OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Owlysims · 26/01/2014 00:04

Nope no sign of why or explanation just one of those things...just so relieved SmileSmileSmileSmile

HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 07:03

I bet you are. :-) Amazing how an actual weight does get lifted, isn't it?

How did the Dr break in to EPU? Sounds very manly and masterful!

lucyfluff · 26/01/2014 07:41

Yay for the breaking in Wink and even more for healthy bubba!!! Bet you are relieved. Try and have a nice rest today.

Im off to inlaws for lunch, god knows how im hiding my tummy Confused eeek!!

mssleepyhead · 26/01/2014 08:23

What a great outcome owly! So glad you got to see your little one too. Hooray!

mssleepyhead · 26/01/2014 08:24

I just wondered if anyone else was going to do/has done before an NCT class? It's early days but there's a perfect looking course right next to my house and I'd like to take it, mainly to meet people, but the costs have just come through and it does seem a lot of money... Thoughts anyone? Is it worth it?

HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 09:38

I think a lot of people do it more for the social aspect as the groups tend to form close friendships.

I've heard that the content and emphasis can be hit and miss dependent on the tutor.

My friend's venue was also moved 4 times before the course started!

WeeJo08 · 26/01/2014 10:24

Morning everyone! Smile That's great news Owly! So glad everything went well.

Sleepy I have several friends who did NCT, like Hungry said, it was mainly for social reasons & they loved it - they still meet up every week and it's been a few years. I would consider it this time - I didn't do it last time because we were moving a month after DD was born.

Put my bump pic on the FB group but don't think it posted as cant see it! Prob did something stupid!! Grin

mssleepyhead · 26/01/2014 10:28

weejo we took bump photos yesterday - turns out i don't have one : )

but what i do have is that every single evening my stomach swells right from my ribs down to my belly button. it's so so so uncomfortable, and happens no matter what i eat and how little i eat. i found my womb this morning and it's SO MUCH lower than the evening bump is, so i know it's not baby. is it just food, anyone? and any tips on what i can do to avoid it?

i'm 10 weeks tomorrow and feeling a bit fed up because i feel like my symptoms are getting worse, not easing. slept for 10 hours last night, much more than i usually manage, and want to go back to bed now. and the vague nausea i've had for the last few weeks has really ramped up this weekend and is pretty much constant now. boo...

(sorry for the negativity... feeling a bit down today. hoped things would start feeling better soon, and finding it tough that i'm actually feeling worse.)

Jenbee1 · 26/01/2014 10:34

I have this picture of the doctor with a balaclava and crow bar breaking in. Hilarious. Yeah for common sense in the NHs.

lucyfluff · 26/01/2014 10:49

It does make you wonder why a&e dont just have a scanner for weekends?!

Re NCT I have never done them but friends have and said they are good for company and still meet up now. I guess it depends on how many other groups/baby related activities you want to do?

Hope you feel better soon mssleepy Smile

Owlysims · 26/01/2014 10:51

Thanks everyone Smile it was a lady doctor and no crowbar needed she just rang around the hospital to find out all the codes. She said epu don't mind as long as you leave it exactly as you find it! So we had to put all chairs back and clear right up so looked like we were never there! Smile So nice of her to do it! Like you say yah for nhs!

Owlysims · 26/01/2014 10:52

Lucy I think it's more because not everyone is trained. She said its pot luck and that's why I waited so long as my doctor went down to theatre and she was there, he talked to her and she came back up. Original doctor wasn't trained and she was. She has also just come off maternity and was so sympathetic!

HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 11:28

I think I'd have waited too. :-) Much better than hanging on for a few days, despite the hunger!

I'm feeling seriously not pregnant today. Hopefully it's just the placenta taking over. Only 24 hours til my scan though, thank god.

lucyfluff · 26/01/2014 11:38

Yeah thats true I suppose its all done to correct staff, just baffles me that a weekend is just like any other day and should have full use of equipment and staff on!! Oh well at least all was ok in the end Smile

HungryHorace · 26/01/2014 11:42

My local hospital is like a ghost ship at the weekend! Nothing is open apart from the wards and A&E. It's spooky!

Abimci · 26/01/2014 12:39

mssleepyhead that's exactly what I'm like. Have been eating pretty healthily (slightly more carbs than before I was pregnant though due to feeling sick) and still going to the gym twice a week yet my stomach is huge in the evening. Also getting bored of feeling tired and sick. All I do is go to work then come home and get into bed. Then on the weekend I sleep and try to get some school work done. Hardly see my DH! I'm really just hoping it will lift in a few weeks time as that's what everyone keeps saying. It feels like day-to-day survival. Just keep trying to think about the end result!

travispickles · 26/01/2014 13:01

abimici that sounds like me! I am permanent-tired and going to bed as soon as I get in. Am fed up with sick and tired all day every day.

Just updated with mine.
Sickness has really ebbed off now. Only sick in the morning now which I can deal with especially with studying full time. Dp has finally come around though his choices in name are horrendous. Only thing tgats the pain is loss of appetite I'm really struggling finding something I want to eat.

LakeOfDreams · 26/01/2014 14:14

On my I phone so fingers crossed but think I've added you Mitchell

travis mssleepy good luck with the week ahead. Hope you managed to get some rest today (I've been in bed all day alternating between work and TV!) and here's hoping we'll all be feeling much better in a few weeks!

Missvaughan85 · 26/01/2014 16:12
