littlebairn I know what you mean about the princess thing. I hate pink!

LittleBairn · 24/10/2013 21:18

xavielli awe your poor DS hope his elbow isn't too sore. I've heard of that happening a few times on buggy boards due to kids loosing their footing but not letting go.

moomin I'm the same in regards to baby clothes I hate the whole pink/blue thing I've got a whole closet full of lovely bright baby clothes.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 24/10/2013 21:48

hezbean yes we will find out. I like to be prepared.
I dont have particularly girly girls thankfully. Dd2's best friend is a boy so she's pretty rough and tumble type. She has all the dressing up stuff but always opts for supergirl costume.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 24/10/2013 21:50

You saying about a spurs kit, my 9 yr old dd1 does girls football at school. You never know what they'll be into!

Hezbean · 24/10/2013 21:59

That's great - it's nothing against girls playing football more that I don't want DH parading the baby round like a football mascot! :-)

moominleigh94 · 24/10/2013 22:15

I'd love a girl but I'm not fussed as long as he or she is healthy. Everyone I've spoken to reckons a girl though Grin

It's all decided by this point (13 weeks) isn't it?

I'm not too worried about the girly girl thing; my mom was a football referee for years, I played football as a little girl and still love the occasional kickabout and watching matches, and my younger sister has been playing since she was nine. She's 12 and plays in the league for the boys' team Grin she's academy standard, it's just a case of trying to find one she can travel to every week. She could easily go professional -and that isn't just biased big sister viewpoint :)

Hello Maybies!

Welcome Rushy & Kally nice to ‘meet’ you.

Rushy I’m another one who will definitely be finding out the sex. I think it’s really exciting knowing! With my DS we were calling him by name before he was born, went shopping mad and got loads of personalised things. Loved it! Plus I really want to tell the grandparents on Christmas Day.

Hazbean Part of me would like a girl this time as I have a boy and I've always thought one of each would be nice. Saying that I’m getting boy vibes….DP thinks it is too. I don’t know where that comes from, we just do. I think I might be more temped to have a third if it is a boy…....(that will probably end in a football team)! Hmm

Xavielli Hope your DS is ok.

Thistle I can’t believe you've got your 20 week scan date, very jealous. I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and no 12 week scan date yet? Thank God my fertility clinic are just handing scans out whenever I want. Got another tomorrow, hoping for some lovely clear pictures.

Can’t remember who said that they were having consultant led care, but I am too and I have no idea why. I've no medical problems, no weight problem and my first pregnancy was all normal. DS was 42 weeks, could that be it? So much information was going in at the booking in appointment, I just didn't question it.

Anyway, Lime tomorrow! Scan in the morning and then I’m Facebooking it. I've got 36 friends and family members at the house for DS 3rd birthday party on Saturday and I’m crap at lying (plus I’m looking a bit too rounded now for eagle eyed Aunties), I’m coming out!

to everyone else x x

thistlelicker · 24/10/2013 22:41

I'm consultant led care for diabetes and bmi

Rushyswife · 24/10/2013 22:54

Hiyaoh looks like lots of us are finding out! It was nice having a suprise last time but I think knowing will help me bond with the baby more. I can't decide if I'd like a girl so I have one of each or another boy because DS is so amazing! Think I will be happy either way (thankfully!)

impatientlywaiting · 24/10/2013 23:54

Wow we must be so pregnant! There is a July bus already!

AliOh · 25/10/2013 01:00

We're hoping to ask the sonographer to write the gender in an envelope for us and then we'll open it at the end of march (DPs birthday). That's my compromise as I don't want to find out and DP does! I do kind of want to know (still a bit undecided) but feel like 20 weeks is too early, how long we will able to go without opening the envelope though I don't know! Grin

dobedobedo · 25/10/2013 05:19

Ali that's a lovely idea! I might get them to do the same for us so we can open it on Christmas day. Thanks for the inspiration! Smile

I honestly don't mind whether we have a boy or girl. One isn't better than the other to us. Ds is a joy, and not your typical football playing, car liking boy. He loves music, drama, "stylish clothes" the only thing he asked for last Christmas was a baby doll lol. I have an inkling it's a girl though, just from how sick I've been. If it is, I don't think we'll tell anyone. I can't bear the thought of mountains of baby pink crap all over the place! Blush

YikesHereWeGo · 25/10/2013 07:07

Hello everyone. Just popping on to say hi. I had my 12 week scan this week which was great and found out the gender too! A little boy! The quest to find a name begins - we'd only really thought about girls' names up to then! Confused Hope everyone is feeling well and the ms is dying down.

dobedobedo · 25/10/2013 07:29

Hi yikes great news on the scan! How did you find out the gender already?! Jealous Grin

AliOh · 25/10/2013 07:59

Wow yikes congrats and you've found out the gender already! We've only decided on boys names so far.

