Great scan news countdown Smile and good luck to everyone today having scans.

Feeling so sick this morning cant decide what to eat for brekkie!!

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 28/01/2014 09:38

Good luck to everyone having scans today!

I'm definitely feeling much less sick than I was, even though it's still there a bit - I'm 11+5, for anyone counting down the days until their sickness goes!

Flymo - I picked my username because I like all three but at the moment I'm really not liking cheese (the same happened when I was pregnant with DD) and obviously not drinking wine! So just the bread for now Smile

Polkadot1 · 28/01/2014 09:39

Hi ladies,
I hope you are all well, I've missed a thread and a half, so I have probably missed lots of good scan news (hopefully there's not been much bad news). I hope you're all starting to feel better.
I'm back from Gran Canaria, had a lovely holiday, and almost forgot I was pregnant I was so chilled (except not being able to drink, sample the seafood etc!). I actually felt guilty last night for not worrying. As I had my scan this morning, and hoped by not worrying about it, meant it would be ok, and my chilled outness, not come back to bite me on the bum.
Anyway, the little one was jumping and dancing, and put his/ her hand up to the mouth- v cute. They've changed my due date to 8th Aug (when I get to a computer I'll add myself on). The nuchal measurement was fine. Had the blood test for the Downs risk, which will take about a week to come back, so I think we will only have to keep it secret for another week!
I've bought a "I'm going to be a big brother" tee shirt for DS.
I'm sure my mum must have guessed on holiday- no booze, loo trips every hour, looking podgy in my swimsuit, bit out of breath carrying 11kg DH! But she didn't say if so.
Xx

I didn't think in the waiting room was the best idea. I'm hungry now so gonna have lunch now then it's not a problem Grin
I've wondered a couple of times if I've felt it move but i think it.s more likely to be wind with me!! Blush

WeeJo08 · 28/01/2014 11:29

Morning ladies, hope scans go well today! I found this thread last week and I've been meaning to post it on here for you all to read - I think it's so lovely though it did make me well up a lot! Blush www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/a1972628-What-do-you-KNOW-you-ll-miss-once-your-dc-are-older

jessplussomeonenew · 28/01/2014 12:55

Thanks for posting that link Weejo, as this is DC1 it's easy to focus on the sleepless nights and exhaustion and the general feeling of "help, the life I knew is coming to an end". And I know all that's true - but it's nice (especially when lying on the sofa feeling sick and exhausted) to read about some of the lovely things to come too! Come along little person, keep growing as I can't wait to meet you!

Ruggle · 28/01/2014 13:17

DuPain, you are lucky! I'm 11+5 today as well but have already thrown up 3 times today...and I mean full on projectile vom.
Having to take the day off work. My boss is going to be sooo pissed off

nyldn · 28/01/2014 13:51

hi all! after waiting for NIPT results and the all clear, I'd love to join the group! I'm 34, this will be my first and I'm due 1st Aug.

NameToBeDecided · 28/01/2014 14:13

Yay all is well at my scan, I don't think I realised how worried I was. New due date of 5 aug so 13 weeks today, I'll try and update the list in a minute.
Hope the other scans went well?

NameToBeDecided · 28/01/2014 14:13

Welcome nyldn

NameToBeDecided · 28/01/2014 14:19

Oh Confused I've managed to copy the list on my phone but can't work out how to paste. Can someone do it for me please? sorry.
I'm 32, dc2 due 5 aug
thanks!

HungryHorace · 28/01/2014 14:26

Excellent news, Name. I felt the same yesterday...huge weight lifted!

If you press and hold in the text box you'll get the paste option. I can't do it with DD on my lap!

onion19632 · 28/01/2014 14:27

Has anyone else been suffering with headaches? I have one which started yesterday that just won't go away. Been taking paracetamol, but still suffering Sad

Shakshuka · 28/01/2014 14:29

Carrying your 11 kg DH polkadot Grin Sounds like you had a great holiday and fabulous news on your scan.

Congrats too NTBD and good luck to all the others still to have scans.

I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten ruggle. Is there anything you can take? If I were still in NW London, I'd definitely have joined your group! I don't think there's anything like NCT here in NYC, at least I haven't come across it.

