Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ha ha ted that's why I didn't say at the time as there was so many of us to give birth still and I didn't want to scare / put off sorry thingy winkle fatas but I was super unlucky, apparently the epidural headache is a 1 in 100 chance but the doctor who did my patch said that bar one he'd done I think the month before he hadn't seen one in 10 years as most fix themselves so I was just super unlucky Hmm my first epidural was amazing I had the best birth with dd1 and in fairness it was a really good birth with dd2 it just was crap that I got that 24 hours later but the anthetist at the time told me shed done it wrong and to expect a headache ( she failed to tell me it would be a mind crushing pain that was my brain hitting my skull mind or I'd need almost a coke bottle size amount of my own blood pumped into my spine to fix it bitch ) still aside from that it wasn't too bad ..... Grin
Sympathies for poor baby Bruce, there's nothing worse then a poorly baba you can't explain illness too! On the plus side dd2 was good last night but can someone come and tell my 2 and a half year old that you don't shout to wake mummy up at midnight for a bottle when you are this age!!

twinklestar2 · 27/01/2014 21:55

I hoe you don't mind but I've skim read the last few posts about giving birth, etc! Too scary to contemplate!

Thx for best wishes I will let you all know how it goes.

Am in bed - have had a terrible headache (like I was getting early on in pregnancy) and have had bad retching. Being horizontal helps!

Also I'm no longer on medication (have to take it up until 12 weeks of pregnancy) so yay!

fatasbutter · 27/01/2014 22:38

Ouch kitty that sounds awful - I'm having a spinal rather than an epidural (unless things really go astray from the plan!!!) so hopefully won't have that happen, but there are plenty of other thins that could go wrong I'm sure!!

So sorry to hear about your wound infection red - unfortunately they are relatively common compared with any other complication of caesarean as far as the obstetric consultant said to me - it is truly rubbish to have this ruin your first few days/weeks with your new baby though and I'm keeping my fx for you very very tightly that the abs wipe it all out and you are a new woman ASAP

And winkle good luck tomorrow Smile

Poor Bruce ted - I hope dr dishy has dished out the miracle cure so you can all return to normality soon too Sad

kittykatsforever · 28/01/2014 07:10

It's Christmas........ Grin
Good luck winkle

Thingymajigs · 28/01/2014 07:18

Good luck twinkle! Smile
Hope the infection clears up soon red. x
That sounds awful kitty. Shock I have had two normal births with gas and air but I'm playing with the idea of an epidural this time. Assuming that it is administered correctly, what can I expect? Will I be able to move and walk around, use the toilet? Will I be able to leave soon afterwards or will I have to stay in for a night?

kittykatsforever · 28/01/2014 09:13

Thingy even though I had a bad side effect I'm still really pro epidural, both my birth experiences were really good the side effect only happened 48hrs after dd2 but I was warned it probably would, first time I couldn't feel anything really although v v mild contractions when I was about to push and I mean mild!! Second I topped it up a few times as although wasn't in pain I could feel contractions, particulaly at the end but couldn't feel her come out if that makes sence, it was like I could feel contractions but not my fanjo but apparently that's the best way, personally I was quite happy with number one where I was just reading magazine with tea and toast Wink, they do have to put a catheter in although you don't feel it and you have to stay in overnight, you will be able to walk a few hours after birth although you might be abit wobbly, it's fantastic if you need stitches or anything as you won't feel a thing and I've never had pain after either, the only reason I think they say more people need intervention with them is because you don't get the same urge to push so I was told by sis not mw that when it was time don't just half heartily do it as your not in pain you don't get the same sence of effort or urgency but really push with a you've got, she hadn't realised you only get an hour so when they said we are going to get assistance as you've been pushing an hour she was like well I've not been trying ill get him out now as I'm not having forceps! They have her 20 mins and he was out in 10, I had no problems with either dd1 1 hour and dd2 5 mins Grin

Thingymajigs · 28/01/2014 10:05

Thanks Kitty. They don't sound too bad then. I like the idea of eating tea and toast instead of manically sucking gas and air for hours. Apart from having to stay in overnight which I'm not keen on but then again I might have to anyway depending on when baby decides to arrive. Pushing has never been an issue with me but I tend to have very long 1st stages which drags on all day so I thought I might spare myself that this time. I've definitely not ruled it out so I guess I'll just see how it goes and how long its taking. Still hopeful for a sneeze birth at this stage though.
Wonder how twinkle is getting on...

kittykatsforever · 28/01/2014 10:15

I keep checking for updates lol Grin

twinklestar2 · 28/01/2014 10:31

Hey all everything ok with scan. Thanks for thinking of me :) x

resipsa · 28/01/2014 11:21
Smile
RedRobin1 · 28/01/2014 11:26

Lovely newstwinkle tell us more Smilehow was baby winkle?

