We've now welcomed mini sun, dawn, kat, zazou and selfies (please tell me I haven't missed anyone...)....who will be next?!

Those of us waiting impatiently will be showing down on dates, pineapple, RLT and curry while having awkward whale sex.

Shrops - I did briefly consider that but...nope.. Decided against that theory as you'd have to be dead from the waist down to not say the SPD jabbing is agony. I've had them all afternoon again ConfusedConfusedConfused

I know the sensation you mean though because I get that too sometimes. Weird feeling indeed and I think it's baby pressing on the cervix.

EeyoreIsh · 23/01/2014 21:24

I have my free bottle of waitrose champagne chilling, and a few bottles of veuve or moet from the wedding. I'd be happy with prosecco though, I'm not fussy Grin

Still getting lots of promising pains. Nothing regular though.

champagne No idea, but sounds like it could be the start of something if it's regular?!

jazz It's supposed to be brew Brew :)

I have read about babymoon (probably from American websites) and we have decided to go out for pizza one day before baby arrives :P wahey!

Not got any special knickers yet, defo won't get huge ones, but a size up I suppose. Also can't get anything bigger than super absorbent night ones?

LovesToBake · 23/01/2014 21:55

Champs if it's anything like my labour with DS, I disregarded a whole day of mild period-like cramping and lower back pain (which I now realise was the first stage of labour) and gave birth to him the following evening, so you never know - if could bet the start of something. And as for when do you know? Well I woke up the next morning feeling on top of the world, no twinges/cramps or anything and then flooded the downstairs of my house around 7pm when my waters broke out of the blue followed by contractions that definitely fitted the definition of "you just know"!

gah, nonstop BH!! like 4 in less than an hour! any advice to calm it down? Sooo tight and uncomfy!

Sassy20 · 23/01/2014 22:09

Champagne - my labour started with what felt like period pains that got progressively stronger as time went on to the stage where I couldn't lie down as was too painful and needed to keep moving about. X

Sassy20 · 23/01/2014 22:10

Obviously that's my labour with dd! This baby's still firmly in there! Grin

Poppy954 · 23/01/2014 22:22

Try walking around champs while they are happening. If they don't ease up they could be the start if the real thing. They don't take your breath away in the start. Try to get some rest while they are not too bad just in case.

Thingymajigs · 23/01/2014 22:35

Oo good luck champagne! Try to get lots of rest tonight just incase.

Thingymajigs · 23/01/2014 22:37

littleen, not much works for me but I've heard drinking water helps to ease them a bit.
Sounds like a lot of us are getting close now.

EeyoreIsh · 23/01/2014 22:38

Could be promising champs, let us know if they develop into anything more exciting! If they do, good luck!

Littleen · 23/01/2014 22:40

Water it is then! I'm only 35+4 and nowhere near ready with anything for baby, so I really want him to stay put for a while longer :P

EmmaFreudsGivingMeJip · 23/01/2014 22:50

oooh champs sounds promising, I wonder if there will be new baby pics on fb by the morning Grin

Eee good luck champs are we going to wake up to the next thread labour? At any rate sounds like your body ramping up, which can only be a good thing!

KalevalaForMePlease · 24/01/2014 03:08

Good luck champs! DD1 started like that as well, period pain cramps that I was convinced was just BH, but got more intense as the day went on. Make sure you rest up, have a long bath, eat something, walk around, etc. Exciting!

Artisticme · 24/01/2014 04:10

Hope it's the start of something champs exciting stuff:)

ch how are you and baby doing? All settled at home now? I'm pretty sure my sister has that size of cot and she got her sheets for verbaudet.

Had my sister and her 3 midwife friends all check me over yesterday and decide baby was engaged haha. For about the third time. No doubt tomoro I will no longer be! Second time is so inconsistent!! Although it is OHs birthday today and I'm kind of keeping my legs crossed so baby doesn't make an appearance!

Been joining the 4 o'clock insomniac a the last couple of nights:( it's awful! I really feel for those of you who have had this for a while. I just want to get up and eat but refuse to get out of bed till atleast 8.30!!

pettyprudence · 24/01/2014 05:10

good morning and good luck champs.
I have been awake since 3:30am - I have a cold, a uti, a tooth infection and a toddler Grin Sad . I am supposed to be working today but will drag myself to dr for antibiotics and the office as I might as well get paid to be ill. hopefully one dose of antibiotics will knock the uti and tooth infection on the head in one hit? do they work like that? I have a couplevof busy weeks ahead and could do without illness as I have decided I would like baby to arrive just after 38 weeks. that's how it works right?Grin

EeyoreIsh · 24/01/2014 06:36

litleen thinking of you today Thanks I hope everything goes well and you're supported by family and friends.

petty that sounds like an awful combination. I hope the antibiotics kick in and you feel better soon.

champs any news?

I slept so well last night. I woke up lots as usual but managed to doze back off again. I feel really refreshed for a change.

Thinking of you today Littleen Thanks

I had a rubbish night too. Bloody show at 8pm (guess sweep on Wednesday caused it) then low grade cramping all night coupled with not 1 but 2 nightmares from DS and then a 5,30 wake up call from him (he usually sleeps until 7.30) because he had soaked through his pull up pant. I think he was making up for the fact he slept through the night before.

Poor DH tries to comfort him but he will just scream 'I don't want you I only want mummy'. He's definitely testing is at the moment which I know is understandable but it's hard to be patient when I'm overdue and knackered. And I'm sure he will step it up when the baby is here and I'm doing night feeds ConfusedConfused
