Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Stom91 · 11/10/2013 18:09

Hmm I don't have that anterior thing but my baby's been lying diagonal for a few weeks now.. Her head is just under my right boob and her feet are near my bladder (saw on the scan I had the other day) I did kick a massive punch in the rib earlier that bloody hurt and she kicked my bladder this morning so she hasn't moved.... Maybe they're comfy? Doesn't really answer your question lol sorry

NomDeClavier · 11/10/2013 18:26

If they've got head down then it's totally normal for them by to move. Mine is a right wriggle bum but I think she's trying to get herself head down (and failing for some reason).

Alyssa1978 · 11/10/2013 18:44

ring I don't like pethidine (dia morphine is my drug of choice lol) and water does not relax me at all so I think I'd better stick to my hospital birth lol Grin

mrs that sounded like a nightmare you poor thing.

pink mines been head down for ages but he does move his body from side to side, his spine is in my left side now instead if my right.

Alyssa1978 · 11/10/2013 18:51

Wow feather I never realised back contractions never showed up on the monitor. Hopefully he's just gonna stay put this time until your cs date.

I phoned labour ward frouby they didn't seem overly concerned as there are no pattern to the cramps and they're not getting worse plus I'm starting to loose my mucas plug and dp said I had cramps last time when that started happening, it wasn't that long ago you'd think I'd remember lol.

With ds1 and 2 I started to loose my plug 2/3 weeks before I went into labour.

whisper I lol at your dream, its funny when it feels so real when you first wake up, our poor dp's lol

Sorry if I've missed anyone.

ringaringarosy · 11/10/2013 19:15

they might bring dia morphine,i have no idea about pain relief actually i thought pethadine and dia morphine were the same thing!might be worth asking the midwife if your interested.

meandbumpy · 11/10/2013 19:27

Sorry to hear people have been having a bad time of things and hope you're all feeling a bit better now and keeping your spirits up. Feather really sorry for how you've been treated. I concur - fuck 'em!

Re position, baby has been in the same position most of the way through. Even when it had loads of room it would just lie on it's back in the same position. Couldn't have the anomaly checks done properly at my scans because my lazy baby refused to budge. Saw mw yesterday and she reckons it's gone head down now though.

Alyssa1978 · 11/10/2013 19:43

feather just read whats been happening at work and I agree.....fuck em!
What horrid people, I'd like to see how they would cope working those shifts pregnant and with spd, they sound like really bitchy people.
You get yourself signed off and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy Hun. Flowers

ring they told me that dia morphine is stronger than pethedine as you can have pethedine once every 4 hours but dia morphine is once every 6, I think it was.

mumoftwoboysS · 11/10/2013 19:55

alyssa you're starting to lose your mucus plug already? how many weeks are you?

I feel like its (the birth) all such a long way off. 30 weeks on Sunday and I know he/she won't be early- been on time both times so 10 long weeks to go!...

Alyssa1978 · 11/10/2013 20:34

I'm 33 weeks in Monday mum
tmi alert tons of thick clear mucas with white mixed in every time I go to the toilet, looks exactly like it did with both kids, but both times it was 2 to 3 weeks before I went into labour so I've got a feeling this one may be 37ish weeks or so like ds1 although I'd happily admit I'm wrong and go to 40 if he'd like to hang on Smile

kchapper5 · 11/10/2013 20:39

feather i have crazy pregnant rage please let me come destroy those cows lives :)
mrs that sounds horrendous glad you've got the giant buttons to look forward too :)
I have no idea what position the baby is i think its up the top due to the shortness of breath i occassionally get but i keep getting movements everywhere to be honest.
mum i think the birth seems ages away too, if bumps ontime ive still got 11 weeks to go

clare8allthepies · 11/10/2013 20:55

Hi, haven't updated for ages, though I have been following how everyones been getting along.

I'm so glad I'm finishing work next week, every day when I get in I have just felt like crying because I'm so tired. I also feel like I'm just horrid shouty mum all the time and this is just 'normal' pregnancy niggles, I can't imagine how those of you with SPD are managing.

DP has gone out tonight, I've had my pj's on since half 7 and will be in bed before too long!

PinkWitch803 · 11/10/2013 20:55

Thanks for your feedback on position. Ever since my bleed the other week, I have become super paranoid something is going wrong!

One a nice note, my DP took me and my step son out for dinner to celebrate me 'retiring' for the year. It was a simple Brewers Fayre, but itvwas nice and we didn't have to cook :)

We are back home now and I am using the excuse the boys are watching England play, while I have had a nice shower and am in bed with a hot water bottle and a glass of milk! I seriously live the high life.

I wish you all good and happy weekends.

Stom91 · 11/10/2013 21:19

That sounds lovely pink...

We couldn't be bothered to go shopping so dp got takeaway... Now both in bed with a candle while he watches footy....

This is my first baby and with due date only 10 weeks away I'm really starting to get scared now... I've been so relaxed about birth all the way through but after that awful appointment yesterday.. all day today I've been worrying myself silly about the giving birth bit... I'm so scared now... I know it's silly people give birth every day! .. I told dp I'm scared and all he said was 'nah its easy!'

Reassurance needed :/

PinkWitch803 · 11/10/2013 22:16

It is only natural to feel nervous, but it sounds like your midwife is really looking after you. Ignore the silly old man you had the misfortune of meeting.

