We're teling both sets of parents today and then everyone else as we see them. Dh is really nervous about saying anything for some reason. He wants to wait until we get the downs test results back. I can't wait another month!!

Feelingfatty · 23/01/2014 16:22

Ah Jenbee go for it I'm sure alls fine!

mssleepyhead · 23/01/2014 16:35

Finally have my booking in appointment on Tuesday! Just looked at the green booklet today - should I fill some of it in before I go or does it all get done in the appointment?

Feelingfatty · 23/01/2014 16:47

Ms sleepy my midwife asked me to fill in as much as I can before so I filled in all papers and all the green book that was suitable Smile

jazzyjenbo · 23/01/2014 17:09

Hi ladies, i'm checking in for the last time just to say thank-you all for the supportive comments after my sad news on Monday. (and a little more detail so if you done want to know anymore please don't read)

I went for my early scan monday 20th after having some mild spotting over the weekend and it was immediately obvious that the baby hadnt grown correctly and that the 'pregnancy' had failed. They term it as a blighted ovum. The baby had died but my sac, yoc and placenta was continuing and I was the predicted 9/10 weeks.
In theory I should of miscarried but the hormones produced were still telling my body I was carrying therefore I hadnt miscarried.
I had to make the decision as to what I wanted to do...1)go home and wait for the invertible which could take weeks 2) pills to induce miscarriage or 3) d&c under general... I opted for 2.
I spent the day in hospital yesterday and at 1.45pm 3.5 hrs into my induction my star went to the sky!

I hope i've not upset any of you, i just wanted to say to any of you who are having ANY spotting, pains, any worries please call your local early pregnancy unit. My local one told me as soon as there is anything that you think is 'not quiet right' they will check you out.

I hope you all go onto have healthy, happy pregnancies and babies.

This was to by my 3rd child, i have a 3 yr old ds and 18 mth old dd

My name is jennifer and I live Manchester x x

HungryHorace · 23/01/2014 17:11

Excellent news, Jenbee. :-)

I love cheesey mash too. Yummy!

I may eat everything in the house tonight the way it's going...this conversation is not helping me moderate what I eat!

eeyore2911 · 23/01/2014 17:15

So sorry to hear that jazzy Thanks

mssleepyhead · 23/01/2014 17:19

Thank you for sharing that, Jazzy. Oddly I think a lot of my fear of mc is not knowing much about it and being frightened of the experience. It is obviously horribly traumatic, but your calm description had removed some of the scary mystery around it. I wish you the very best for future pregnancies x

jazzyjenbo · 23/01/2014 17:26

The main thing is making the choices that suit you best.. Most ppl will MC naturally.. Your body will recognise that things are not right and will stop producing pregnancy hormones and you will loose the baby of your own accord.. In my case this did not happen hence the choices i had to make.
For me the pills were the best option as i really didnt want to be put under general and I thought it gave the most natural end to the pregnancy.
I hope nobody ever has to go through this and yes we may try again later in the year. X

lucyfluff · 23/01/2014 17:29

Oh god Im wiping and theres blood Sad

Feelingfatty · 23/01/2014 17:30

Sorry for your news jazzy and thankyou for calmly taking it through with us all.

Lucy what's the blood like? It might not be as bad as you think xxx

Finnable · 23/01/2014 17:40

Jen - I'm so sorry to hear what happened, but I wish you all the luck for the future. Look after yourself.

Lucy - call EPAU/hospital - I can imagine how hard it is not to, but please try not to stress too much - just get some help as soon as you can. Hoping you're OK.

HungryHorace · 23/01/2014 17:40

Thank you for coming back and telling us so calmly, Jazzy. Good luck when you try again. xx

Lucy, describe the blood to us. Try to stay calm.

Ruggle · 23/01/2014 17:41

Jazzy,

I can empathise. I had similar at 11+2 just 6 months ago. Not sure when the baby stopped growing as I started bleeding spontaneously and had lost it before getting a proper scan, but they thought definitely before 6 weeks. My body didn't recognise that for at least 5 weeks, but I had all the usual pregnancy symptoms up until then.
So sorry it's happened to you too. The miscarriage boards are full of very supportive people who have gone through the same thing, so pop over there if you need to vent!

xx

jazzyjenbo · 23/01/2014 17:45

Thanks guys, I have been ok, obviously having pain and this week has been emotional but all in all not as scary as I thought this experience would be.

Lucy, stay calm, how much loss? Etc here still to help if I can x x

lucyfluff · 23/01/2014 17:54

Its like start of period, Ive put a pantyliner in to see but when I push a bit of tissue up (about an inch) its still on there Sad I feel so sick.

EPU is shut now so will have to wait it out till the morning.

Owlysims · 23/01/2014 17:58

Is the blood red or brown? Sorry everyone's period starts differently. To be honest even if it's red blood you hear of ladies with good news stories so it doesn't mean the end. I've had dark spotting in this pg and with dd and both were fine. No point in telling you not to panic as that's exactly what I did and no one can help only the scanning lady at epu. Thinking of you ThanksThanksThanks

Owlysims · 23/01/2014 17:59

Oh this is feeling fatty by the way didn't want that name anymore as not really feeling fat anymore!!

Owlysims · 23/01/2014 18:01

Just updating thread with my new name to try not confuse people.

Its red - I know theres nothing anyone can do I will just have to wait and see. Just cant believe it Sad

jazzyjenbo · 23/01/2014 18:06

Lucy, all you can do is ride it out tonight and even if it stops tonight ring your midwife and epu first thing and get an appointment.
If the bleeding gets any worse tonight go to A&E or you could always ring your local hospital and ask to speak to the gyne assessment unit tonight.
I wish you the best of look and hope you have a nicer outcome than I did. If you need a chat off-line please PM me.
