February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

Elijah/eli is a gorgeous name. Theodore is one of our preferred choices. My preferred name for a boy is Alexander, but DH not so keen.

I think I'll copy the key pages of my notes then, and keep them with me. There's so much blumpf in there in really not keen to add the whole pack to my bag!

winterflowers · 05/11/2013 16:26

What would you say are the key pages of our notes? Scan results and contacts? Mine are a whole a4 book, no way I would lug that round.

Also, I'm moving at xmas do I keep my notes to give my new hospital do u think, what did those of u who moved during pregnancy do?

Littleen · 05/11/2013 17:51

winterflowers I think you should keep your papers and bring to the new hospital :) I'm only copying up the basic information, but not sure how your notes look so can't really say!

laura0007 · 05/11/2013 18:12

Ha I was waiting for Shrops to appear when Percy was mentioned! It's funny before we started this thread I'd never have even looked twice at the name Percy but it's grown on me! Maybe I should plan Leo's little brother....just have to find myself a nice decent man this time!!

camwombat · 05/11/2013 18:24

Winter, if you are changing health authority they will want to take your notes from you (at least they did in Cambridge). If they do make sure you get them to copy everything and that you have all your blood test results. If you are moving locally they won't, we moved when I was 32 wks last time and I didnt change doctors/midwife until after the birth so as not to mess anything up.

When we moved up here (North Tyneside) they gave me a whole new notes book, and then repeated all the blood tests as not all that info gets transferred. So now I have two sets of notes, handily they new lot are in a sort of ringbinder so I can pop the old ones in.

They also keep them after the birth so make sure you have precopied them if you want them for future reference. They hospital gives you a basic discharge sheet with lots of stats on it.

misskatamari · 05/11/2013 18:54

Ugh I must have psychically known you were all talking about vitamins this morning as I decided to actually take a pregnacare. Then I puked up my breakfast in the kitchen sink (not empty bleurgh!). I will deffo go back to attempting (and forgetting) to take them in the evenings instead I think!

Loving all the names Grin Elijah is lovely! I definitely find boys names easier tho as I like quite a few. We're still totally stuck on a middle name for Artemis - the only middle name I want is Agnes as it was my grandmas name but don't know how well they go (plus DH hates it).

I think I might be starting to give off those cat attracting Preggo pheromones. The one that doesn't like me keeps staring at me and just came to sit on my knee. It's kind of creepy to just see her watching me all the time! Is it too early to go to bed yet? Smile

sunflowered · 05/11/2013 18:57

I was speaking to a lady at my lazy daisy class yesterday who was 40+5ish and looking really fed up and tired. Just saw on facebook that only 12 hours later she'd had her baby girl Smile I know it's going to happen to most 40+ weekers fairly soon, but still find it amazing that in such a short space of time you can go from a bump to a brand new human being just like that. Going to make some dinner now and enjoy a rare moment of warm fuzzy happy feelings before grumpy preg mood reappears.

misskatamari · 05/11/2013 19:31

Quick question on diet - are you ladies all being super healthy etc? I always thought I would be when pregnant as I need to make sure the baby gets loads if good nutrients but so far I've actually been pretty crap. Generally my meals are okay but I'm eating so much junk along with it (more than normal) and worry that I should probably make a big effort to stop and get some more healthy stuff in my diet.

I've just eaten about a million biscuits and feel a bit sick hence me bringing this up!

marzipanned · 05/11/2013 19:38

misskat NO! Before I got pregnant I had an extremely healthy diet - nothing processed, no junk, 7-8 portions of fruit and veg a day, little red meat. Now I eat takeaway, stuff packets of ham into my mouth, buy chocolate bars when I'm picking up petrol (I know this is quite normal behaviour, but it wasn't for me!) I'm trying not to worry about it because I figure if I'm craving all this stuff then maybe there's something in it my body needs, but my decline in dietary health is also a big reason I haven't ditched the multivits.

misskatamari · 05/11/2013 19:45

Phew good to know marzi! Now despite being so full I feel a bit sick I want to shove a packet of ham in my mouth! Grin

It's crazy isn't it - I used to eat way better than I do now. I even eat sweets now as I just crave them and in the past I always avoided them as the devils food. Just hope I go back to normal once the baby is here. And that my arse hasn't grown to the size of a house!

laura0007 · 05/11/2013 19:50

I'm the same marzi! I literally cram crap into my mouth like I haven't eaten for a year when I've just had my tea! Fruit doesn't hit the spot, I need processed crap!!

