You other mothers can't deny,
When a girl walks in with an ever expanding waist
And a round thing in your face
You....'d better give her some cake....

etc, etc,

New thread! Enjoy!

misskat yes on the pee thing! All the time lately, so frustrating especially hauling myself up stairs to sit on the loo expecting niagra falls and ending up with nothing more than a trickle

Was lying on the sofa watching tv with belly exposed this evening and saw baby wriggling around for the first time! Still can't work out body parts but it was definitely having a good old party in there!

About 17 days left in the office for me, assuming I get 2days working from home a week. Argh all seems v close now!

My new panic is how many newborn sleep suits/vests to have. I have 6 of each in newborn and oodles of 0-3mths. Feeling like I need more newborn as surely 6 will only last 2 days max before I run out??

pettyprudence · 02/12/2013 21:53

Ruey what size are you? I have a black jersey fake wrap dress with some sequinny bits on the shoulders and hip that I wear with heels, diamanté and lots of red lipstick! like this one Its a size 16 I think. I can loan it to you after 15th December? Otherwise Ebay have a good selection! (which reminds me I need to list dh's tux to catch the christmas party crowd!)

Can't remember who asked but I am stripping all the the ceiling, walls and floors in dining room to decorate and get ready for our first christmas in our first proper home! We will also be hosting 8 of us for the first time ever too so really could do with a dining room - its the last room for me to make "usable". There will still be lots overall to do in the house but after this I can relax a bit. Hallway/stairs/landing in new year and then outside in spring. I am a demon for DIY Grin

Unplastered · 02/12/2013 21:58

Ruey what's the budget? Www.seraphine.com have some lovely ones... But over £100.

Jazz... The washer will be going every single day for th next 3 years minimum anyway! I'd start with about 8 in newborn. People will buy outfits as gifts. Also they are not usually in newborn very long - at 9lb 1oz birth weight my DD went into 0-3 almost immediately.

winterflowers · 02/12/2013 22:18

gnitting hope the house viewing went well!

The wc vaccine isn't live bare so it should be fine to have whenever. I'm not a dr though so it is probably worth calling to check before you go?

petty I'm so impressed! No way I'd be able to do it but sounds like it'll be so worth it.

Im another with the same bladder issues. It seems to happen also in the night when I roll onto my right. Then drag myself with my 80yr hobble.to the loo for no reason. Not impressed with the LO for that! Angry

bugsyburge · 03/12/2013 05:23

grrrr another one here who randomly wakes up wide awake in the middle of the night....I want to sleeeeeeep!!!!!Envy

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 05:30

Morning! Wide awake too. Angry

sunflowered · 03/12/2013 05:54

At least if we were having summer babies we'd be able to watch the sun rise... I think the darkness just makes waking up at this time even worse.

I've got the opposite sleep problem this morning - first good night's sleep for ages and alarm went off at 5 to get me up in time to do the actual work I need to do today (instead I'm locked into a 'must attend' workshop all day, a really relevant one as it's talking about strategic stuff for the year i won't be there) Angry (but Grin for only 24 working days to go!! Don't think boss has twigged quite how excited I am to be leaving...)

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 06:10

True, but when we have our babies (aaaaargh we're having BABIES) the nights will be getting longer, so that will make getting up ridiculously early easier for then at least Smile

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 06:12

Oh and in only have 6 working days before Christmas hols now! (But back to it again in January Hmm)
That's the office job anyway - not counting my self-employment stuff, but best not to as it's entirely unpredictable and that doesn't work well with achieving goals/ticking things off!

sunflowered · 03/12/2013 06:35

Very true notone! Most things feel a lot better when there's a bit of daylight to enjoy.

