I like Zara's gran's name as well. There might be a lot of pink ESH-lets with similar names....

eurochick · 23/01/2014 19:53

Zara's gran's name is my middle name. :) I've always preferred it to my first name, tbh and went through a stage of trying to get people to call me it, but it never worked.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/01/2014 08:09

When does the weekend start? Knackered here. But I think I am feeling little Lembie at last, 20+6, about time too...

FrankelInFoal · 24/01/2014 08:15

Hurrah Drizz, go with your instincts on movements - if you think it's movement then it usually is.

I know what you mean about the knackeredness, I half contemplated not going in to work today but seeing as I've only got next week left to finish things off I decided against it Grin

SinkyMalinks · 24/01/2014 08:24

I had a work from home day yesterday. So slept. Oops. Now getting that Sunday night, not done my homework, feeling.

I felt great in the 20's weeks... The tiredness has definitely hit again though!

But. Cot was built last night. Sinky cat thinks it's great Hmm.

I'm similar sinks. I have had one relatively simple task to accomplish this week and been too pathetically ill to manage it. I've been doing an hour or so a day. It's annoying cos if I could have knocked it out on Monday, I could have slept for the rest of the week without worrying about it!

Glad to hear that the cat likes its new bed. :)

MyNameIsWinkly · 24/01/2014 15:05

Suppose the baby could snooze in a cat basket sinks :)

I'm still knackered, I managed to get up and take HWCA to the dentist this morning (he's phobic, wouldn't go on his own) and have now been laying in bed playing on the laptop for the last two and a half hours. Luckily its a nice new laptop so holds its charge for a long time.

HWCA has bought a footless romper suit thing for the baby. He's on a buying frenzy, I tell you!

driz hooray on the movements, how exciting! (I thought I felt something last night then realised it was the string from my PJ bottoms tickling my hip :( )

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/01/2014 16:21

After a particularly exhausting meeting, the weekend has started here. Hurrah! Btw I am generally feeling much better, just had a badly insomniac week or two :(

Sorry about the guilt feelings and lack of achievements. It will be ok again, at some stage. First trimester and colds completely knocked me for six, euro.

Any exciting weekend plans?

Is drafs scan coming up soon?

It's quite cute your buying other half, winks. We're still on no buys, but acquired a few gifts. Also, I am going wool shopping for a cot blanket to be made by me tomorrow!

FrankelInFoal · 24/01/2014 17:24

We must have a few imminent scans on the horizon.

Our cat is a big fan of the new cot and moses basket, we have to keep the door to the nursery shut to keep her out! Little minx!

GingerScouse · 24/01/2014 19:05

Scan is still 2.5 weeks away. I am impatient and CGH has absolutely vetoed a private scan "just because I'm impatient" Angry

maamalady · 24/01/2014 20:25

My 20-week scan is next Thursday, followed by us fucking off for the weekend on Friday morning :)

I'm not worried about my moggies, at least. HOTB is convinced that Oldcat won't be around by June (and she's v creaky anyway), and Stupidcat doesn't do jumping except on to the sofa and our bed, so I think a barred cot will be safe. We'll ban her from our bedroom anyway, just in case, but I doubt it will be an issue.

eurochick · 24/01/2014 20:29

My next scan will be the quick viability one they do before the Harmony test, on Monday week. It'll be my 4th. Blush

winks that's really quite sweet.

I've just had my worst nausea episode so far - lots of saliva and feeling like I was going to hurl for about an hour. I've just piled dinner on top but couldn't really look at it as I was eating and have made KFZK do the clear up as well as the cooking (Blush again). I've been really lucky so far. I don't envy the people who have weeks of this. They say 9 weeks-ish is the worst point, so hopefully it won't last too long if it's only starting now.

MyNameIsWinkly · 24/01/2014 21:08

ginge I would be climbing the walls! I think you're the same date as my next scan, Feb 12th?

draf hope you're going somewhere lovely. We're fucking off for a few days in a week and a half, swish hotel, good restaurant, pool and spa and HWCA has booked me a full body pregnancy massage. Must get the lawnmower out and remove some of the leg hair before then.

euro he has been very sweet. I could share some more stories, but it wouldn't help your nausea... Hope this is the worst of it for you. Nausea sucks. ginge how's yours?

