Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Well done baby Alex!! She's getting close to that 3 month mark where all wind issues improve! She's done well and there's every chance it will stay that way, the better they are at sleeping before teething etc the more likely they are not to be bothered by it, we never had one bad night with dd1 with teeth we would just here a cry once in the night, not crying like a screamy cry just once then the next night there would be a new tooth, dd2 only has two but didn't have any fuss with those, they do usually hit a growth spurt around 4 months that can screw it up abit though which is usually hunger related and when a lot of parents start adding baby rice
Don't let the grand parents make you both feel bad about tending to her, you'd hardly eat better trough screams would you? With dd1 me and dh didn't have a meal together at night for the whole 3 months!

Fatas you won't have ruined your supply with one bottle! Don't worry, stress and tiredness can make a huge impact on expressing so that may be what caused the dwindle, you got abit of respite, enjoy it! It definatly doesn't make you a failure, if you think combination feeding will work for you, do it, some bm is better then non so don't think its one or the other and if you want to ebf you still can, demand increases all the time so that one bottle won't make a difference to it, the girls are right though, however hard it is those first few weeks it gets better and easier after that, dd2 has had a bottle of formula almost every day since she was 4 months but I still bf her now at 9 aswell, with dd1 she was exclusively bf till 6 but then I'd stoped by 7 so I think it evens out

Dam is my hairy method not foolproof lol Confused!!

kittykatsforever · 20/02/2014 07:12

How are you getting on fatas??

tedmundo · 20/02/2014 13:56

fatas I want to echo kitty, mixed feeding is not failing at all, not one bit. I mixed fed for months very happily. But one bottle is not going to change any outcome so be kind to yourself!

It is half term so quite busy. Hope everyone is well. winkle I felt sick until about 19 weeks. It is grim.

Right, we are off to the park as everyone getting cabin fever.

fatasbutter · 20/02/2014 16:08

Thank you for your advice! I was a bit over emotional!! Feeding still a bit of a nightmare painwise but he is such a good baby and so lovely! And I don't feel too bad post c section so I guess that as long as my poor nipples can heal eventually then it is a small price to pay in the long run...! I just dread every feed on the one side, and even expressing is sore so when it's bad it feels like I'm a bit trapped with a ravenous vampire and no spare food!!!

Alexandra6 · 20/02/2014 16:16

Glad he's being a good baby fatas Smile Were you quite chilled and happy in pregnancy by the way? I have a theory that it affects them (stress chemicals etc) and sometimes when mine is demanding or when she used to cry for hours, I wondered if it was due to stress when I was pregnant affecting her as she developed. For this reason I am determined to stay stress free next pregnancy! Having said that, mine is so lovely and content sometimes now, in fact quite a lot of the time - I love seeing her smile more than anything!

fatasbutter · 20/02/2014 16:24

I was quite stressed at the beginning (2 prev miscarriages) but not so much in the middle- then stressed again at the end deciding whether to have A C section, moving house and city and selling 2 properties and buying a house!!
Mind you, my first pregnancy was very low stress and I think this baby is more chilled than he was - I certainly had the same amount of heartburn with both, and plenty of hair when they came out, so possibly that myth is true??!

RedRobin1 · 21/02/2014 08:39

fatas how's feeding going? We went to the NCT breastfeeding session and dd has a suspected tongue tie according to their bf counsellor. Which explains why she chews and clamps and yanks on my nipples. Looking to getting it sorted now and hopefully bfeeding will get easier after :-/

OP posts:
fatasbutter · 21/02/2014 11:13

Ah that's good to have an explanation red and simple to correct too! Feeding slightly improving, slowly - still very sore on one side but the other one is much better - I feel a bit better today thank you (despite almost no sleep last night!!). And I just realised we haven't registered the baby's birth!! Oops! Shock
I will post a pic on FB too ...

kittykatsforever · 22/02/2014 07:31

Looking forward to the photo!
That's good you have a reason red that she might have been struggling, it's so easy to fix a tongue tie so fx you will see improvements really soon

RedRobin1 · 24/02/2014 14:52

Dd is poorly she has her first cold and cough. I think the mucusy green snot is irritating her throat as she coughs now and then. I don't know how to help her. Given her saline drops and stuck her in a steamy bathroom but it's been 3 days now. Anyone know how long it takes them to fight it? Or anything I can do to make her better. Her breathing sounds so bunged up.

