Enjoy your trip! I traveled to New York when 7 months pregnant with my daughter. It was a bit uncomfortable but not too bad.

Found out today my car is knackered so the holiday to Cyprus we were going to book is now cancelled. Shit. Really disappointed (but my car is old and crap so not too surprised!).
I have consultant on Friday because I had a serious liver problem in my first pregnancy. Fingers crossed or doesn't come back. Don't think it's likely to but still a bit concerned.

bLooming2 · 14/01/2014 22:19

hi all inglorious did you have oc colastasis probs spelt wrong with last ??

Trinpy · 15/01/2014 07:05

kata god yes - must remember pelvic floor exercises. I keep forgetting.

churros glad you got the mat allowance sorted. I'm still waiting for my work to send me my mat b1 form back. Will have to chase up. Is it only people earning below a certain amount that don't get the full weekly mat allowance? It's all so confusing!

hope everything goes ok on Friday Inglori0us.

LightTripper · 15/01/2014 13:27

Pelvic floor exercises are about the one bit of my physio that I am actually managing to do every day (though apparently you are supposed to do 5 sets of 10 holds for 10 seconds each, every day, and I am definitely not always managing the full five sets! Plus, it turns out, 10 seconds is longer than you think. Plus, it turns out, I lose count very easily).

I had a good incentive though, because after my back went in December I found that every time I coughed (which was a lot in the evenings because I coughed every time I was nauseous) I had ... erm... a small problem. So I am now a fully paid up Tena lady Blush

All I can say is the pelvic floor exercises have DEFINITELY helped with that. If I do 3 or more sets each day I can get the problem down to basically zero, but if I miss a day or two it starts to come back... so I definitely recommend doing it, for that reason alone!

Luckily the cough is nearly gone now, but I'm sticking with the Kegels!!

I had the same problem Light Blush . Caught a horrible cough back in November that stuck with me for over a month. Definitely a great incentive to do pelvic floor exercises. Thank god I was off work at the time, I would have been mortified to have a 'tena moment' at work. Joys of pregnancy...

I'm dithering over whether to try to carry on working for the next 3 weeks or ask to be signed off sick. I'm in so much pain from the spd again. On Monday I hid in a stock room and had a little cry to myself because I'm so miserable. On the other hand I do enjoy work (now the ends in sight) and its useful to have my full wage for these last few weeks. I haven't been in my current job for long and I'm worried everyone will think I'm lazy if I don't keep up with the work.

Misty9 · 15/01/2014 22:06

I'm trying to remember my pelvic floor exercises. I vividly remembering practically peeing myself while on a trampoline....before having any babies Blush

Can't remember who asked, but I'm planning a homebirth after my midwife said its fine (despite consultant advising against, but still low risk so can go ahead). Can't decided whether to bother with the pool part or not though - I don't really like swimming, but it's hardly the same I suppose?!

Finished work yesterday! Woohoo! Short term contract and nothing else lined up now until after baby. Time for the real hard work to start, looking after ds 2.4yo full time again Grin

Hope your SPD improves trinpy mine is grumbling along with the odd flare up.

28wks (is that 3rd tri then?!)

LeeHandy · 16/01/2014 08:10

pelvic exercises! I wonder why I never thought of that during all the tena moments I have been having..Blush I am starting them right now.
enjoy your babymoon, spring! hope it's somewhere lovely. Grin
dh is finally convinced that his parents should be told not to visit until a month after baby arrives. they are so excited about their first grand child that they wanted to be here before the due date so they didn't miss anything!
They are nice people but I did not want them in the house when I was going to be a mess looking after a new baby. I am much happier to have my mum around because I know I can be cranky and unreasonable with her and it's fine.

