We've now welcomed mini sun, dawn, kat, zazou and selfies (please tell me I haven't missed anyone...)....who will be next?!

Those of us waiting impatiently will be showing down on dates, pineapple, RLT and curry while having awkward whale sex.

Morning all, well officially February now, argh!!!! my due date is 13th so feels very surreal that I will definitely become a mum this month.

eeek I'm starting to feel a bit terrified about actually giving birth now, I hope I manage to surprise myself!!

jazz I echo what others have said although I still need to have this chat with my mam!!

good luck to all those in labour Smile

Stopdropnroll · 01/02/2014 06:36

Well it's my due date today but not sign of baby wanting to come out, think she's heard the weather forecast and decided to stay out! :)

jazzcat28 · 01/02/2014 07:29

Happy February everyone! We are almost all going to be mummies in a matter of days!!!

Good luck to those who are in progress this weekend - looking forward to some more announcements!

Shropshiremummy2B · 01/02/2014 08:19

You're my dd buddy stopdrop!

My baby is snug as a bug, and unless they tell me I have per eclampsia later today, I'm happy to keep it there!

lyndsey90 · 01/02/2014 09:50

Eep, how has this pregnancy flown, 2 weeks today till my due date. My tummy feels very full and these feet between my ribs are welcome to budge at any point now lol. I love my baby so much :)

marzipanned · 01/02/2014 11:31

Woke up this morning really annoyed that waters didn't go last night. It's February now little one, get yourself out of there!

Due on Tuesday so jazz though I know you are right logically (will be max 16 days before something happens for me as they induce here at 40+12) it sure as heck doesn't feel like a matter of days!

Is anyone else having the opposite problem to insomnia?! I'm falling back asleep every morning straight after breakfast (which DH brings me in bed...) and really, really struggling to wake back up. I have to force myself - feel like I could just snooze away the entire day otherwise. Weather is beautiful here today so made myself leave my down palace so we can get out for a nice long walk, otherwise I swear I could just sleep until I start contracting. Which, on second thoughts, might not be a bad plan.

I'm not due until the 26th tho, so still aaages to go- nad that's if she's on time.

Good luck to everyone else. I hope you're all going off like rockets.

Stopdropnroll · 01/02/2014 15:19

Happy due date Shropshire,I'm quite happy with her staying put for a bit longer too, I'm going to miss being pregnant as have loved it :) really hope you don't have pre eclamsia.

Julietee · 01/02/2014 18:30

Nearly had a hormonal cry because I got the letter through for my next midwife appt and it's a week later than it should be (thus leaving 3 weeks since my last rather than 2).

jazzcat28 · 01/02/2014 19:53

Anyone else 38wks and hormones all over the place?! I'm emotional and blubby at everything. Today had an emotional morning trying to explain to parents about visiting post-birth which ended in all three of us blubbing away in the middle of John Lewis... now am getting teary because DH has been a superstar today having finished work at lunchtime has fitted our isofix car seat in the car, shown me (very patiently) how it works, gone and done the weekly food shopping, bought me flowers, now in kitchen cooking dinner and told me I'm not allowed to do anything around the house today or tomorrow!

Parents visiting situation I think will be ok. They are upset that they feel like I don't want them to visit at all. Obvs not the case but just want them to do me the courtesy of asking first what we would find most convenient (rather than what suits them). I think our crying session in JL may have cleared the air. But we shall see.

panda I'm not revealing the ELCS date (not even here) but I will tell you that you will beat me to it Wink Please come on here/FB and tell me afterwards how it went perfectly smoothly and that it was a totally blissful experience!!

Freezer is full of yummy home cooked batch cooking, yummy meals from M&S, nursery is completed, hospital bags done (though may need a shuffle around for ELCS suitability), car seat fitted, pram unpacked. I am ready for this baby! Bring it ON!! Grin

Happy Saturday preggos/mummies

LittlePandaBear · 01/02/2014 20:40

Jazz - hope everything works out okay with your parents. There are worse places to have a heart to heart - and I hope you were in the cafe and had cake to get you through it! Your DH sounds amazingly helpful :) And of course I understand about keeping the date to yourself and I will let you all know how mine goes on Thursday. I'm so so nervous but can't wait to meet my little man.

I'm also very emotional tonight but have good reason - my distant friend who lost her baby at around 5 months has sent out a donation request as she's doing a run for a stillbirth and neonatal charity. She was due a few weeks after me in Feb. She included a picture of her ridiculously tiny little girl which set me off sobbing at the unfairness of it all. Puts it all in perspective again - we may be fed up and uncomfortable at the end of our pregnancies but we've made it this far and are truly blessed.

Right, I've eaten nearly all of the chocolate and crisps in the house, time to watch Who Dares Wins with the craggy faced Nick Knowles Blush

EmmaFreudsGivingMeJip · 01/02/2014 21:04

jazz yes me too - 38+1 and I alternate from literally pissing myself laughing to stropping about and crying. We are going to fit the isofix tomorrow, feels very real now!