I'm looking forward to regularly eating breakfast on those beautiful late spring mornings at 10am on the (as yet unbuilt) patio with a peaceful, napping baby beside me.

sunflowered · 03/12/2013 06:36

ps - where's the aaaaargh real babies emoticon when you need it. I still wake up most mornings and think maybe I've overdone it on the flapjacks and chips.

rueyrichardson · 03/12/2013 07:04

Thanks Petty and Unplastered. Budget is as low as I can get away with, I think it will be an eBay job. I'm a size 12. It will all be about the accessories Grin

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 08:09

Argh- had dozed
Off again at 7am and just got woken by a ninja calf cramp. I'd liken it to being woken by a bear trap that someone snuck in under the duvet.
This begs the question - what is more painful: full on calf cramp or second stage labour contraction?! If the contraction then I'm farked. Hmm

Thingymajigs · 03/12/2013 08:13

I think full on intense cramp is about the same as second stage contractions. That is basically what a contraction is but you get something amazing at the end of it.

gnittinggnome · 03/12/2013 08:33

ruey I got a lovely, full-length chiffon tent dress from Crave for around 40 quid, which is quite plain but can be very easily glammed up with accessories, in my case a silvery belt under the boobs, nail polish and a pretty necklace. ASOS have a fairly good selection, although I'd be careful of the fabrics. But yes, I think something plain, ooops, sorry, "classic" with some fabulous accessories has the be the simplest way to go. My tent is going to do me for every formal occasion till April, I reckon!

And we're putting an offer in on the house! Fingers crossed!

LovesToBake · 03/12/2013 09:24

notone sorry to hear about the ninja cramp, but it's funny you should ask that because when I was writhing around with hideous cramp in both legs the other night which started down the front of my shins and then gathered pace around the sides to my calves, I randomly declared to DH that it was worse than childbirth. Of course he is delighted to have this little snippet of information and will now remind me every time he gets cramp... But to answer your question, I seriously don't think contractions are any worse and at least they come and go so you get respite between each one and you can prepare yourself to expect the next one!

marzipanned · 03/12/2013 10:11

petty can you come and live at my house for a while? Full board provided in return for DIY magic.

gnitting that's fab news about the house - glad you liked it! Good luck!

Interesting to hear about what contractions are like on the pain scale! Cramp I think I can deal with (maybe have never had ninja cramp...)

31 weeks today, all the Feb 4th-ers Grin

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 10:38

Lovesto and thingy - thanks! And at least contractions I get a bit of warning and potential of pain relief! I've got a very sore calf now. My muscles don't like being into action that aggressively without a warning I think!
Gnitting - got fingers and toes crossed for you! Very exciting. Where in Walthamstow is it?

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 10:42

Ps I use to get cramp in my toes all the time from keeping them pointed in training, but that's literally nothing compared to my whole leg going! I would grit my teeth through toe cramp and carry on (when you're 10ft up a rope you have to really, for safety!) but leg cramp is incomparable to anything else I've experienced. Shock I shall be eating a lot of bananas heated in the microwave with lashings of Nutella today to ward it off! (Oh and had a dream last night we had a girl and DH wanted to call her Nutella)

Littleen · 03/12/2013 11:32

polkadot I'm hoping to have a shiny clean flat atleast! hehe..

can't say I find leg cramps that bad :o perhaps I've adjusted - have had them several nights a week for years, no idea why really :) But they never las more than 30sec max though!

notone call her nutella!!

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 11:46

it's a boy though so sadly it just wouldn't be appropriate... Wink
Just had to order a 34I bra. Pre pg I was a 30 E or 32 DD. Dark times.

notoneforselfies · 03/12/2013 11:46

(if I can't now breastfeed it'll be a case of the biggest case of false advertising ever)

skibear · 03/12/2013 13:38

Another supporter of cake with a Feb due date - checking in!

sunflowered · 03/12/2013 14:47

ruey I've got a lacey little black number from jojo maman - website wom't work on my phone so can't link, but apparently it "doesn't look like a maternity dress". Not sure if it'll look as good at 8 months as 6 though. Have a 10% off code if you're intrrested in anynof their stuff Smile

sunflowered · 03/12/2013 14:48

oops - posted too soon. Meant to say...

gnitting fingers crossed for the house!

notone you could go for nutello as a male version?

and hi to skibear Smile
