Ahh twinkle, you need to post us a bump pic! Are you starting to enjoy it?
Alex we left it to fate aswel, it had taken me 18 months to conceive dd1 but bf kept it at bay for a while , I did get pregnant before af returned though! And a friend I met needed clomid to get pregnant with ds so decided not to bother and was pregnant again when he was 3 months Shock

kittykatsforever · 03/03/2014 14:07

Oh and aslong as it's manageable to you at night there's no should be, sounds fine!
Twins my best friend also needed icsi to get pregnant with her dd same time as my dd1 she had lots of issues, low sperm count, endemitriosis and pre cancerous cells, she's never used contraception and was just about to go and see about having a frostie put back in when she's discovered she's pregnant, this it just over 2 years since dd1 so fx if you want another you might get a miracle x
In other news I'm sick, food poisoning or noro? Dh too it's not good

fatasbutter · 04/03/2014 18:06

Sorry to hear you have the lurgy kitty it sounds yukky Hmm

Agree winkle we need a bump pic! Have you joined the Facebook group??

In my news, nipples are less painful but baby has been feeding almost hourly for a week nowConfused so I am exhausted and looking forward to him being weighed so I can hopefully see that it's all been worth it!! He still looks tiny to me tho... Did this happen to anyone else for this long?! I don't recall this with my first one! This one cries as soon as he's off the boob, apart from about one 2 hour nap a day ConfusedConfusedConfused

RedRobin1 · 05/03/2014 08:10

Hello everyone!

Alex your dds sleep pattern sounds similar to mine. And yes whatever works for you stick with it Smile

Dd and I are doing well - she's going through a growth spurt so feeding like a crazy vampire on a sucking spree! My boobs are knackered on most days.

She's going to be 9 weeks this week. Times flown with her. Day just goes by so fast.

Twinkle how are you doing?

On the subject of ttc for next dc, I had a traumatic birth to consider another. DH and I are not exactly spring chickens and considering how long it took us to have dd (nearly a year) we should get a move on this year but have sensibly(or foolishly) decided to wait till she's self sufficient i.e potty trained, able to eat with her hands, talk and walk etc I cannot cope with a needy toddler and newborn otherwise.

OP posts:
Alexandra6 · 05/03/2014 08:16

How much is yours crying red? S is still having lots of days where she's grizzly/crying lots, particularly as the day goes on. It makes me really appreciate the days when she's more chilled! She just woke up with big smiles, such a morning person!

Also how old are you and DH? how rude I'm just wondering as I'd like to wait a bit before having another but keep thinking about DH being 38!

kittykatsforever · 06/03/2014 07:15

You may need to wait awhile then red lol school age? my dd1 is more demanding then the baby, she can do all those things you mentioned, she's two and a half but now she's potty trained but she needs my help to wipe or get on the toilet or too empty potty etc, now she can talk she wants me to go with her everywhere, follow her, play etc, she sits on my lap and doesn't want me to pick up dd2 and when she walks she runs off so I have to either abandon buggy or something, bloody nightmare!! I've worked around these issues now as they were dangerous but she can still be like I don't want to be in the pram or I want to sit where dd2 is sitting...... Wink
That being said maybe 3-4 they start to mature hopeful? you could still wait till school age aswell anyway like a lot then it's like just having the one again!
How did the tongue tie thing go red? ( it was you wasn't it?)

Thingymajigs · 06/03/2014 09:47

I can confirm that they only become properly independent at the age of 10. Maybe ten year gaps are the way forward. Grin
Left the house yesterday to go to a BF group. I've never been so happy to walk. Looks like my mobility is slowly returning but it's still early days.
Ds3 is making up for hourly feeds and screaming fits by being an early smiler. They are mainly reserved for his brothers at the moment but its so lovely to see.
How is everyone doing? Any new baby milestones reached?

Thingymajigs · 06/03/2014 11:08

Spoke too soon, back in the doctors. bah. On the bright side I had found myself getting quite into daytime TV anyway.

RedRobin1 · 07/03/2014 05:25

Yes it was me with the tongue tie issue and it's still not sorted as we are on the nhs waiting list to get it fixed. Hopefully soon!

