Flyer747 · 13/10/2013 17:37

Tucking I was just thinking about you and wondering if you were swil...clearly not. Hmm
ThanksThanks For you.

Readyasilleverbe · 13/10/2013 17:52

Wow! Babytastic! Weldone and congratulations to all new arrivals. Good luck livened and anyone else swil. Good to hear that gas and air is so good!!
Monitoring went better today so no further action as yet but banned from mlu. Silly but I'm a lot more upset about this than is rational as I am fully aware outcome is most important and a natural and positive birth should be achievable on the delivery ward. Need to get over myself.
Flyer I too want baby out now! Even though its another 10 days til due date. Stress and endless bh and twinges starting to take their toll!

Readyasilleverbe · 13/10/2013 17:55

Ps having a tonic water with ice and a slice and imagining the gin part. It is slightly satisfying!!

Slippysnow · 13/10/2013 18:07

Congratulations to the new mummy's and baby bundles. :) so happy for you all. Especially as you did not need a helicopter although that would have been a brilliant story to tell her!

I was wondering how are the new families finding baby/dog relationships. I know we discussed it at points during pregnancy :)

Flyer747 · 13/10/2013 18:09

Ready, put a sneaky dash of gin in there, no one will know Smile

tuckingfits · 13/10/2013 18:12

That sounded really really stroppy... It was stroppy, but it wasn't meant to sound rude to new mummies Blush. I am honestly delighted for you all & the babies being posted on fb are totally gorgeous. I just really want mine now.

I can't do anything but sit about waiting, the PGP is totally crippling. I struggle to get DS ready for bed,I can't do the laundry,I do hoover a room every couple of days but shouldn't & always regret it. I get stuck on the floor when I change DS's nappy,I can't get comfy in bed,on settee,on gym ball, standing. Constant heartburn, chronic can't-be-arsed-itis,lack of interest in food. Just fed UP!

Sorry for the whine. I know there are others further on than me who deserve to meet their babies sooner,I'm feeling very sorry for myself after 11 days of contractions on & off, lots of plug lost, last night's vom fest.

But I know the end is in sight,I'm just utterly irrational :)

roxvox · 13/10/2013 18:28

bowlfull thanks for the advice. I have tried swaddling, but Ailla likes to have her hands near her face, so screams and wriggles until she gets them free. The midwife suggested rolling up a towel and wrapping it tightly around her lower body, but this only satisfies for an hour and only then when she is milk drunk sleeping.

Sanjifair · 13/10/2013 18:48

Congratulations Mnippy and Iheart!
I'm in the fed up club too. Just so tired, like being back in the first trimester again. Midwife on Tuesday so will see what she says about a sweep. Last time they couldn't even do a sweep at that stage as so unfavourable. If it's the same this time I will be resigning myself to induction again...

BowlFullofJelly · 13/10/2013 19:06

I figured you probably would have already tried it roxvox. Am a bit hesitant to mention this, as don't want to suggest anything is 'wrong' - some babies just take longer to settle, but your situation sounds similar to what i had with DS, and it turned out he had silent reflux. He would just suckle for hours, and hated being put down, as reflux is like constant acid indigestion, and so laying on back makes it worse, and suckling is very conforting. It may be worth asking about if things don't improve in the coming weeks. I found GPs very patronising to me as a first time mum - 'babies do cry you know' kind of attitude, but i got a HV on my side and baby gaviscon really helped. Sending love anyway - i know how bloody exhausting it is Thanks

Livened · 13/10/2013 19:17

I'm 5cm so if I keep progressing they will keep me in. Pains are bad so will go but hopefully post again later xxx

Soupqueen · 13/10/2013 19:39

Apologies for not catching up, bad signal means I'm not refreshing page. Don't know if this will post.

Still IP. The pessary did nothing (other than make me extremely tender and sore in the fanjo area) so first lot of gel has been inserted. Definitely feels a little different but not getting hopes up.

FeministInTraining · 13/10/2013 20:02

Good luck livened and soup and anyone else SWIL, congratulations mnippy and iheart Flowers

As moany as I am ATM, I'm still v much enjoying seeing everyone's new babies on FB. making me broody, I want newborn snuggles!!

So I think I lost my plug this afternoon- maybe pleading with the baby works a bit?! It looked like phlegm (sorry tmi) but there was no blood. Dr Google says it could be anything from hours to weeks before labour starts... Helpful Hmm

Went for a 20min walk with DP, lower back was hurting like mad and I needed to run to the loo to clear out as soon as we got back. (Tmi part 2 Blush)

Need to get back bouncing on the ball, still living in hope that I will be one of the 5% that delivers on EDD. I really don't want DP to go to work tomorrow, please baby come!!

Ooh and I'm not a big fan of champagne but we have got a bottle from some occasion over a year ago that will be opened when we arrive home with baby Smile

I'm looking forward to stocking up on Rekorderlig fruit cider, I haven't had a bottle to myself since January...