She's sleeping loads too. Sleeps most of the day and night. Don't know of that's related to a growth spurt? She started sleeping 5-6hr stretches at night and now just wakes twice for night feeds instead of 4-5times. She's going to be 8 weeks this weekend. Does that sound normal? I can't stop worrying (sigh! The worrying really doesn't end at the ttc stage does it?!)

OP posts:
kittykatsforever · 24/02/2014 19:49

It sounds normal red, maybe she's sleeping more as she's abit poorly, it lucky if she is as coughs and colds can keep them awake. Not much you can do really, I quite like albus oil on a muslin in the room aswell

twinklestar2 · 24/02/2014 20:45

Hey girls, just checking in.

Had 16 week check up and heard baby's heartbeat. Didn't sound like a train or a horse?! So god knows what the sex is! Confused

Still having the odd bit of dry retching but everyone's commenting on how much better I look!

Am in maternity clothes, they're soooo comfortable!

My best friend had a boy this weekend, he's so cute and now I want a boy!

RedRobin1 · 25/02/2014 05:12

I miss my maternity clothes. I didn't buy too many but love my maternity jeans - still wearing them 2 months after birth! They are just so comfy! I lived out of leggings and dresses in the last trimester...so so comfy! Miss them days.

It's lovely listening to the heartbeat isn't it? Did you record it? Dds sounded like horses but I couldn't tell at the time.

16weeks already twinkle! How quick is it going. Have you got a little bump now?

OP posts:
Thingymajigs · 25/02/2014 07:04

You are all crazy, I hate my maternity clothes. Still 10lbs up though so I'm stuck in them for a while. I've just bought some cheap intrim clothes until my old clothes fit again. I'm not sure they ever will though, they look like clothes for tiny people.
16 weeks already twinkle! It's going so fast. It's such a relief to hear the heartbeat isnt it. And I agree, boys are lovely, but I might be slightly biased.
Ds3 caught a cold and we used the snot sucker to help unblock his nose so his feeds weren't disrupted. It has taken two weeks but he's finally better. Hope your dd gets better soon red.
I have postpartum SPD. I can't walk anywhere without shuffling or feeling my pelvis grinding. GP was dismissive as expected so I'm not sure if this is now a permanent mobility problem. I had a good cry yesterday when I thought through the worst case scenarios but DP insists we will pay for as much private treatment as I need to walk properly again.

tedmundo · 27/02/2014 10:16

I have only read the last fe was still catching up .. I survived half term, just about.

thingy that sounds awful and I am so frustrated for you that the gp was dismissive. Could you try to see a different one?

winkle 16 weeks already? It is whizzing by (although possibly not for you!). There must be a bit of a bump by now? Give it a rub from me (brings luck apparently!). Are you getting any flutters yet?

fatas see, you must stop posting such cute baby pictures as I promised DH I would stop at 3. But that just makes me broody again! So so cute.

red lucky you on the sleeping. Don't even try to analyse it as it will all be different next week anyway. Just when you think they have a 'routine' it all goes tits up and it is back to the drawing board! 8 weeks is a Gorgeous age. Lots of smiles. And they stay still. Hmmm.

kitty and alex and anyone else I have missed give those chubby cheeks a squeeze from me! The weeks are flying by aren't they?