Dd is doing well. Kitty thanks for the tip about waking her early in the morning. I find if I don't wake her between 7-8am in the morning she will play up in the evenings! So yesterday I woke her at 7.30am and she had just the one afternoon nap for 2hrs and she slept at 8pm! I introduced a dream feed at 10pm and she didn't wake up all night for a feed!! I had to eventually wake her at 5am as my boobs were so engorged. But she would have gone longer Smile

Alex dd only cries when he leave her to play on her own in the bouncer or playmat. Anyone know how I can get her used to playing on the playmat on her own for even 10mins! She wants to be held all the time she is awake and she's getting heavier. She cries as soon as I put her down on the playmat :(

OP posts:
Alexandra6 · 08/03/2014 09:04

S went through a stage where she was really happy on her playmat but at the moment she's quite clingy and wants to watch me (it's like having a little stalker haha she's always staring at me!) So when I want to do my hair/make up or clean the kitchen etc, I position her in her swing chair so she can watch me. She doesn't give me long but in a good mood, I can get up to 20mins/half an hour.

We're having good nights at the moment, please let it last! Grin When did everyone else suffer with sleep regressions? And did everyone else suffer with the nights getting worse? We're 13 weeks now. Is there any hope we won't be hit too badly with regressions?!

kittykatsforever · 08/03/2014 20:59

How long do they think it will take red Hmm I thought they just took out a pair of scissors and snip there and then?!
You might be lucky Alex, with dd1 she only woke 3 nights in a row once when she was 17wks and I introduced some baby rice and she never woke again literally, dd2 not so good, she was 14/15wks when she started waking again and I felt too early for weaning so had to start feeding her again then it went from one to two... Never got better until she was well established on solids and I had to sleep train her at about 24weeks, she's brilliant now though those few weeks were really anoying though

kittykatsforever · 08/03/2014 21:01

My other friends have never told me about regression with their babies but they are all formula fed and I do wonder if that's where the difference is in that you can easily give them more milk?

fatasbutter · 10/03/2014 18:28

Hey thingy how are you? Has your pain settled?

Have you got a date yet for the snip yet red?! It is very quick - I wish they could just do it the minute they discover it!

Well ds2 will be 4 weeks old tomorrow!! Can't believe it! Boobs still recovering - he has a very lazy latch sometimes and he can still catch me and really pinch so I'm not totally out of the woods yet and feeding in public is tricky as I really have to watch him latching on... BUT he is adorable and we love him! His smiling is just heart melting!! Just like his brother he really smiles with his eyes, but doesn't seem to like a hovering iphone so I haven't got a really good pic yet!! Plus I would love it if he would take a dummy...!Confused

In my strange all night feeding world I have been checking out some other freds and the ones on mn classics board are pure gold!

twinklestar2 · 12/03/2014 15:24

Hi all

Had my 20 week scan today and all looking good. It's amazing how much you see!

19 weeks pregnant tomorrow :)

kittykatsforever · 13/03/2014 07:52

Ong winkle!!! How are you 19wjs allready!!!!
You resisted finding out the sex then?? Is it starting to get very real

Alexandra6 · 13/03/2014 11:22

Ah congrats winkle Grin The scans are great aren't they. I loved pregnancy. Wonder if I'll love it as much next time round with a little one to look after at the same time! Confused

RedRobin1 · 14/03/2014 18:34

That's lovely news winkle! These scans are amazing aren't they! How was little one doing on the scan? It's amazing seeing them float about and makes everything seem so much more exciting.

Fatas yes we are still waiting to get the snip. Finally got a date in April :-/ will be waiting 3 weeks more. Feeding is going okay but I'm weirdly used to all the yanking and pulling.

Will write more later but hath wanted to pop in to say hello to everyone!

OP posts:
twinklestar2 · 17/03/2014 11:15

I was tempted to find out the sex but resisted; I want the surprise!

I'm at that fab stage where I'm feeling good and normal again. The constant weeing is a nightmare though!

I still have the odd moment of panic where I'm googling about miscarriage and OH is still hesitant about buying stuff but all in all, all good!

Hope you're all getting on ok with your babies! I'll be able to join in the baby chat in a few months!

tedmundo · 17/03/2014 12:22

Twinkle .. Wonderful news about your scan. Glad all looked fine. It is such a relief to get that one out of the way.

