Okay I don't like to run out of things, even threads, so here's the new one.

Can't remember who described their baby kicking like an octopus but it's very true :)

Gaviscon is amazing stuff. Shame it tastes so gross.

Thingy I don't think there's any other way if having both jabs. They have to be in different arms I think Wink

notoneforselfies · 25/11/2013 20:23

Yeah it does take 2 weeks for the protective antibodies to fully develop to their peak, and then they start decreasing after those 2 weeks. So I'm having at 34 weeks and keeping my legs crossed until 36 weeks - a bit of a gamble I won't be premature I suppose which is why some midwives wouldn't be fans! Hoping it doesn't hurt too much. Never even felt my flu jab so fingers crossed that bodes well. GTT in a few weeks too. When thy say turn up starved - mine is in the morning: Do I just skip breakfast or do I need to skip dinner the night before too? Can I drink non-sugared tea in the morning?

LittlePandaBear · 25/11/2013 20:28

I'm having my WC jab at 31+6 weeks - my midwife said anytime between 28 and 38 weeks is okay, but at my last appointment last week I was 27+6 so it was a day too early for her to give it to me! The only trouble is I have a works Christmas night out that night - so don't fancy a sore arm. I had to RSVP to the Xmas meal with what food I was having from the menu and there was even an option for drinks of Red, White, Beer or Soft drinks. I had to click soft drinks. It was horrible.

I've felt good this pregnancy but this week have started having more aches in my back and legs so am worried as to how bad it will get as the weeks go on. I can't remember it being particularly bad with DD but maybe I'm just forgetful!

Oh and I talk to my baby too, just not in public :) I just keep saying 'I hope you're alright in there!'. Not sure if it's one kick for yes and two for no or the other way round Grin

I'm booked in for my WC jab on Wednesday just before my 28wk midwife appointment, when I'll be 28+3. Midwife told me I have to have it this week when I saw her at 25wks.

I am also getting out of breath for no apparent reason - was running through some stuff with my replacement at work today, sat down at desk, and got really flustered and had to breathe deeply - poor thing was worried!

I am v excited about going to bed tonight... my V-shaped pillow has arrived so hopefully I will be more comfy. Oh the glamour of being a mummy to be! Not quite sure how me + bump + pillow + lump of DH will fit but I guess it'll be cosy (and oh so unromantic)

missk I hope that after the signing off last week you have enjoyed a relaxing weekend and a lovely day at home today to destress. Wish I was at home, although in reality I'd probably get bored. However, I am enjoying the fact I have only 6 Mondays left at work!

EeyoreIsh · 25/11/2013 21:10

I haven't booked my whopping cough jab, I'd been planning to leave it until I was 34 weeks but maybe I'll bring it forward now. I just don't know when I'll get time to get to gps for it, work is crazy busy.

Been out for dinner with my friend. She described me as skinny with a bump. I luffs her Grin there are some benefits to never ending morning sickness!

I booked my train tickets and hotel for my return trip to Brussels this week. I'm so not up for another trip away, I haven't recovered from last week's yet. But my boss did agree I could get a taxi everywhere. I'm at the wrong end of a really crazy two week period at work, which includes working the weekend. At the stage I don't want the overtime money, I want sleep!

CubanoHabana · 25/11/2013 21:36

Mw told me whooping cough had to be done 28 weeks, but I don't know if I get it with her or nurse?!

sunflowered · 25/11/2013 21:36

I've just been sent the leaflet about whooping cough from my gp - (published by the nhs!) says:
"the best time to get vaccinated... is from week 28 to 38 of your pregnancy - ideally between 28 and 32 weeks"

So surely they can't refuse after 32 weeks?! I'll hit 32 weeks while I'm away over christmas, and the chances of being able to fit into the right clinic (prob 30 minutes long in the middle of the day...) at a time when I can get out of work (in the nhs...) before xmas are quite slim. Oh well... The practice nurse works part time for the same org that I do so I know how to track her down!

misskatamari · 25/11/2013 21:42

God Eeyore I don't know how you bloody do it. You must be absolutely shattered. I hope the trip goes well and isn't too tiring.

I had wc jab at 28 weeks and midwife didn't give an option of later - kind of wish she had as it seems more effective a bit later. Ah well, it's done now.

Jazz - I do feel so much better now I'm not rushing about all day stressing. Spoke to a lady in my dept today and it sounds bloody awful in work at the moment. Everyone is so stressed out and apparently there are going to be redundancies (they're not supposed to know but apparently there was a big management meeting about it the other day). An email went out tonight saying there is a meeting tomorrow after school and union reps have been invited so who knows what's going on. Thank god I'm a core subject so we're needed (fingers crossed).

We're packed and ready for going to live in the premier inn tomorrow too Confused hopefully the work on the house won't take too long!

Gosh my bump seems to have grown overnight again. Does anyone else find theirs gets really tight and sore at the top? Oh my god my belly button is stretching too as if I touch it it feels like a gross guitar string Shock bleurgh!!!

gnittinggnome · 25/11/2013 21:44

Good luck with the work on the house missKat

EeyoreIsh · 25/11/2013 21:54

missk I have the offer of a sick note from my gp so I know I have a get out clause if things get too much. I'm also working from home so I'll get a lie in if my hips and ribs allow! and I now only have 19 days left Smile

I hope your stay in the premier inn is short and the house gets sorted ok.

champs I'm joining you in the "sorry for myself" club today. Whilst I have temporary spd relief, I have a throat infection and feel crap, but poor DS also has croup. So limited sleep is happening at night due to the coughing, barking and crying... poor kid has just got back on his feet from hand, foot and mouth Sad

missk hope all your repairs don't take that long, but enjoy the premier inn...

Shropshiremummy2B · 25/11/2013 22:39

notoneforselfies - you can have supper but nothing the next morning, not even a cup if tea (or in my case a venti skinny chai latte mmmmmmmm, thank crap I don't have diabetes because that would be a hard habit to kick).

EeyoreIsh · 25/11/2013 22:54

champs I had the anti d in my arm. It didn't hurt at all. The arm felt a little heavy afterwards, but that was all. I enjoyed the enforced lie down afterwards Grin

Thisisfreakingmeout · 25/11/2013 22:54

champs my anti D was in my upper arm, hurt about the same as a normal jab and lasted a tiny bit longer. But I found it wasn't sore to sleep on. Don't worry and good luck!

First of two long antenatal sessions. MW was excellent and it was really interesting. Looking forward to final session next week.

30 + 2

Thisisfreakingmeout · 25/11/2013 22:55

eeyore my MW giving the antiD was obviously pretty casual. I was packed off straight to the car!

EeyoreIsh · 25/11/2013 23:00

That's a bit mean! She was supposed to keep me lying down for 30 mins but she packed me off early to visit the MLU. I felt cheated of my lie down, I only had 10 mins. Apparently if you're going to react it'll happen straight away anyway.

Thisisfreakingmeout · 25/11/2013 23:26

Well I was fine so I won't moan! I got a letter saying
I need 1 at 28 and 1 at 34. Now I have a
letter saying just one between 28 & 32. What's the rule at your docs? I need to clarify but I just know no one will have a clue!

Littleen · 25/11/2013 23:28

Hope everyones vaccinations goes well! I didn't feel anything after the initial jab when having my flu one - not been offered to have the other one so don't think it's necessary here.

I have a slight major issue; I have gone "off" all the names on my shortlist, and now I don't like any names at all :( What to dooo!