Sorry the SPD is still bad Trinpy. It must be so hard to know what to do. Part of me would be saying "hang in it's only 3 weeks and has advantages" - but the other part of me says if you are so unhappy you are crying in stock rooms then the advantages may not be big enough to make it worth while. Do you work Mon-Fri? If so is it worth just trying to make it through to the weekend, and then if you are still unhappy at the end of the weekend resolving to talk to your manager on Monday, maybe with a view to finishing that week and then going off? That would be 1 more week full pay and the end would well and truly be in sight?

I seem to be running very behind with the whole pregnancy schedule. I'm still on nausea phase (blech), but on the bright side other than a hasty taste in my mouth from the afternoon it's just evenings (and only really a problem from say 8-9pm most days) no trouble sleeping yet and am going through a fairly energetic phase (thankfully, I have so much work to get done before I go!!!)

Also, and most excitingly, we're more than half way through the week!! Am going to have lunch with one of my best friends on Saturday: her kids are a bit older and she has offered us a cot and maybe even a chest of drawers and some other bits, which would be a great help!

trinpy I agree with light. in the larger scheme of things working for 3 weeks more is not going to make that much difference and in my opinion it's much better to be as relaxed and happy as possible at this stage.

Sorry to hear you're still feeling sick Light. I wish pregnancy books wouldn't always say that sickness goes away after 1st tri/you won't feel like a beached whale until the last few weeks/etc - it's obviously not true!

I think you're right to ask your PiL not to visit straight away. It's the one time when you really need some time to yourselves to get the hang of looking after a newborn. Plus newborns are a lot more interesting for visitors after the first month.

Thanks for your advice re the spd. I'm seeing my physio tomorrow so hopefully I will feel a bit better after that. I think I'm going to do another week then call it a day.

Hello all. Waiting to see consultant now.

Bloom no I didn't have cholastasis, although they thought I might for a while. My daughter was a very long baby and kicked my liver a lot causing it to get damaged and stop working properly. As my symptoms stopped as soon as she was born there was no follow up. It didn't occur to me to have it checked.
I'm still working 4 days, and am planning to keep going as long as possible as I'm self employed. Tired though. Would love a big rest!
13 weeks to go!
:)

Inglori0us · 18/01/2014 08:40

Morning. I've been freaking out since yesterday. Bump is measuring 6 weeks over. I'm being sent for growth scan and GTT a week on Monday. I'm very worried.

nevergoogle · 18/01/2014 11:57

Hi inglorious. I'm the same. I'm 28 weeks but measuring 31. Midwife going to remeasure in a couple of weeks but likely for growth scan and GTT if getting big too quickly.
I'm trying to view it as drama for the sake of drama that'll turn out to be nothing to worry about.
As i'm already booked for a c-section at 39 weeks I doubt it will affect the outcome in the long run.
Try not to worry.

patsy375 · 18/01/2014 16:23

Try not to worry inglorious.
And def try not to Google too much!
The main thing is they've picked up on it up nice and early and they're looking into it.
Take care.

Thanks ladies. I'm feeling better this evening. My midwife came this evening and has put my mind at rest. (:

Trinpy · 18/01/2014 23:31

Glad to hear you're feeling better about it now Inglorious. No point worrying
at this stage. Keep us updated.

Vikkijayne2507 · 19/01/2014 01:24

im measuring bigger than I should and weigh more I am trying not to worry as well plus I just did a gt test and have another scan on 31st si it'll get picked up if it's problem and yours will as well. 28 + 4 weeks as it's past midnight

LeeHandy · 19/01/2014 08:54

it's hard, but try not to worry inglorious. it's a good thing that this has been picked up and you are having the right tests. my friend was telling me last night that both her children measured large and had to be delivered by c-section 3 weeks early when they were already 8 pounds but both were perfectly healthy and are now a very average sized 6 and 3 years old.
30 weeks tmw!

Welcome to the new ladies :-)

We have been for a 4D scan this morning. She was very comfy snuggled up against the placenta which made it hard to get a really good view but it was still really lovely to see her. She's weighing on average too which is good to know.
