That's it. Breastfeeding has finally finished here :( Well, at least until the next one.

I am sad but my nipples hurt so much as he was pretty much just chomping on them :(

FrankelInFoal · 20/02/2014 08:32

Oh Dor that must be quite emotional for you. How are you feeling this morning?

I've never watched GoT, we don't have Sky, so have no idea what you lot are wittering on about Wink

Midwife appt this afternoon, so we'll see if a Turnip has engaged any lower. Bump feels lower again, but definitely no twinges to report at this stage.

Anyone fancy starting a sweepstake on possible dates?!

FriendofDorothy · 20/02/2014 09:16

I am feeling fine this morning. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I guess it is just the right time!

ALittleFaith · 20/02/2014 11:18

I'm still not ready to stop at 10 months with Faithlet. I never thought I'd feed so long but we still luff it.

Not long now Frank! My sister is due the same time as you but has a c-section date booked. I think I'm more excited than her about newborn cuddles!

faify what do you do about feeds when you're doing a night shift?

ALittleFaith · 20/02/2014 14:28

Grin bugs.

Winks she only has one BF a day now (when she wakes up, feeding cuddles in bed!). Until New Year I was still feeding her but she was waking 4/5 times a night at regular times so we figured it was probably habit. We started sending MSB in with a bottle but she wasn't interested therefore we knew she wasn't really hungry! Within 4 nights of sending MSB in she started sleeping through :)

38 week appointment done and dusted. Midwife said my urine had traces of something (lymphocytes?) but not enough to be worried about so no need for extra tests. Turnip is now 2/5ths engaged but she said she may not engage fully until my waters go. She did complement me on my "strong abdominal muscles" whilst feeling position of a turnip so here's hoping that means I'll spring back into shape a la Duchess of Cambridge Wink

ALittleFaith · 20/02/2014 16:50

That'll be leukocytes Frank. Nothing to worry about on their own. I always had them in my wee, often come from having discharge!

FrankelInFoal · 20/02/2014 16:55

Them's the ones! Thanks Faith Grin

The fear is completely understandable Bugs. My reassurance scan was at 7+2 so I can't comment on what you can expect at around 6 weeks. It is possible, from what I understand, to sometimes see a heartbeat at 6 weeks, but it is not guaranteed. However, equally not being able to see a heartbeat is not necessarily an indicator that anything is wrong. It will be more than likely be an internal scan, but we ESH are used to those!

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/02/2014 18:48

I had a 6 week scan (and was dated earlier, 5+3 or something I think). We got to see the heartbeat but I was warned strongly beforehand that they may not be able to see it, and if they couldn't it wasn't cause for concern at that point in time. It was a dildocam, but I've heard quite a few people get abdominal scans, even that early

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/02/2014 18:50

Oh and on a different note, my nursing vests were a 2 pack from h&m. They were in the sale but I think they were only about £15 full price which is a lot cheaper than others I have seen

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/02/2014 18:53

Or for the crafty types you could
DIY normal bras or vests as explained here

GingerScouse · 20/02/2014 19:23

Combined test results arrived today, risk of 1 in 19,347.

I'm so relieved Grin

MyNameIsWinkly · 20/02/2014 19:28

Hairstrokes bugs, I dreaded the early scan I had after the last time. I was 6+4 by their measurements and there was a heartbeat, just about, but I was 3 or 4 days behind my dates so any earlier and there wouldn't have been much to see. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Glad the appointment went well frank.

I'm struggling a bit today. My hip hurts like a bastard, I didn't sleep well, and I just saw myself in the mirror at the airport toilets - I have a face like a bloody bulldog and an arse the size of China. I couldn't be further away from blooming and could genuinely cry.

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/02/2014 19:30

Winks I feel your pain. My neighbour did a visible double take today when he saw me when I went to the door for a delivery; I look so horrific I am scaring people! And my foof hurts, and my arse bones hurt, and my back hurts. Grumble grumble

FrankelInFoal · 20/02/2014 19:38

My back is killing me too, and I have the feet of a baby elephant. When my BF came over yesterday she offered to rub them!

maamalady · 20/02/2014 19:40

Hooray, ginge!

Bugs, my early scan was 7+1, so you're a bit ahead of me. Baybee measured 6-7 weeks, so was a bit small for dates, but heartbeat was clearly visible. All we could see was a little flickering blob on the screen, not much else. No dildocam either, since being diffed it's all been transabdominal - something of a surprise for the early scan!

MyNameIsWinkly · 20/02/2014 19:41

merk I am sure you didn't scare your neighbour! He was probably in a dream world and did a double take when he realised you were standing there. frank your bf is a good person. I doubt my friends are that brave! Still at least you are both on the home straight, even if it doesn't feel much like it.

MyNameIsWinkly · 20/02/2014 19:42

Oh ginge hooray that's fab news!

Looking up details of scan timing, I've had a look in my notes - and I've found a Mysterious Letter Hmm I've not noticed it previously, so it must have got shoved in there after my 20-week scan (three weeks ago!), and it's a letter inviting me to take part in a study. However, under "why have I been invited to take part" it says "you have been invited for an ultrasound scan at 28-32 weeks". Except as far as I know, I haven't been invited for another scan. What the hell is this about? Any ideas? HOTB thinks maybe they shoved the letter in the wrong patient notes, but that seems a bit unlikely...

I'm next seeing the midwife at 25 weeks (7th March), do you reckon it's worth asking her if I was supposed to be told to go for another scan? I'm panicking a little bit; I thought everything was fine, but unexpected scans are rarely a good thing, right?