Littleen · 05/11/2013 19:52

misskat I was like that, thought that when I got pregnant I would certainly have the motivation to eat healthier! My diet wasn't too bad before, but now it's just gone to rock bottom! Currently the only things I can face eating is chocolate, or bread with chocolate spread or ham/cheese. I keep up with vitamins seeing as my diet is so poor now, but my baby will be born a sugar addict ><
On the plus side, I've only gained 3 pounds. On the minus, those pounds have all been in the last 2 weeks! meh!

gnittinggnome · 05/11/2013 20:20

misskat my diet wasn't spectacular before I got pregnant, although there was a regular chinese takeaway and probably too much booze, but now all I have to hear is someone mention a food and I'm after it. I've also started buying biscuits, which I never did before because I know I'd sit and eat a packet. Plus being at home all day, so total access to the fridge and the kettle... I've gained 6kgs, which is in line with what I've been told is healthy, given my starting weight, and most of it's belly, but that's entirely due to genetics. Glucose tolerance test tomorrow will tell me if I've gone and given myself diabetes with those shortbread biscuits, so fingers crossed! Otoh, finding out which green vegetables I will actually voluntarily eat has been good - brocolli out, stir-fried kale in. And lots of asparagus.

Julietee · 05/11/2013 20:53

Ha, sorry for bringing up Percy. It was my great-grandpa's name, which is why it seems old fashioned to me :)

My diet was super healthy before pg! I had completely changed it in the run up to my wedding in April and was doing very low carb with lots of veg. Was just starting to add in more carbs when I found out.
Now... um... I've dived into carb mountain. With a sugar spoon. It's not good.

CalloohCallay · 05/11/2013 20:58

Finally checking in on this thread.

misskat I took pregnacare in my last pregnancy but was always sick within an hour afterwards. Have been taking Centrum pregnancy bits this time with no problems so far.

Had another scan last week as we're getting them monthly. All looking good and they've booked my induction date for 30th Jan at 38wks - feels good to have a date to focus on.

EeyoreIsh · 05/11/2013 21:29

I used to have a really healthy diet too. Lots of fruit and veg, no crisps etc. But recently (post-sickness) I try hard to eat well but I've had more cake and crisps. And I really want to eat sausage rolls, pork pies etc!

I've stayed on the vitamins because I have a restricted diet because of allergies, and it gives me one less thing to worry about.

After my long day, I came home to a DH who had cooked me, just me two chocolate orange cakes! What a star Grin

marzipanned · 05/11/2013 22:03

I suspect most pregnant women eat crap, I'm just grateful at this point I can eat again!

Have got another problem tonight: HORRIFIC smelling pee. Really strong and unpleasant. Any thoughts on what it could be? UTI? No other symptoms at all.

gnittinggnome · 05/11/2013 22:27

marzipanned yikes, unless you've been mainlining asparagus or some other substance I'd get it checked out. I've definitely been a little more pungent than usual, but nothing unusual or nasty - it is a symptom of UTIs, so definitely get it looked at. Is it darker than usual, and have you drunk as much as usual? It could well be nothing, but I know I'd want to speak to someone.

winterflowers · 05/11/2013 22:33

Marzi my pee smells weird when I have coffee. Yhink asparagus does yhe same... maybe something u ate?

So glad you all don't have super healthy diets also! My cake consumption rate has definitely multiplied

Thanks for the advice on th notes, will have a mammoth photocopying session before leaving work...

sunflowered · 05/11/2013 22:57

I have a healthy(ish) diet of sorts - cutting out alcohol, a wide range of cheeses and most of my caffeine intake sort of makes it better than pre-preg. But that's working on the assumption that if I eat loads of veg for dinner I'm somehow cancelling out the cake and crisps I need to get through the work day... So it could be a lot better. Fruit's a distant memory though - can only eat it washed down with gaviscon at the moment.

Dh was tapping my bump earlier and made the baby wriggle Smile

jazzcat28 · 06/11/2013 07:54

Ugh. Had the worst sleep ever. 3hrs then 4hrs tossing and turning then 3hrs. Good job I'm working from home today. Need to cram in some serious napping this afternoon.

Got 25 wk midwife appt today - another mini milestone Smile

Re pee - mine is also a bit pungent, will ask midwife today if all ok.

Lots of sympathy here, its so draining. I managed one whole hour of sleep last night. I've sort of given up with sleep tbh. It's easier not to worry and do something else instead.
My diet has changed from a balanced micro nutrient focused, low carb deal to one consisting mostly of toast and cake. Grin I've recently rediscovered the ultimate flapjack recipe from a MN'er and I'm trying not to eat them all.
I've posted my bump on FB. I haven't done it for a while because the comments about my size from work collegaues have made me self conscious but I'm just going with it now. I want to enjoy the last 3 months of my last pregnancy.
Pelvic floor everyone!

Unplastered · 06/11/2013 09:46

Ooh the ultimate flapjack recipe? Do share!

Currently sat in the hospital waiting room, in the middle of my Gestational Diabetes test. Though none of the midwives can work out why I'm here; apparantly they test if you have a diabetic first degree relative (my grandparents don't count), if you have a high BMI (I don't) or if you are over a certain age (I'm not). But they had already taken the first blood sample and given me the disgusting drink by the time they figured that out, so I'm here for the next two hours, yay :-/.

26+1 today. I'm preferring to count it in working days remaining now - 25 days left!
