Bugs unfortunately it's a distance learning degree and the college is nearly 200 miles away. I am starting to feel fed up, but along with that is the guilt for feeling that way because of how hard we had to fight to even get here.

On the food front you'll probably find "beige" food is what you crave the most/find easiest to digest.

maamalady · 25/02/2014 20:48

:)

GingerScouse · 25/02/2014 22:55

White toast bugs. It got me through some awful nausea.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 26/02/2014 08:00

Sorry for all the wobbles here!

Frank I think you're doing amazingly to still be working on your assignments etc. Get yourself some leeway and hopefully little frankel will soon be seen.

Sorry you're feeling rough too, bugs. Just be kind to yourself and eat what you crave. The baby will get what it needs of your stores, if need be. Beige is fine. We ate a lot more potatoes than usually in first trimester also cos SB is not the world's most gifted cook and I was asleep on the couch for most of it. Btw I'll be offline for a few days but want to say an early massive good luck for your scan on Friday!

KatAndKit · 26/02/2014 08:09

Big squishes for bugs and frank. The very beginning and the very end are so hard to get through. Bugs, carbs are your friend if you are feeling shit. I would stay away from sticks for the sake of your sanity. I was a few days late getting a 3+ and it caused me severe menkul. Wait it out till your scan if you can.

Thanks for the squishes hags, I'm feeling better after a night's rest. I emailed my tutor last night to ask about postponing some of my submissions, so hopefully she'll come back with a solution today.

For those looking for maternity clothes, Zulily have an Isabelle Oliver sale on at the moment. It's a good website to check out for maternity and kid's stuff.

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/02/2014 11:25

Glad you're feeling better frank. Hopefully your tutor will have something useful to say. You're doing really well, I know its hard not to feel guilty about feeling bad but you're not wishing you weren't diffed or being spoiled and precious, the end of pregnancy is tough!

bugs crisps and mini cheddars were my best friends for fighting nausea in the early weeks. You've done brilliantly resisting the sticks. Not long to go now.

Big hugs all round.

FrankelInFoal · 26/02/2014 15:27

Good news! Tutor has emailed back to say I can defer for up to 12 months right away Grin. I've asked to defer for 6 months for now, once I've finished the assignment I'm currently writing, and see how I feel in September. Feels like a weight off my shoulders Grin

Probably lay on the sofa, eat chocolate and watch crap TV Grin

She'll probably turn up this weekend now!

eurochick · 26/02/2014 15:44

That's great news frank. I reckon the wobbliness might be a sign that things are starting! :)

I spotted the Zulily IO sale too and have ordered a couple of bits. I've just had an ASOS delivery too. Hopefully there will be something in there to fit me. Most of the stuff I have ordered to date will have to go back as it is vast! (And I have my head in the sand about ever being big enough to fill it!)

bugs I agree on the beige food recommendation. I didn't go anywhere without those dry Belvita biscuits in my bag and even ended up opening one in my booking in appointment! As long as I ate carbs roughly hourly, the nausea stayed under control. Meat and veg turned my stomach though. Not long now until Friday!

BTW, I'm not thrilled at the prospect of going back after 4 months, but if I can manage it, it will be for the best. I only get 4 months enhanced paid leave and as I'm the main earner statutory mat pay will not be much of a help to us. I'm in a US firm and 12 weeks is standard for my US colleagues so I suspect taking a long mat leave would mean I get sidelined and forgotten. Also, I have this theory that one reason women with young children tend to have a difficult time when they do go back to work is that having done all the childcare for e.g. a year it becomes their responsibility. So if the child is sick at nursery and needs to go home, it will be the woman who leaves work. This way it's a lot more equal from the get go. That is just theory of course. Who knows what the reality will be.

SinkyMalinks · 26/02/2014 15:55

Last smart day in work - home now and my single pair of matty tights are straight in the bin! Dreadful things!

Glad you got your extension frank. Hopefully things are moving down there. This one is more active than ever, which I doubt is a sign of imminent labour!

2 sleeps to scan now bugs!

Euro, I am between the size of a hippo and a small camper van. Bear that in mind when returning clothes.... I weighed myself today. Big mistake. Big. Huge. (Literally)

Everyone else ok?

FriendofDorothy · 26/02/2014 16:40

OH PESH. I feel shitty today.

I am tired and feeling a bit poorly, headachey and under-the-weather poorly but nothing serious

Yesterday was five months since Mum died and I had a complete meltdown to The Mister. I miss having my Mum to talk to because she was great at chit-chat, as well as talking over the serious stuff. The Mister just isn't a talker and I miss the companionship I had with my Mama.

Anyway. just off to bereavement counselling. Today I need it like I need a hole in the head but I am feeling like this will be the last session I have. I feel fairly resolved about Mum not being here and think I need to get on with living now.

I just have to keep living until I feel alive again.

dor lovely it really is ok to be grieving for your mum. 5 months isn't that long in the grand scheme of things, there isn't any pressure to be 'better.' You're doing amazingly just by getting on, day to day.

No bugs, please don't. Mine was miles off, sinky's friend's was miles off, they aren't a reliable test. You're almost there, last day then you will Know for certain.

maamalady · 27/02/2014 08:15

DO NOT TEST

No good ever comes from testing

KatAndKit · 27/02/2014 08:38

Don't test it can't tell you the answer you need to know. Will you need dildocamming? I didn't get scanned till 8 weeks this time but last time they started at 6+4 and saw what they needed to see on tummycam. And you are much thinner than me. Also don't get hung up about precise dating. My very early one was three days out but by 9 weeks It was spot on.

I repeat do not test! Cbd are the tests of the devil.

FrankelInFoal · 27/02/2014 08:50

I'll add my voice to the no test brigade, I know I mentioned it before but that was my error and I have self-flagellated accordingly. You're so close to the scan Bugs, just hang on a little longer. What time is your scan tomorrow?

I had an awful night's sleep - up 4 times to pee in the space of about 5 hours, god knows where it all came from! Plus my back was aching. I've got up this morning and I swear my bump is lower again, so I'm getting on my ball later on to see if we can get things shifting

Try not to put too much store by symptoms at this stage Bugs, they do come and go for the first trimester in my experience. Just take it one step at a time, it'll be tomorrow before you know it.