Know what you mean dobe we are under strict instructions from MIL not to buy ANYTHING on pain of death!! So I'm tempted not to tell her the gender when we find out - she's very 'blingy' (if that's a word?!) and I'd rather have neutral stuff for the baby. If all goes well I'll be 33 weeks before we find out the gender, hopefully we will have everything by then anyway :)

Think I'm day four with no sickness!! Getting mild headaches every now and then, nothing major though :)

11+4

hamncheese · 25/10/2013 08:04

Um moomin are you actually me? I am obsessed with dinosaurs. DS had so many dino clothes I was going to post a pic but I realised I don't have any online... But here he is in his cutesy whale jumper which will be rocked by a little girl if I do have one for sure! LITTLE BABY CUTESNESS TO GET YOU ALL AWWW

I would love a girl, as I have a boy already. Obviously the just a healthy one thing def applies but I won't lie, I would be a little disappointed if I didn't have a girl as I won't be having anymore after this one. However, brothers would be very nice. We find out on 18th dec hopefully... An early Christmas present!

Is anyone planning on finding out the sex but not telling anyone? We are... Just my mum because she's a nosy one.

I'm 13 weeks today so I have a peach now right? Bring on the second trimester!!!

thistlelicker · 25/10/2013 08:05

Wow! They told U the sex? Didn't think they could yet, !!!

hamncheese · 25/10/2013 08:06

Oh yea ali I've been having headaches too. This happened last time if I remember correctly, the ms faded only to be replaced by horrible skin and headaches... I'm wondering if this is the result of increasing progesterone...

dobedobedo · 25/10/2013 08:16

Hamncheese we might not tell anyone the sex, purely to avoid a load of pink stuff! Whether we can keep our gobs shut for that long is another thing!

hamncheese · 25/10/2013 08:34

Oh god yes dobe if its a girl I'm putting out a pink embargo. Buy it and it goes back to the shop. I was with mil and SIL the other day saying how if we had a girl it would be in DS clothes mostly which I am happy with. And mil said "ohhh I loooove pink" and SIL chimed in "ooh yes, CANDY PINK"

moominleigh94 · 25/10/2013 08:36

My GP surgery offers routine appointments a week in advance, or emergency appointments on the day. I'm just trying to figure out if I've done the right thing or wasted their time in asking for an emergency one, because I feel bad already :(

When I was at the hospital a couple of weeks ago, they said there was a bit of infection in my wee and gave me antibiotics for three days. I took them, symptoms didn't clear up much but I wrote it off. Past few days I've been struggling with wee; as soon as I realise I need the toilet it starts hurting, the pain started where I assume my bladder is, but I'm also getting twinges in my back near my waist. Also I'm struggling to start weeing (sorry for TMI). I had a kidney infection a couple of years ago that left me in hospital for a couple of days and the symptoms are fairly similar, so I'm worried especially with the added factor of pregnancy this time.

I'm also feeling sick despite morning sickness having gone, generally ill and run down, and I've got a slight fever. It got a lot worse overnight, the pain woke me up. Am I wrong to have called for an urgent appointment?

Squiffie · 25/10/2013 08:41

I want a 'surprise' this time as already have one of each but dh wants to find out. With our first we found out but pretended not to know and didn't tell a soul! With our second we knew but only told family.

I don't mind whether we get a boy or a girl but I know dh would love another boy; he says he only wants one little princess! She really is a princess as well!

Squiffie · 25/10/2013 08:45

No, you've done the right thing! You can't leave an infection a week! X x

Hezbean · 25/10/2013 08:59

Definitely the right thing moomin! You don't want it to get worse.
Hope you feel better x

Yikes - how can they tell the sex already? That's amazing.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 25/10/2013 09:09

Don't ever question yourself about booking a doctors appointment moomin. You have to look after yourself and unborn baby.

Am I the only one on here refusing to have the flu jab?
