Feelingfatty · 22/01/2014 14:04

Good luck pina Smile

DreamPhone · 22/01/2014 14:34

Phew, got the thumbs up at my scan today. I feel like a physical weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I couldn't believe how much you can see! We saw it's little arms and hands and from one angle, a little rounded belly with legs poking out underneath!

They were running late and I was in a right state by the time I went in - seriously need to try to relax about it all now. I won't even tell you about the dream I had last night (ok I will, I dreamt that the baby turned into a pizza and my friend ate it while I was out of the room...)

Good luck to all those being scanned today! Keeping fingers and toes firmly crossed for positive outcomes all round Thanks

HungryHorace · 22/01/2014 14:50

That's an awful dream, Dream!

I'm glad all was OK. It's amazing how you don't realise how stressed you are about it until afterwards, isn't it?

Are you going to tell people now?

I just did my last OPK as HPT and the line was seriously dark still. Think I'm feeling a little better now!

babyspice2501 · 22/01/2014 15:05

Well done on your scan dream! And lol to the dream... bit of weird one! Haha!

Feelingfatty · 22/01/2014 15:17

Great news dream!!

DreamPhone · 22/01/2014 15:20

I know, so weird. It's so true - I must have been a bundle of tension the last few weeks, I feel like I'm floating now (although I'm sure that will be short lived - it seems like it's one hurdle after another sometimes doesn't it?). I'm determined to enjoy it and just take it one day at a time from now on.

Yes we're going to start telling people now. Do most people wait to get the results of the combined screening test through first do you think? To be honest, we've told quite a few people already...Confused It was tricky finding out just before Christmas - I don't know what this says about me but the second I order a sparkling water instead of a large red wine our friends just knew. DH has a huge family (he's one of 6!) so we told them all over Christmas and it was nice to have their support. We decided that these were the people we would want to tell anyway even if it all went wrong as we would want their support. Probably the wrong way to do things!

Wish me luck, about to tell my boss in 3, 2 1...

ItsSoFluffyImGonnaDie · 22/01/2014 15:27

Great news on your scan Dream!

We told family at Christmas after having an early scan (I was 8+4 on Christmas Day) and a few friends knew before our 12 week scan. Most of our friends now know (we had our scan last Wednesday) but I've asked my boss not to announce it until I get the letter through from the hospital...I haven't received a call so now waiting for it to arrive, MW said it would be later this week or early next week - argh, hurry up!

How did it go telling your boss?

Feelingfatty · 22/01/2014 15:29

Ah I'm not going to have test so will tell if a goes well at scan. Didn't have test with dd either so not sure if people usually wait for results. Just do what you feels best :) I would tell I'm sure results will be fine! Glad you feel better! My scan is two weeks Monday and can't help be stressed about it! Also feel very poorly today so making the day DRAG!! Good luck with telling your boss!!

flymo79 · 22/01/2014 15:56

oooh DreamPhone, congrats! let us know how it goes telling the boss, I am in two minds about whether to tell mine before a big planning round so they can take it in to account, or whether to see what the end result is of the planning and then see that there's a job for me at the end of it! urgh. Feel a bit sick now!!

babyspice2501 · 22/01/2014 16:33

Good luck telling your boss dream!

DreamPhone · 22/01/2014 16:50

Thanks ladies! All done and it went well - bit of a weird situation because he's actually an old friend of DH. He's very pleased for us and is going to dig out the maternity leave policy docs from the last time someone here had a baby so I can have a read... we're quite a small company (mostly blokes) so it doesn't come up very often!

I asked him to hold off announcing it until we get the test results (not that we would act on them) just for peace of mind.

Ooooo and my due date has changed to 4th August! Getting earlier...

I hope we get lots of lovely good news from everyone over the next few weeks Smile

WeeJo08 · 22/01/2014 16:51

Lucy Next one is on 1st April - so in just under 10 weeks time! Seems ages! Shock I don't know if I'll be able to hold out that long - might get a private one in between...if I can convince DH!! We're heading on holiday on 11th April for two week so I will hopefully be able to relax a bit on holiday.

WeeJo08 · 22/01/2014 16:55

Dreamphone Glad it went well! Telling employers is soooo nerve wracking! I work for myself now and I was very nice to myself about it, even if I do say so Grin But seriously, I dreaded telling my boss 2 years ago. He was fine about it even though it was the third staff member in 10 months to fall pregnant!! And this was after 20+ years of it never happening (mostly male staff).

babyspice2501 · 22/01/2014 17:04

Glad it went well dream! :)

Lol weejo!! 'Nice to yourself' haha made me laugh! :) where are you going on holiday? I desperately feel like I need one. And anywhere too! You know when you just feel like you need a break from everyday life and surroundings? Yep thats me! Lol

flymo79 · 22/01/2014 17:05

phew - am pleased for you dream. I think I'll put it off for a while, my boss is so stressed at the moment I don't want to inadvertantly kick something off that forces him to think about restructuring!!

Feelingfatty · 22/01/2014 17:08

Oh god this has been the worse day for feeling poorly so far...I know I shouldn't moan as we've had awful news but honestly I feel so poorly today I could cry, someone give me a virtual slap please!!!

DreamPhone · 22/01/2014 17:16

Flymo It's tricky that whole re-structuring business isn't it? I have precisely no expertise in this area but I wonder if they were thinking of having a re-jig, it might perhaps work in your favour if they knew because then they can build it into their plans and also the thought of making a pregnant woman redundant might ring HR alarm bells!

It's a tricky one though, I'm sure plenty have been shafted by their companies, which seems very short sighted when you think that it's only going to be a year max.

I'm more worried about going back to work to be honest - it's a one hour commute each way and long office hours which won't be very compatible with nursery. Not to mention that my wages will most likely = the childcare bill but I think we'll cross that bridge when we come to it! Smile

BunnyBaby · 22/01/2014 17:27

Congrats Dream great news!

How bizarre are pregnancy dreams? Last night I dreamt I was having a fling with the PM?! How weird, don't even fancy him in real life .. odd, odd, odd ..