I have been busy with illnesses again but I think we are all on the mend now. Both big ones back at school .. To be honest, I think only a missing leg could have persuaded me to let them stay home another day. Even when ill, they are bouncing off the walls.

L is playing with a packet of condoms right now as I MN in the bedroom, stretched out on the bed, being a very passive mummy! I can't be bothered to take them off him and at least he isn't pulling CDs out. I am feeling extremely lazy today!

Today is DSs feast day. Happy st Patricks day everyone.

RedRobin1 · 18/03/2014 19:27

GrinGrinGrin ted I can just imagine condoms flying everywhere ! It is exhausting looking after the one can totally understand when it comes to three!

Dd is getting very clingy and is at the stage where she wants to be held all day and screams bloody murder if I leave the room and put her on the playmat.

She's also struggling to sleep without a swaddle. We have gone from 7 hour stretches to waking every 2 hours as she flails her arms and wakes herself upConfused

twinkle how many weeks are you? I think post 20 weeks the chance of a miscarriage is very very low. And no rush to buy the baby stuff just do it when you are ready! Glad to know the first trimester symptoms have eased off! Enjoy this time and make the most of it. How is the bump coming along? Xx

OP posts:
tedmundo · 18/03/2014 22:58

They are probably well past expiry date anyway! Sleep depravation is a world class contraceptive, eh?!

The laziness yesterday was me starting to come down with a cold. I am full blown snot monster today. Feeling really out of it. Had some co codomal and sinex soother so just waiting for those to kick in before lights out.

Red .. The chaos factor with 3 is starting to wear me out. I am quite a together person, proper make up on every day even for school run type, but they are sooooo much work right now I can feel my standards slipping!! Hair straighteners have not so much as been plugged in for ages so I am channeling my inner beach babe with messy locks instead.

The small folk will not beat me, oh no!!

(I think the codeine is kicking in .. Yummy stuff!!)

kittykatsforever · 19/03/2014 17:31

Oh ted I'm with you Hmm sickness again!! I've not been sick but felt like crap Monday, cold shivvery, hot clammy, banging head then Tuesday dd1 vomit fest! This is the sickest out house has been in years!
Twinkle do you feel bubs now? That was my favourite time, I found once that starts clearly every night you start to let go of most of the paranoia
Red how old is dd? It might be the 4 month sleep regression? Or is she not that old

weechops · 27/03/2014 19:22

Rough couple of weeks :( had littlest chops at children's a&e with suspected meningitis :( he's totally fine but I was sick with worry, and dh was still working away so has to deal with it alone. Other 2 chops had to be farmed out to the neighbours! Think things have caught up with me the last few days as I'm shattered and run down, and for the first time ever feel really overwhelmed :( dh only home for 6 days this trip, so I'm trying to make the most of it and recharge.

God sorry what a depressing post!!

How are things with you lot? Twinkle how's the bump? :)

RedRobin1 · 28/03/2014 10:44

Kitty dd is only 12 weeks old, she was going through a big growth spurt last week. Seems to have settled back into her routine. Thank god for that! Was so shattered as she was doing 6 feeds between 7-7! She's back to one or two feeds a night! That I can cope with.

Got her appointment today for her tongue tie division. So nervous and worried sick about how she will take it. Just pissed off it's taken us so long to get it sorted on the NHS. She's picked up so many and habits while feeding not sure how much of a difference it will make to breastfeeding. But it will help in the long run when it comes to weaning and speech development.

twinkle please tell us more about bump! How's the little bambino doing? Hope you are keeping well.

wee sounds like you've had a rough few days. Hope DH gives you a well
deserved break!

How is everyone else doing? Hello to all - when mrsbri ted kitty thingy alex anyone else I may have missed!

OP posts:
twinklestar2 · 28/03/2014 15:53

How scary, wee, so glad all is ok.

good luck little red for tongue tie op.

I'm doing good. 21 weeks now and cant wait to meet him / her. Bump is starting to look more prominent at the end of the day but in the morning it just looks like I've eaten too much! Feel the baby move sometimes but not regularly. Anyone else remember when they first felt proper movement?
