Hi my friend at work gave birth at notts city her local hospital is kings mill in mansfield but she wasnt fussed about having her baby there so she choose notts, she was quiet happy with it and the staff were good a little bit pushy on the breast feeding front but I had my ds at kings mill and it was the same there. Hope it helps

thought city hospital was LOVELY. went to QMC with DD and it was rubbish overall. at city i had a good labour with a wonderful midwife. no one questioned me about wanting to bottle feed. the ward was great. midwives were very supportive. DS was on the neo-natal unit for a few days and couldn't praise the people down there enough. i even loved the food!

I live near Nottingham and this hospital has a good reputation. For one thing, it has a special hotel for friends/family to stay which can be useful during/after labour.

I had my DS at the Queens, but if I have any more, I would now opt for the city because its nearer and the possitive things I've heard about it.

I know quite people who have had their babies there and the majority were happy with it.

My friend gae birth there three months ago, and couldt say anything bad about it. They were all supportive and helped her though a lot. The only thing she said was that is was SOOOOO hot in there!

I am moving back to Notts in a few weeks, and will have baby#2 at city hospital, let us know how you get o, when are you due angell?

I gave birth at QMC and thought it was great - staff were lovely, antenatal care good and postnatal wards clean and bright. I know a fair number of people who have also been to City and said it was good. I chose QMC because of my StrepB and because it was closest to where I live - had quick no2 labour and no3 was no exception good luck!

cheers all of you for the info, am due 14th September. Getting a bit nervous now, did any of you us the birth pool?

Sallie · 31/07/2006 18:15

No pool for me for each of my 3 but did give birth to dd2 (no3) on all fours which I found was great - something to bear in mind at least. No tearing and she shot out!!
