Okay I don't like to run out of things, even threads, so here's the new one.

Can't remember who described their baby kicking like an octopus but it's very true :)

OP posts:

But just think winter on Christmas day we'll only be 7 months and therefore definitely free of all those late-trimester aches and pains the 8-monthers will be complaining about

Am still amazed that we're talking about 7 months already. It feels about 3 weeks since I made my first nervous steps onto this board after poas about 20 times in a day and still not being convinced I was preg. Still not sure I've got my head around being an actual parent in the next few weeks Confused

ThanksThanksThanksThanks Wow thanks for the scrolly info :) Grin

Hi. Ages since I've posted but have read everything.
7 months will be around 30 and a half weeks for us. It varies a bit depending on which months you are pregnant. Pregnancy is usually 9 calendar months and 6ish days but for us it's only 9 calendar months and 4 days because we are not pregnant over the end of the shortest month (feb - 28 days). All the months we've been pregnant are 30 or 31 days so we've already done those extra two days in whole months if you see what I mean.

Weight wise- I've put on 1st 9 already which sounds horrendous. My starting BMI was only 20.1 and is now 23.9 though which doesn't sound half as bad. Reckon I'll hit 3 stone by the end though!

Poppy954 · 26/11/2013 19:03

This is useful for a feb baby.

27 weeks = 6.2m
28 weeks = 6.4m - 70%
29 weeks = 6.7m
30 weeks = 6.9m - 75%
31 weeks = 7.1m
32 weeks = 7.4m - 80%
33 weeks = 7.6m
34 weeks = 7.8m - 85%
35 weeks = 8.1m
36 weeks = 8.3m - 90%
37 weeks = 8.5m
38 weeks = 8.7m - 95%
39 weeks = 9m
40 weeks = 9.2m - 100%

EeyoreIsh · 26/11/2013 19:07

Thanks poppy, that means I will be 7 months on Thursday. woohoo! Can't believe it's come by so fast (after 20 slow weeks at the start of feeling shit).

Off to screwfix now. I really know how to party!

Poppy954 · 26/11/2013 19:08

Oh and I've been recommended this. Not sure how it works or if it's any good though.

Just worked it out and I've only got 7 days left at work now!!! GrinGrinGrin

Littleen · 26/11/2013 20:31

Biscuit looks like a boob to me! :P

Today I am 3 months away from due date, so 6 months! :P Due date laaate in february eh!

Poppy My physio recommended getting a satin sheet to put lose on top of the normal sheet, so it's easier to turn around! Your post just reminded me, so might pop to town and get one now.

I've gained 6 pounds in 8 days back in England, eating out loads >< This has now put me up to what my midwife said I should gain throughout the whole pregnancy, and I have 3 months left!! Waaah

I've been using this website to calculate my weight gain, and whilst it's always been at the top of the scale, it's within the scale, so I'm not too bothered. Am planning on tacking quite a few extra kilos onto my post-baby weight loss!

gnittinggnome · 26/11/2013 21:34

And huzzah for low countdowns of remaining days at work! Smile

SugarMiceInTheRain · 26/11/2013 22:06

Whilst I don't start Maternity Leave until a couple of days before due date, as I only do my 'employed' work alternate Saturdays and have 2 shifts of holiday still to take, it means I only have 3 shifts left - hurrah! However, my self-employed job will carry on as long as I can and be starting as soon after the baby's birth as I feel able. Boo Sad Luckily that'll only be a couple of evenings, but still...

I seem to have another unappealing pregnancy symptom to add to my list of woes - indigestion/ acid reflux. Have never ever had this in previous pregnancies and it's horrible!

It's arrived: I can no longer sleep on my back. I know this because when I do so it feels like I'm wearing a too-tight shirt collar, in that my head (and neck veins) feels like it's swelling up with blood. Which I guess it is as I also go bright red! Kind if like being slowly throttled without the throttling! So if you were wondering if you still could or not - your body definitely tells you when it's time to stop!

Somanychanges · 26/11/2013 22:56

Since I last looked on here there has been almost 100 posts. That will take me a while to get through. So for now hope all is well with all babies and ladies.