Panda so sorry to hear about your friend. Yes we are all fed up and complaining but you're right we are all truly lucky to be having these beautiful babies Smile

Julietee · 01/02/2014 21:47

Littleen If you're reading - I can't believe we're 37 weeks tomorrow!

Jazz A week behind you and yes. I've spent all day feeling like I'm on the verge of crying. And actually took myself off in the dark to cry last night after breaking a glass.

Panda I have eaten dark chocolate, hot chocolate and maltesers today.

Oh dear, insomnia here :(
Been awake since 3 and just can not get back to sleep, think I may actually cry in a minute );

Yes panda definitley puts things into perspective with regards to how the last couple weeks are feeling, we should be so thankful to have got as far as this.

My DH's gran has been taken ill and looks like she has little chance of making it through to the birth of DD, she was so excited it saddens me that she might not be here. She only has a couple of weeks to wait, I hope she manages to hang on in there to see her. She gets such joy from my DS and she is such a lovely lady I will really miss her

sunflowered · 02/02/2014 05:53

So it turns out I have a nocturnal baby... She slept for 6 hours yesterday, but tonight she's been awake since 1.50. I think I might have changed my mind about taking her home (unless I can take one of the lovely scbu nurses with me - they've solved all my problems instantly tonight.)

Really sorry to hear about your dh's gran ladybird. I hope she's being well cared for and fingers crossed for anything that might mean she'll be here to meet your little one soon.

Shropshiremummy2B · 02/02/2014 06:09

Do it Sunflowered, kidnap a nurse! I'm so pleased you're getting on well, have you spent any time at home or is it impossible?

Glad that my membership to the 4AM club is lapsing and I'm making it to almost 6AM without waking. May this continue to 9AM. What's that? Oh yes. Then I have to actually have a baby. Who will have no regard for my sleep patterns.

So I'm now OVERDUE. What a strange limbo world. For those who don't know, I got the pre e all clear so am back to being a smug preggo. A smug preggo with a cracked rib, but still. My pre e all clear meant that instead of a day in front of the TV I managed a morning with DH and dogs shooting. It was very exciting to be in the middle of a wood scrambling around and someone ask me when I'm due.... Today! The look on their faces. Of course when I sneaked home at lunch they all assumed I'd slipped off to give birth. But they were impressed I left DH out to play all day on my due date! It is the last day of the shooting season after all!

So, my plans for next week are to sadly be checked every other day for high bp. So il have to go to the MLU lots even though I have bought a machine for home because I'm a hypochondriac, which has probably added to my bp! And on Tuesday I have my reflexology session, which according to the girl who recommended it, will have me in labour that afternoon. So you have been warned.

Shropshiremummy2B · 02/02/2014 06:10

ladybird so sorry to hear about granny in law, hope you can see her lots before she passes.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 02/02/2014 06:54

Sunflowered, Olivia is totally nocturnal. In fact, I'd say a vampire Smile

Sleeps all day and just wants food all night long. It'll settle....eventually!!

Ladybird81 · 02/02/2014 08:40

Thanks guys, hopefully off to see her today, hoping she's lucid enough to know we are there.
Shropshire I had reflexology with my DS a couple of days before his due date, and he came on his due date, I had hi BP and swelling so someone recommended it to get him going! I think it did, so very a worth a try

sunflowered · 02/02/2014 08:41

Glad it's not just mine who doesn't understand night and day... I spent two hours trying to get her to sleep in her cot instead of on my chest, then when I gave in and asked the nurse for help she just swaddled her and she was asleep in her cot within 30 seconds. Where can I learn all of these tricks without having to resort to kidnapping? And how soon will she learn the difference between night and day...!?

shropshire your due date sounds great. What else have you got planned before Perry puts in an appearance?

LovesToBake · 02/02/2014 08:52

Sunflowered I remember midwives telling me with DS that babies are always nocturnal when they arrive as they have been used to being active at night in the womb while you sleep and generally lulled to sleep during the day while you're most active. I also think there's something to do with your milk being at its most nutritious during the night - definite design flaw if you ask me! It does change though so hang on in there! With my DS, by about 12 weeks he was sleeping roughly 7pm-7am with one feed in the early hours, and that was ebf demand feeding x

EeyoreIsh · 02/02/2014 09:01

Another nocturnal baby here. She feed from 5.30 onwards. I got an hours kip somewhere, but then straight back to boob until 6.30 when I broke down and gave her to DH while I slept. She's back on the boob now. We've got midwife appointment today, we might download in a major way!

Shrops I'm so impressed you went out shooting on your due date and with a broken rib. I hope your baby doesn't keep you waiting too much longer.

Shropshiremummy2B · 02/02/2014 09:43

Perry? Perry? Is that Percy's chav cousin?

No plans, really never imagined getting here! Reflexology and blood pressure checks are my only plans.