I am going to a posh restaurant tomorrow and I may even have the glass of champagne that comes as part of the tasting lunch menu :) HWCA has a sore mouth from his first dentist visit in 4 and a half years, but I have a feeling it'll be fine for lunch tomorrow!

FrankelInFoal · 25/01/2014 08:45

Ginge, can't you tell him "my womble, my rules!"?

Sorry about the nausea Euro, if it's any consolation mine disappeared (bar the odd random day) at about 11 weeks, I think!

We talked about trying to get away for a nice weekend before Turnip arrives but it doesn't look like it will happen now Sad

Speaking of a turnip, I don't know what the little madam was up to but yesterday evening felt like she'd invited friends round for a party Hmm She's having her moments this morning too so I'm wondering if she's making the most of still being able to turn around before it's too late Grin

Noks, if you're out there hope you and nipper are doing ok.

FriendofDorothy · 25/01/2014 10:31

I have my 12 week scan on 4 February. Feels like forever away :(

I still think I might get there to be told it is a cruel joke.

GingerScouse · 25/01/2014 18:12

Yep, I'm on the 12th. Nausea comes and goes, but I caved and bought some travel sickness bands on Friday. They are awesome!

I know what you mean, dor, I feel exactly the same way.

eurochick · 25/01/2014 20:51

My 12 week scan will be on the 17th (but as said above I should have a mini viability scan on the 3rd, which is not too far).

frank the party comment made me laff.

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/01/2014 11:41

How's everyone today?

maamalady · 26/01/2014 12:04

Today, we are staying inside :) It is chucking it down outside, and HOTB is doing his tax return. I am leafing through the baby name book we bought yesterday - it's our first baby purchase. We had a wander round the baby section of John Lewis yesterday too, trying to get a feel for Things We May Need.

In other news, I don't fit in my fatgirl jeans any more. Think I'm going to have to seek out a few more maternity clothes. I'm generally a high street shopper without much style - I have no clue where to do maternity shopping. John Lewis, Next, and Gap only stock online, which is irritating.

FrankelInFoal · 26/01/2014 14:00

Is there a JoJo Maman Bebe store near you? I bought all my maternity-wear from there : a coat, a pair of plain black work trousers, a pair of jeans, a couple of tops and a dress. Otherwise I've lived in larger sized tops and anything with an elastic acted waist Grin I also bought a couple of nice second-hand dresses off EBay.

I'd highly recommend booking in for an appointment with the nursery staff in John Lewis. You get a handy pack with lists of things to buy for a newborn/pack in your hospital bag and they'll take you round the whole department demonstrating all the prams, car seats etc. We used our appointment to take the Uppababy out to my car and make sure it would fit in the boot and they let us practice fitting it he car seat too Grin

SinkyMalinks · 26/01/2014 14:04

Draf, most/all of my tops are gap t-shirts and jersey tops. M&P jeans fit me the best I've found (stay where they should without contant hoiking and don't crease over bump. Under bump good in 2nd tri. For the last while I've found them less comfy and am using my over bump ones more (but they creased/fell down more at the start)

Asos is good for range. And I got a cheap dress for Xmas there, when everywhere else was trying to charge me £50+!

The good thing about matty ware is it has to be stretchy and forgiving, I think Internet shopping is much easier as a result.

Good luck!

FrankelInFoal · 26/01/2014 14:04

If any recent differs are looking for a book, I've found this one really good. It doesn't preach any particular method and is written with a sense of humour.

maamalady · 26/01/2014 14:32

Yes Frank, there's a Jojo in town - I have a skirt and top from online but they're quite expensive. It's depressing paying £30 for a top when you know you won't wear it for long! Good idea to actually go into the shop, though - so far it feels a bit like tempting fate, but if real clothes no longer fit me I suppose I don't have much choice! Grin

I hadn't thought of M&P or Asos, thanks sinks :)

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/01/2014 15:16

My overbump m&p skinny jeans are gorgeous, i'm folding the band over at the moment but the actual jeans part is the nicest pair I've had in ages. I've got a good pair of black trousers from Next. Tops wise, I'm still winging it with stretchy and pre-weight watchers tops. I've got some empire cut dresses that have more to give, but I did buy a pretty one from next. New Look has a decent range too, but only seems to be instore in less naice areas.

maamalady · 26/01/2014 15:23

New Look in the centre of Cambridge has maternity stuff in store Grin I should probably have another look round...
