We've now welcomed mini sun, dawn, kat, zazou and selfies (please tell me I haven't missed anyone...)....who will be next?!

Those of us waiting impatiently will be showing down on dates, pineapple, RLT and curry while having awkward whale sex.

Littleen that's how I feel with my BH's. And they're so strong now that it feels like someone is pushing hard from above down on my abdomen when I get them in bed, really strange feeling.

And I also understand what you mean about knowing a different side to your mother, just lean on dh for support today and try not to feel too stressed out. I'm sure the Braxton's will ease off later on Thanks

Thisisfreakingmeout · 24/01/2014 08:12

All the best littleen, get through it however you can. It doesn't matter about anyone else's view today. I hope your OH can help support you through it.

Thingymajigs · 24/01/2014 08:16

I'll be thinking of you today littleen. Thanks Regarding BH's, I find if I turn on to my side the pressure in my head and breathlessness stops quite quickly. Since my baby has dropped a little the pressure has eased up so hopefully that will happen for you too.
At least your body is gearing up champs. Can't be long now. Smile
Lots of sympathy to everyone missing out on sleep. I'm introducing mandatory 2pm naps into my hectic schedule of doing nothing.
Fingers crossed that the show is the start of something lastnight.
Woke up at 3am with name wobbles again after two people gave long pauses when they heard baby's name yesterday (ds2 keeps telling everyone). I'm fine again now but if I ever have doubts about anything it'll always be at 3am.

Artisticme thanks for the tip - had never heard of that shop and enjoying a browse now. All settled at home and just so happy.

Champs, sounds exactly how I started. Spent Friday afternoon/ eve with 'backache' (like period pain) which eventually got worse in 'waves' (contractions) but about 3am... He was back to back though, which made the back pain worse.

Best of good luck to you if you've started today

I've had backache and period pain in waves for weeks now, and I'm convinced that I'm just going to ignore it one day and it'll suddenly turn into something urgent! Although this is my second baby it's all new as I was induced with DS after going 15 days overdue and having no niggles whatsoever!!

Julietee · 24/01/2014 08:47

Littleen I get the head pressure thing lying down without any BH! It helps to elevate my head and upper body on pillows, though not hugely comfrtable for sleeping.
I hope the funeral today is as bearable as possible.

My hips are killing me in the night. I end up on my right side most of the time because they're much worse on my left. Arrgh.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 24/01/2014 08:56

Julietee I prefer my right side too!

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 24/01/2014 09:00

Feel bad asking but I've looked through all the files on fb with our names on and I can't find the details of the lady who has the lovely French name and has just posted a gorgeous pic of her little girl who came early. Does anyone else know who she is on here?Wink

Sassy20 · 24/01/2014 09:01

Champagne - fingers crossed it all sounds promising to me. X

laura0007 · 24/01/2014 09:18

She's clarounette on here Lastnight but don't think she posts on mn much!
Good luck today jazz.
Thinking of you litleen Thanks
Hope this is it champs!

jazzcat28 · 24/01/2014 09:54

champagne all sounds promising - perhaps you will be providing this weekend's snuffly newborn photos for us to coo over?!

littleen thinking of you today, I know what you mean about knowing a different side to your mum, hope it goes as well as possible for you and your DH.

thingy am also having name wobbles. Change my mind every day about which of our 3 boys names I like best. We still only have 1 girl name with a tentative 2nd choice, which one of my NCT ladies announced was her one and only girls name choice so now am a bit worried about possibly using it. DH no help whatsoever - he thinks that having 1 name for each sex is perfectly fine and what will be will be! Wish I could be so relaxed about it!

ch if you find any sheets for your cot let me know - ours is also a similar size. Was thinking could just use normal ones with elastic hems to kinda ping into place? But if you find some that actually fit please share!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes on here and FB for my scan this afternoon. If it is still being an awkward little pickle breech I'll be hanging around for ages to see a consultant so will post here/FB to let you know!

CubanoHabana · 24/01/2014 09:54

Good luck today jazz

Hope this is something jazz

Thinking of you littleen

With regards to alcohol, we have the top shelf of a cupboard in kitchen filled with spirits and then I discovered a bin bag full in our huge ensuite cupboard yesterday that we had put there when we moved because I couldn't fit it in kitchen cupboard and forgot about!

jazzcat28 · 24/01/2014 09:59

Do you reckon today's scan will just be a scan and a chat or do you think they will want to do stuff today? Now having a bit of a wobble that DH can't come with me and should I take hospital bags?!

Probably totally OTT...

marzipanned · 24/01/2014 10:12

Jazz probably just a scan and a chat, I was told that the ELCS would be at 39 weeks if baby turned out to be breech.

Littleen good luck today, yes...whatever it takes.

Champs maybe you'll be one of those women who has a really long pre-labour and crazy fast actual labour?

lastnight I hope the show is the start of things for you!

RE cot sheets I will once again recommend babymattressesonline.co.uk/ if you can't find cheaper elsewhere - they can make your size to order, the sheets are lovely and soft and they arrive pretty quickly.

glitterhoops · 24/01/2014 11:02

I have the best in laws ever! They booked themselves in for babysitting so my partner can take me out to dinner. Might try and heave myself to John Lewis in a bit to do some shopping... big pants are def on the list - I remember them being so useful last time. I am really quite excited about meeting my son today, and midst a off the aches and pains, it is simply incredible when you first meet your little one.

glitterhoops · 24/01/2014 11:04

Wow lots going on! All the best to those of you with scans and checks.

Exciting to hear the potential start of something lastnight and champs. Not so much as a BH over here, still, I'm only 36 weeks tomorrow. Gosh your +15 days overdue must have been hard going last time lastnight!!

Ditto the earlier comments littleen, thinking of you today. Thanks