Hope MoN and baby Eliana are well.

Smitten1981 · 13/10/2013 20:06

Feminist, I've been having the phlegm thing for about a week, I wondered if it was the plug but there's never been any blood and nothing has kicked off so far. It's pretty rank though.

Flyer747 · 13/10/2013 20:17

I'm chuffed for you both..

I just wish my plug would come out too, nothing happening. It's so frustrating, I'd swap sleepless nights, dirty nappies, bf for how shit I feel, constant fuckin reflux and heartburn and the inability to move and a baby that squirms so hard it makes me wince. Hmm Sorry for the me me moaning post. Fed up

Natalieand · 13/10/2013 20:27

Sorry to hear the pessary didn't kick things off for u soup hope the gel has more if an effect xxx

Good luck livened

Best of luck to anyone else SWIL

SC @ 39+6.... Induction tommorow morning providing they aren't too busy! Xxx

FeministInTraining · 13/10/2013 20:27

Flowers for Flyer I've got to that point now. I did chuckle at 'I'm chuffed for you both' though- I'm sure it wasn't meant to be funny but it put a smile on my face Grin

I've drank 8 pints of milk in 4 days, I take a glass to bed and drink it every time I get up for a wee. May not be the best idea in terms of reducing toilet trips, but I've been sooooo thirsty recently and can't drink juice before laying down unless I want my mouth to taste of vom. And milk tastes nicer than water...

Smitten that's not really what I wanted to hear, but glad I'm not alone! I called DP to the bathroom to look, I was that excited Blush

FeministInTraining · 13/10/2013 20:28

Good luck Nat keep us updated- still waiting for a LIT status!

Smitten1981 · 13/10/2013 20:31

Sorry Feminist! I got my hopes up too, but alas nothing doing a week later.

Flyer, I'm the same as you. I have had a foot sticking in my side all day. It's so sore. He just keeps squirming about and there's no more room in there.

claphammama · 13/10/2013 20:38

how exciting feminist! (I didn't have any blood with my plug last time either). fx you have your due date baby tomorrow :-)

soup and livened hope you progress OK and everything goes well for you.

crunchie I already responded on FB but congrats again! enjoy your little girl

Thanks for flyer and tucking. Can't be long for you now... flyer I had heartburn all afternoon too... not fun

ready you can have a positive and natural birth on the labour ward too. Don't worry. I had to be induced last time, on a drip, and was very upset about it but ended up having a positive and as natural as possible experience. It can be done!

quiet weekend and evening here... every night I go to bed wondering if something is going to happen and every toilet trip is checking for plug... borderline obsessive now...

claphammama · 13/10/2013 20:39

and good luck for tomorrow nat! did you have a lovely day with your little girl today?

roxvox · 13/10/2013 20:43

That's interesting to hear bowlfull, something to look into if this goes on much longer. We have tried leaving her to cry, but she was getting really worked up and I almost wondered if maybe the back to back labour had hurt her back in some way, but then I tried lying her on her side in there (as an experiment) and she kicked up just as much stink about that! I am continuing to try putting her down on her back every day, and I am hoping that one day she will just accept it. I have read that, at this age, she won't associate her crying with getting picked up, so she won't form bad habits etc. Anyway, I am waffling, I will take a look at silent reflux, thanks bowlfull.

Sorry to those of you at the end of your tether either SC or SFW.

Natalieand · 13/10/2013 20:44

We didn't really do anything exciting clapham but actually I preferred that as we got to enjoy each other's company chilling out rather rushing around to places and her tantruming cos she doesn't wanna come or isn't getting her own way.

Eeek hope it is your plug fem

Have we had a baby on due date naturally yet?

claphammama · 13/10/2013 20:45

PS. orange I'm selfishly happy you are still with me at the back of the bus Grin

and pink I had to laugh at your post and your DP... my DP hasn't read ANYTHING pregnancy or baby related either (reason for several tearful evenings and arguments here). He is not an architect but a technology geek so his idea of preparing for the baby is figuring out which other lights in the house he can put on remote controls and which video monitors we should buy... someone help us!!

Readyasilleverbe · 13/10/2013 20:51

Feminist I'm so thirsty at the moment I obsess about fluids and get slightly anxious if I don't have water all the time. I reckon I'm drinking about 5-6l daily and drink a huge amount overnight. Did mention it to a few midwives, they weren't concerned.
Flyer get yourself some Zantac if you're not already on it. I have been on this and omeprazole since wk 18 as my stomach hates sharing space with a baby.
Thank you Clapham, I think you're right, it's all just been a bit of a crappy shock.
Good luck to all those potentially close to labour!x

dontworryjustpanic · 13/10/2013 20:58

roxvox have you tried elevating the head end of cot/Moses basket slightly - might help if it is reflux or wind. A book under 2 cot legs or folded towel under head end of basket. Midwife got me to try it with DS not sure it helped much for us but worth a try.