Bruce is now walking. I am proud and gutted in equal measures. He won't take puree anymore, wants to do all eating himself. The baby bit is slowly slipping away. I am beginning to feel the toddler in him (the unreasonable, stroppy side) showing through. Who knew that being zipped into a snowsuit was so disagreeable? And I am apparently bang out of order trying to, you know, keep him alive by strapping him into a car seat. It makes every journey wearying.

And with that, I had better go and strap him into the car seat (oh the horror!!) as we are meeting dh for lunch.

RedRobin1 · 27/02/2014 21:24

ted you were sadly right - the sleeping stretches didn't last long and she's back to 4 feeds between 7-7 and the feeds are quick but my lovely dd is a poopy baby so every feed involves a nappy change (she poos almost every feed) which means she wakes up wide awake at night and takes ages to settle. I have had to turn the hair dryer on in the end so she will go back to sleep :( why does she poo so much! She's not got diarrhoea and GP said its normal.

By the way do you all tip toe around your homes at night? I have to change into pjs in the guest room in fear of waking her up in our bedroom! I am too scared to even flush upstairs in case she wakes up.

OP posts:
RedRobin1 · 27/02/2014 21:27

Gosh! Bruce was just sitting up and crawling a few months back! It must be amazing to see him walk. I know what you mean about the baby bit slipping away each day. Haven't put dd in an outfit yet but will make an attempt next week when she will be 2 months old. We have only dressed her in baby grows so far and I'm still reluctant to put her in an outfit.

OP posts:
weechops · 28/02/2014 20:54

Time really is flying by!! Little guy is 10 weeks old and suffering through a rotten cold :( hoping it doesn't turn into bronchiolitis or something else nasty, his chest sounds a bit wheezy :(

Tomorrow will be the first time I've left him for any length of time - got a spa day and lunch :)

One of the girls on my mums group ( all December babies) is pregnant again and due November! Got me thinking if any of us will be trying for another soon - obviously MrsBri has :)

I wouldn't say never!

kittykatsforever · 28/02/2014 21:18

I want another wee, dh not so much Hmm

resipsa · 01/03/2014 00:32

Kitty - 3, really? Go for it!

kittykatsforever · 01/03/2014 07:19

It's because I'm one of three res and my theory is along as you had a happy childhood you always want what you had and I love being pregnant and getting a lovely new baby and my girls just fill me with so much love! I think I might need a willing participant though Wink would be a good idea to wait Untill dd1 is atleast at school aswel, not sure 3 at under 4 would be my best ideaGrin

resipsa · 01/03/2014 14:21

My friend (also one of three) had three under 3. Didn't look easy but she was always smiling...

kittykatsforever · 01/03/2014 20:28

I think it would be hard but in away good to have them all close, mum had us all under three aswell but spends her life telling us not to do the same Confused
Might have to make my peace with having two, is it bad that part of why is just how guilty work would make me feel Hmm

twinklestar2 · 02/03/2014 19:01

Hey all

I do have a small bump now, it feels really hard. I swear I am feeling something in there but it feels like youre imagining it at first.

Def got more energy now which is great but overdid it yesterday I think so have been resting all day... Might as well make the most of it while I can!

Glad to hear youre all ok :)

Met some friends yesterday and they gave me presents for the baby, it's so lovely :)

Alexandra6 · 03/03/2014 09:24

red I totally creep around the house each evening and night! Poor DH is just naturally noisy and always getting told off Wink

I've had S in babygrows up until now, but I've just started trying dresses - went for a champagne lunch deal (very yummy mummy) on Friday and S wore the first dress I've bought for her, so cute.

She's 3 months now and generally sleeping from around 8/9pm to 7/8am with two or three wake up feeds in between. Does that sound ok? I'm actually happy with that and the gina ford book can bugger off, telling me she should be sleeping through!

Oh and we're thinking about leaving things up to fate with ttc for #2. I know a small gap would be really hard and I def won't be ready for another ever anytime soon BUT DH is 38 and it took us 16 months and clomid to get pregnant before so maybe we should just bite the bullet!
