That's so cute, Piña! Congratulations on a lovely scan.

What was your date before?

wejammin · 22/01/2014 18:46

Marking my place.

So sad to hear of the recent losses but also lovely to hear of the happy scans. Mine is tomorrow at 3 50pm. Am a bag of nerves. I've booked the day off and I'm going to have my hair cut in the morning for something to do, then DH is taking me out for pizza.

Hope we're not waiting too long at the hospital though, I have to pick DS up from nursery at 5 30.

lucyfluff · 22/01/2014 18:55

Great news pina Smile glad all is well with baby x

OveranxiousUnderated · 22/01/2014 19:01

Lovely to hear about the positive scan stories Thanks

I did get added onto the stats list but for some reason I have disappeared again...please would someone mind adding me on again if they get chance Smile

OveranxiousUnderated - 25, Dc2, 4th August

2 days until scan...who were the other two ladies who have theirs on Friday too?

I have just taken paracetamol for a killer headache and think I will be asleep shortly Brew

That's good, Piña. Baby is obviously growing well. :-)

Travis, your scan is Monday, isn't it? Who else was with us?

travispickles · 22/01/2014 19:44

I can't remember . Was it jenbee? Mine is 10am thankfully.

Feelingfatty · 22/01/2014 19:54

Bit of advice if anyone has bad back ache I have been suffering badly last few weeks and today was horrendous which was making sickness worse. I have gone out and bought those heat pad things and taken some paracetamol (both advised by the midwife if it was bad) and literally within an hour of having it on and taking pills it's really improved both pain and nausea! I wish I hadn't soldiered on for so long!

Anyway good luck for the scans tomorrow ladies!! Thanks

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 19:57

I'm 11, Travis. Just want it done and over so I can move forwards. I swing from worried to optimistic and back again. I'm doing my own head in. :-/

travispickles · 22/01/2014 20:08

Me too. Such a pita. Just want to know all is ok. And it doesn't matter how many people tell you it will all be fine!

Shakshuka · 22/01/2014 20:09

No snow day over here :( Ten inches of snow and top temp of -8 plus nasty wind but school's on and the office is open. All the suburban schools shut but NYC schools are hard core. Partly because of decent public transport but also because of the poverty - they really hesitate to shut schools because they are a lifeline for many kids. My kids looked like mini michelin men when they went to the bus this morning. Lucky because the poor things (plus dh) waited 45 minutes for a bus that never appeared.

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow. Feeling a bit nervous because I'm still spotting on and off. I wish it'd stop! But I had a scan at 10+4 where all was OK. I know something can go wrong at any point (in fact, all through life as well -you never stop worrying!) so it's not completely reassuring especially with the spotting.

CountdownBegins · 22/01/2014 20:13

Great news on today's scans! Shak hope yours goes ok tomorrow and that there is no more snow for you!

Hungry I'm on Monday too- not until 4pm so I'll be a nervous wreck all day!

Is anyone else getting bad headaches? I usually get sinus headaches and swear by sudafed tablets so really struggling on just paracetamol.

BunnyBaby · 22/01/2014 20:24

Yay, great news on the scans, and I'm sure you'll be fine tomorrow too shak :-)

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 20:28

No, I hate being told it'll all be fine, Travis! If we knew that I wouldn't be worrying.

I'd have sent myself mad by 4pm, Countdown. I had the 9am slot for both scans last time. I preferred that!

I've had a few awful headaches and also find paracetamol a touch toothless. But nothing else we can so really. :-/

Good luck tomorrow, Shak. Your schools are pretty hardcore. It's commendable really. If tricky to get there!

Secretlypregnant · 22/01/2014 20:39

Overanxious I've got mine on Friday too. So have 2beornot and babyspice. So that's four of us - anyone else?

Good luck to everyone with a scan tomorrow! Is that Shakshuka, Jenbee1 and wejammin?

I have felt like hell on earth all day, but it's my own fault. I worked until half three this morning to get a story to the publisher that was due in last week. Went to bed feeling sick and headachy, and woke up feeling even worse. All I could do was gather all our stuff up, pile DD in the car and go over to my mum's. She was brilliant and looked after DD while I had a ridiculously long bath and then slept.

I'm a night owl and have pulled all-nighters before, but I just can't do it any more. I have to be able to function the next day. Feeling vagely delirious in the bath, I made a deal with my body that if it would make the baby OK and stop me feeling sick, I would stop working late in the evening.

Hope it works!

OveranxiousUnderated · 22/01/2014 20:44

Thanks for adding me to the list, Pina Smile

Ahh, hopefully we will all have good news secretlypregnant - What time is your scan?

X

Secretlypregnant · 22/01/2014 20:48

Mine's at 1.50.

Last time I drank so much water I couldn't walk properly. They made me empty some out because my bladder was so enormous it was squishing the baby!

I will have more sense this time. Hopefully.

OveranxiousUnderated · 22/01/2014 21:00

Ahh mines at 2pm so we will be being scanned most likely at the same time...Eek.

I always always always drink too much and then practically wee myself, having to go and empty my bladder before I get into the scan room. (I have had a lot of scans in the past 18 months) So I am going to try and drink a little less than it says because I just don't have the bladder for it!

X

Jenbee1 · 22/01/2014 21:04

Yes, it's my scan tomorrow, 2.25. Flu jab in the morning and blood in the afternoon, I'll be a bruised pin cushion by dinner Smile

mssleepyhead · 22/01/2014 21:07

Congratulations all on all the LOVELY scan news. I can't believe I'm still 3 and a half weeks away from mine - time's going so slowly! Looking forward to hearing more good news from tomorrow's scan gang : )

mssleepyhead · 22/01/2014 21:21

ps. total hunger tonight. just eaten a massive bowl of pasta and cream, followed by two slices of toast. currently fighting the urge to eat more toast. and more toast. will regret it later!

BunnyBaby · 22/01/2014 21:32

Ahh sleepy was just thinking the same, weeks to go, we're due date buddies!

I know what you mean about the eating urges. Tonight I managed to get home with no snack, a week ago I demolished two sandwiches en route home as just needed cheese! Though I have had rather too many percy pigs today too.

OP posts:
mssleepyhead · 22/01/2014 21:59

isn't it rubbish, bunny?? to make it even worse, i'm being scanned at 13 weeks, not 12, so it's an even longer wait!

BunnyBaby · 22/01/2014 22:12

I haven't even got a date yet Hmm perhaps I get the scan date at the 2nd booking in appointment on the 31st Jan.. we'll see..

I'm getting big already, a combination of cheese, and 'my body seems to "know" to pop out already'. i'm a stealthy dresser of a thick waist, but still think I'll be outed at work before 12 weeks..