I remember feeling like shit and pukey going in for the scan. And just having it all wash over when I saw Eva floating around on the screen. Aww nostalgic!

My infection is clearing up. Kitty your dd2 birth sounds traumatic too. I'm terrified of caesarean for life. Although on the mend now so feeling much better. But the first 3 weeks with dd are a blur. I don't think I have been this emotional in a long time. Hopefully will be able to forget the trauma and consider doing it all over again one day! Yikes!!!!

Yay winkle that's great news! Hope you are feeling better now!

Hey res - how are you? Long time no 'see' - how we have missed you x

twinklestar2 · 28/01/2014 14:05

It was weird to think that's inside me. Still feel surreal. Baby wasn't moving around much - its lazy like me!

have been telling all close friends today, its the best feeling ever!

kittykatsforever · 28/01/2014 15:45

Ahhh reminisces sounds good winkle, it's over so quick though isn't it, did they give you a new due date or the same? Is the nub visable? Have you guessed the sex can we?
Res how are you, we miss you here!
Red good to hear its on the mend, you will forget it I promise, I can't remember mine at all now but I know at the time I was crying a lot after 6 months you won't remember these early days x

Thingymajigs · 28/01/2014 15:52

Great news! Smile What sort of reactions did you get from friends and family? I'll never forget when we gave MIL a birthday card with the scan pic. She was so excited she started crying and had to have a sit down, bless her.

twinklestar2 · 28/01/2014 23:14

Due date has changed to 7th aug from 10th Aug.

its been fab telling people! Nobody suspected! A couple of friends cried which is sweet!

resipsa · 28/01/2014 23:25

Ah winkle, that's lovely. Grin

Thanks for the thoughts, fats and kitty. As Winkle knows already, I hoped to join you all here after a last-gasp-of-2013 BFP in mid-Dec (frenemy at uni always said that I liked to make an entrance!) but I had an early miscarriage confirmed by scan on NYE so it wasn't to be. Would have been nice.

Glad to read you are all doing so well and have chosen lovely names.

RedRobin1 · 29/01/2014 04:49

res so sorry to hear that :( a very big hug to you Thanks

So sorry to hear that res. x Thanks

kittykatsforever · 29/01/2014 08:11

Oh res that's heartbreaking Hmm so sorry for your loss Thanks

fatasbutter · 29/01/2014 10:09

Oh res that is just not fair- I'm so sorry too. You deserve to be here just as much as we do. Massive hugs xxxx

resipsa · 29/01/2014 12:21

Thanks you lot but I don't want to cast a shadow on your happy thread! The worst bit was when my dog died less than two weeks later Sad. Anyway, the year has to get better and I will do my best to join you before yours all start school Grin. I have to say that when DD is in full on 'I've just turned 3 and rule the roost' mode, I wonder if 1 is enough.

BlearyeyedLol · 29/01/2014 13:47

I love your positive attitude res. and I do hope you can join us soon!
Excellent news twinkle. I bet you can't believe it's all real!!!!! Why don't you join our fb group then we can see your scan pic!!!!
Have you all seen mrsbri's news on fb????

tedmundo · 29/01/2014 15:04

winkle .. Ohh how very lovely! A smashing scan, telling people and making them cry. Wins all round!

res .. I am so sorry to hear about the m/c. I really hope that you join us here very, very soon.

Bruce is on another course of anti bs (have I already bored you about this??) and has either learned the moaning and high maintenance behaviour, or is actually still feeling ill.l. Either way, he is testing me at the moment. Love him? Yes, as high as the sky. Like him right now? Not so much!

Are you all in a FB group? I have an account but never use it. Despite a career in IT software implementation, I just don't get social networking. It is probably my advanced age. 39 today

kittykatsforever · 29/01/2014 19:17

Yes ted we have a secret group Grin do you want to be in our gang??
And god yy to the squels and screams!!! I'm wondering if dd2 has learnt it as a way of getting what she wants as she doesn't seem ill now Hmm. Whatever I'm really over it and dd1 has taken to it in a way to get herself heard now