I found slings were the easiest for getting around on public transport. Buses aren't too bad if you don't have to fold the pushchair but I hated having to rely on strangers to help me up and down stairs on the tube. People have always offered but I always worried about nutters or someone with good intentions but a bad back or something like that. Once the baby is a bit bigger and doesn't need to recline fully you can get those super light buggies with a strap. I used to pick dd up with one arm and have the buggy over my shoulder How are things with you now flymo?

Has the bleeding stopped now weejo?

Welcome nyldn. How long did it tkae you to get the NIPT results? I had my blood taken a week ago so hoping to get the results soon.

i had to let my insurance company know that I'm pregnant. The woman on the phone asked me if I'm having a vaginal birth or a cesarean!! What? I'm 12 weeks pregnant! Now I got a letter saying that I'm authorised to have a vaginal birth. The system here is beyond bizarre.

NameToBeDecided · 28/01/2014 14:43

Hungry I tried that, I get a little blue arrow type thing but no options to paste like I did when I copied, think my phone's having a funny 5 minutes, I'll try again later.
The relief is indescribable!

HungryHorace · 28/01/2014 14:53

I'm on my phone now :-)

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 28/01/2014 15:00

Poor you Ruggle, hope it stops soon! I have had a few moments today but only retching, not actual being sick, which is definitely an improvement! Still finding food smells a bit iffy but not as bad as before (which means I can't leave DH to do all the cooking any more!).

nyldn · 28/01/2014 15:11

shakshuka - I had blood taken the 16th and results back yesterday. it had to be sent to the U.S. and the MLK Jr. holiday was in there so it was 6 working days. are you in the States? I have friends there who have gotten their results as quickly as 3 days.

WeeJo08 · 28/01/2014 15:13

You're welcome Jess - I thought it was such a lovely thread, made me really happy (well, and teary!) People will always want to make negative comments and they'll do it under the "I'm just preparing you because nobody told me" excuse, but having a baby and being a Mummy (or a parent) is the most amazing thing you'll ever do. Yes, there's tough bits, but the lovely bits outweigh them by about a million to one. My DD will be 14 months on Saturday and she is amazing - at the moment she thinks it's really funny to imitate me when I cough (I have a cold at the moment) and she thinks it is the most hilarious thing in the world...so do I! Grin

Shak Yes, the bleeding has stopped - in fact, it had stopped by the time we left the hospital yesterday morning! I'm obviously still on knicker watch and toilet trips are still a bit anxious but I do feel better knowing about the erosion (or ectropian, as they call it). Thank you for asking x

Ruggle Completely agree with Shak about the sling - we lived in London when DD was born and decided not to get a pram at first and just go with the sling. Definitely the best decision. No problem at all on buses/tube and they're so light at that stage that it's super easy to carry them like that. We had the Baby Bjorn Active. It's the one with the back support and I would highly recommend it!

AntoinetteCosway · 28/01/2014 15:53

Hi all, had scan this afternoon and there's definitely a baby in there Grin

New EDD is 7th August.

So excited!

lucyfluff · 28/01/2014 16:04

Great news on the scans again today ladies Smile lets hope we carry on with good news now.

Onion - Ive had a terrible headache today. Just caved in and taken paracetemol after trying water and a nap Sad I think mine is stress related as its in my jaw aswell where I clench my teeth at night...attractive!!!

Shakshuka · 28/01/2014 16:09

I know what you mean weejo. My spotting came back a bit yesterday and even though I know I had the scan at 12 weeks and all was fine (and I had the same in my previous pregnancies as well), I still check and it STILL makes me gasp when I see it!

Shakshuka · 28/01/2014 16:10

nyldn

Yes, I'm in the US so hopefully it should be quicker as the blood only needs to be sent nationally (wherever the lab is). I had my blood taken a week ago today. I'm seeing my dr this evening so hopefully she'll have the results for me.

NameToBeDecided · 28/01/2014 16:28

Thank you hungry still can't work it out so I'll check the instructions at some point.

Owlysims · 28/01/2014 16:46

Great news on scans Grin