If you have questions, write them down and take them with you when you see a decent consultant. And don't think any question is too stupid. If you don't ask, you won't know.

Maybe put a post on MN about hypermobility amd pregnancy and find out if anyone has any experience they can share. Or even look on netmums too.

Alyssa1978 · 11/10/2013 22:42

Everyone's labour is different stom and everyone deals with pain differently, all I can tell you is it is a pain you forget.
I went into labour thinking of the worst pain imaginable and anything less was a bonus.
Honestly would I be having number 3 if it was truly horrifying? You'll be fine honey and take each contraction one at a time and just remember......you get the most precious gift at the end of it and there is always some type of pain relief to take the edge off.

Men will never fully understand and my dp was the same until he watched me do it and then I got so many......I'm proud of you and that was amazing and you're amazing, it was wonderful seeing the love for me he showed after I gave him his children.

Aww I'm all emotional now, roll on 7 weeks Grin

froubylou · 11/10/2013 22:58

Evening all.

Glad you are ok 5ammy. Was worried bout whoever it was.

Alyessa at least you know now not to worry too much but if it gets worse make sure you get checked out.

I have eaten nothing but crap all day. Had bacon buttie for breakfast. Frankie and bennies calzone for a late lunch, then a zinger burger for supper on way home from pub watching bloody football. Followed by baileys cheesecake. Good job I am still taking vits to balance stuff out a bit lol.

Featherbag · 11/10/2013 23:29

Thanks all for the raging on my behalf, makes me feel stronger! DH and I have been out (child-free!) for a fabulous meal and cinema trip to celebrate my birthday, I even had a glass of wine! DS is staying with my parents overnight, so I'm determined to lie in tomorrow too, ready to face the bitches for the last time on Sunday.

Featherbag · 11/10/2013 23:30

Oh, baby REALLY enjoyed the film, he was kicking and wriggling more violently than he has in ages, at one point (thankfully a noisy part of the film) he managed to kick me so hard on the inside of my 'tickly spot' on the lower right of my abdomen I actually yelped and half leapt out of my seat!

abcdemma · 12/10/2013 00:13

As if people have been that nasty about you Feather. You're doing right by leaving now, doing what's right for you and baby. Feck 'em! Smile
Bamino has taken to using my hip bone as a target this last week or so. Would've thought it'd be beyond his reach but apparently it's a common thing. He's also taken to sticking his extremity (not sure if head, butt or limb) out the top right of my bump, so god knows how he's lying!
Been thinking a lot about the birth too, but got the active birth class next week to look forward to. It'll hopefully be really interesting and helpful, since I want to find out more about water and using breathing to get through contractions so I can save gas and air till later on.
2 weeks of work to go for me... bloody bring it on!!!

LadyMedea · 12/10/2013 00:56

For anyone wanting to get in some low cost birth prep I absolutely
love JuJu Sindin's book 'Birth Skills'. It has no agenda in terms of drugs/interventions etc and is pretty honest about the level of pain (I'm guessing, this is my first). It's all about practical coping skills using movement, sound, visualisation. Etc. I'm working through it with DH so he can be my coach. Really worth the investment as it has given me confidence.

mumoftwoboysS · 12/10/2013 08:05

alyssa wow, exciting to know your baby could be here in 2-3 weeks! Would be a bit premature but big enough to be treated as full term wouldn't he/she?

stom your apprehension is completely normal and I agree wit Alyssa- I'm on my 3rd too so it can't be that bad Grin I'm actually more anxious about the bf but that's just as I've struggled so much in the past.

I'd also really recommend natal hypnotherapy CDs- they just relax you and give you the confidence to believe in your body. The one thing I really think that helps is really trying not to panic or fight against it if it starts getting quite painful (during active labour) you see women on tv screaming and writing on the bed in panic- their panic is making all their muscles tighten up- including the ones down below so labour will be more painful and possibly longer- and I know its easy to say this, but if you try and go with the contractions (let them flow over you, using breathing) your body will naturally know what to do. (Sorry sounds a bit hippy-ish but I'm far from like that!) Obviously pain killers are extremely useful and if you're struggling to cope then use them (depending on what you've looked into and prefer) I used gas and air and concentrated on it for each contraction, it was something to focus on. Like alyssa says, you get a beautiful baby at the end of it and it's so worth it Smile and just when you think you can't do it (sometimes happens In transition just before pushing) you're over the worst and in my opinion, tho it can be hard work, the pushing isn't as painful- more hard work! Crowning stings but by that point baby is almost there-one or two pushes and hello baby! (Or if you're lucky in my 2nd birth pushing was literally a minute long- only 2 involuntary pushes, head them body- compared to 40 mins first time round)

Sorry if tmi, hopefully reassuring!

mumoftwoboysS · 12/10/2013 08:06

Head 'then' body I meant

ladysounds like a good book, going to have a look I Amazon...

mumoftwoboysS · 12/10/2013 08:06

Argh stupid phone!

mumoftwoboysS · 12/10/2013 08:07

That was 'writhing' on the bed not writing!!

Stom91 · 12/10/2013 09:26

Thanks all.) I've got a water birth/active birth class on Tuesday so hopefully that'll help.... I do want to try and breathe through them. I don't want to be crying and shouting 'I can't cope' etc

My dp won't read anything he started reading his pool then sstopped and says he knows what he's doing 'it's cool.. How hard can it be' does annoy me cos he get all agitated in hospitals as it is. Grr