Littleen · 26/11/2013 23:02

I've got acid reflux too! Suddenly started 3 nights ago, keeping me up all night, and I'm allergic to gaviscon :( :( so frustrating!

sunflowered · 26/11/2013 23:15

I'm awake too chanpagne - fast asleep on sofa at 8.30 but the transfer to bed has woken me up. On the plus side, dh has felt some v satisfying kicks so has gone to sleep happy Smile

Am abit worried about my gaviscon consumption-might have to go to gp for something stronger but it's such a hassle getting an appointment.

Shropshiremummy2B · 26/11/2013 23:31

sunflowered they're working cockers one brown one black. Your lucky parents, coming to the party capital of the world for new year!! What's the occasion and where's my invite??! Something tells me il be in bed before ten this year.

bugsyburge · 26/11/2013 23:50

Wowsers youve been a chatty bunch, it's taken me over two hours to catch up.

Dh whisked me away to Shropshire for a surprise weekend to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.... was so lovely to chill out with a log fire & take to dog on long country walks..... the little one seemed to enjoy it too because they were having a disco- it's so lovely to be able to see them wriggling through the skin now Smile I was cuddled up to Dh one night and he felt the baby kick through his back...must have wanted more room Grin
sorry to hear some of you are still feeling crappy
shrops sorry to hear about your nan
miskat I hope you're feeling more chilled now

I've booked for my whooping cough at 32 weeks but the info does seem confusing!!!!

had anyone else been going to the nhs antenatal classes? how have you found them? mine have been completely pointless; they seem to have very definite ideas of what they think you should do and then just hammer that home for 2 hours ie drug free labour/breastfeeding. I had hoped to make some friends out of it but there isn't much time for interaction, it's more of a seminar so all in all I'm a bit disappointed

Sassy20 · 27/11/2013 06:02

Bloody insomnia and heartburn - between them I've been awake since 3am! No sign of sleep yet despite being knackered and need to be up in a couple of hours for work. Roll on 11th December - my last day at work before leave / mat leave. Smile

Shropshiremummy2B · 27/11/2013 07:27

bugsy where did you get married and where did you stay this weekend? Sounds lovely. Dead jeal.

I'm a bit sick of entertaining, I never thought I'd say that. I'm trying to cram in dinner parties before my social life takes a nose dive but finding I just don't have the energy. Why did I offer to have friends to stay all weekend and have a fake Christmas Day? I'm such a bellend.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 27/11/2013 07:46

Just a reminder to all with heartburn, if you haven't already tried it - Zantac (brand name for ranitidine) may be better for you and it's just a tablet you swallow. I've long ditched Gaviscon and the Zantac is working wonders! I know you can get it prescribed but so far I've just bought at the supermarket/chemist.

Thisisfreakingmeout · 27/11/2013 08:25

bugsy I think the NHS antenatal classes are really luck of the draw. I have had 1 of 2 and it was great but largely down to the midwife leading who was open minded and fun. Shame yours are not so good.

Are there any pregnancy clubs run by your local NHS? I have heard they can be more useful as it is a chance to chat to mums & midwives and they have guest speakers sometimes (in my area). They are a good chance toast little questions that don't warrant a phone call to the midwife.

sunflowered · 27/11/2013 08:40

Thanks lastnight - might try that if I can't get in with the gp this side of christmas (free on prescription would be handy though!)

Shropshire they're heading to an unsuspecting residential road in Shrewsbury (home of uncle and aunt) where they'll drink too much prosecco, eat too much party food and reminisce about the old days. They'll also probably be asleep by 10, sadly it'll be because of the prosecco. It's a sad thought when you realise your parents are going to have a wilder night out than you.

misskatamari · 27/11/2013 09:25

Ladies with heartburn definitely get some Zantac! I live on the stuff with occasional tesco antacid chalky tablets.

If you can't get to the docs try getting a phone appointment - or you might even be able to do a prescription request which is what I did recently. I had already had it prescribed but it wasn't on repeat and I just filled in a form saying I wanted some and picked up the prescription a coupe I days later. Much easier than faffing with an appointment and now I have 60 tablets to keep me going Grin

You can get the tablets in supermarkets anyway tho so if no time for docs try and pick some up there, they are amazing!
