more to the party! I'm a newbie with my 1st due on 17th October after a years effort (we were given a 15% prognosis based on hubby's sperm test and were just about to try IUI). So so so excited and a little terrified. Really happy to find you all on here.

Seems like many of you have the same symptoms - crazy tiredness and period-like cramps. My tiredness really only kicked in last few days but feels like a I've been hit by a brick!

Any tips on keeping energy up? I'm eating really well and exercising regularly... Any advice welcome!

MrsF2510 · 16/02/2014 13:27

Welcome kensel! So pleased for you and your hubby. X

Bumpforme2014 · 16/02/2014 13:57

Happy Sunday everyone, welcome Kensal I would welcome some advice myself felt rough again this morning even after a lie in, dragged myself out the house for a few hours only to feel exhausted and come back. Just purchased a maternity bra as boobs getting more sore by the day, they are sooo comfy.

magichandles · 16/02/2014 14:14

Afternoon everyone, and welcome to the new ones!

I'm still only 4+4 but I'm starting to feel pretty tired, we took DCs 1 & 2 to the Science Museum this morning and I was planning on going shopping afterwards on my own, but I just couldn't face it.

My boobs are sore and starting to fill out as well, with DC2 I reckon my boobs filled out to the size they were when I gave birth to DC1 by about 8 weeks, so I'm expecting that again.

Other than that the only real symptoms I'm having are a few twinges and cramps (nothing terrible) and some serious bloating.

Bunnygirlie · 16/02/2014 14:21

Hello, room for one more?

EDD 2nd Oct, first child after 2 years of trying, had IVF ICSI over new year.

Had early scan (dildocam) last week and saw a teeny flashing blob on the screen, amazing!

Feeling rough as hell!

MrsF2510 · 16/02/2014 14:57

Of course bunny - welcome! And congrats, must feel amazing (the being pregnant after 2 yrs ttc and seeing the scan, not the feeling rough)!

Bumpforme2014 · 16/02/2014 15:10

How you feeling F2510? I'm not getting any cramps which seems odd as everyone else is getting them. Just had a nap :) thank god for weekends!

pebble82 · 16/02/2014 17:03

I'm starting to doubt I'm actually pregnant today. No nausea, not too tired (at the moment), no cramps. Just normal!

Obviously this means I'm fretting - completely irrational I know!

Feel so sorry for all of you not feeling great and honestly wouldn't wish to switch places - I just wish we had some sort of indicator on us to be able to check every now and again that all is OK. Like a green light in the belly button or something.

Roll on the next 6-7 weeks!

Oh and big hello to the newbies - Congrats!

BingoBango85 · 16/02/2014 17:07

#queen, yay I made it. Let's hope it's a keeper! Edd 26th oct.

Well I think I successfully managed my entire engagement party last night without anyone noticing I was on the water! Felt like I was going to vomit the whole night-but braved it out! Tummy was so sore by the end of the night tho.

So I made a drs app for next week. I think I'm about 4 wks. Any 2nd time mums know what happens next, other appointments etc...?

Bingo it slightly varies depending on area but generally you should meet your midwife around 9/10 wks for a booking appt. basically loads of paperwork, you let them know your preference for hospital (you can change at later stage if wish). They measure your height, weight, bp, ursine sample. You should get a copy of the nice guidelines which states when you should see mw etc.
then scan at around 12 weeks this is your dating scan. then mw again at 16 wks where you might be able to hear heartbeat. Scan again at 20 wks and so on...

CareBearWithFangs · 16/02/2014 19:15

Hello newbies. Hopes everyone's not feeling too rough. I am rubbish at keeping secrets. We have now told my best friend, my mum, DP's mum and my sister and brother. It feels more really every time I tell someone.

Tips for more energy - hmm apparently apples are good. I always give DD an apple in the afternoon when she starts to get sleepy (but won't nap). And lots of water.

Me23 · 16/02/2014 19:22

Just realised I haven't added myself to the list yet, sorry can't add anyone else as I'm on my phone and it would take forever.

bingo you don't actually need to see your gp as most hospitals now accept self referrals for antenatal care go to the website of hospital you are choosing and you will usually be able to find a form online (if they do this) your 1st midwife appt usually takes place between 8-12 weeks and consist of the midwife taking an in depth medical history and go ring you advice about healthy eating/exercise and also some blood test to check for blood group, hb level, std's rubella status, glucose and electrophoresis.) you will also be invited for a 1st scan and screening for Down's syndrome between 11-14 weeks, the next me appt will then be at 16 weeks.

sorry to hear that and thinking of her - have removed her. Thanks Tiny
