RockChick! You've ruined me! What about my reputation as a hard-faced twat? Thank you, thank you, lovely lady for cake and cuddles with your gorgeous son. What a sweetheart that boy is Smile Thank you for all your advice and reassurances and for having me today Thanks xx

I seriously doubt the sanity of folk who eat black pudding. Why not squeeze your tampons out and fry the clots?

Foxy, how about Phineas? It is a bible name and also the name of one of Julia Roberts' twins (also spelled Phinehas).

Welcome, Eln, you sound lovely Thanks Your husband's names for a boy are really awful. Soz.

FoxMulder · 26/09/2013 16:14

Pram No.

Prambo · 26/09/2013 16:15

Charming! You did ask for suggestions, you fucking ingrate!

super I love the name Arwen too, although we couldn't use it as I have a friend called Arwen (and I wouldn't want to name my baby after her!)...

definitely veto-ing denethor then - I remember which one he is now and he's a loser!!! ecthelion is vetoed as it is, quite frankly ridiculous!

my mum has suggested i book in for an early CS and name the baby whilst DH isn't there!

FoxMulder · 26/09/2013 16:16

Can't believe you getting squeamish about sausage rolls and black puddings, you great big pansy Pram. How do you feel about testicles?

Prambo · 26/09/2013 16:19

One of my cats is called Baby

Prambo · 26/09/2013 16:20

Testicles? To eat?

FoxMulder · 26/09/2013 16:21

Yes, to eat.

FoxMulder · 26/09/2013 16:30

Not as a baby name. I wouldn't recommend that.

BakingEating · 26/09/2013 16:41

If you like Arwen as a name, why not try 'Anwen' which is a welsh girls name? I think there are quite a few Welsh names ending in 'wen'.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 26/09/2013 16:53

We seem to find girls names much easier as we both like lots and there's plenty of overlap between what we both like whereas for boys we seem to not like as many and mostly like different names. I think the problem with boys names is that there are a small number of names that are very popular and then the rest are more unusual whereas the girls names are more evenly spread and I don't want a really common name but DH thinks the less common boys ones are too unusual. I like Arwen too but I think it would be a bit too "alternative" for DH. We know some people who called their little girl Beatrix which I thought was very clever as it's an uncommon name but one that everyone knows.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 26/09/2013 16:55

I also like Eowyn but wyn denotes a male name in Welsh.

rescoonetwothree · 26/09/2013 16:58

badly i knew a little girl called bronwen which is pretty!

Jolleigh · 26/09/2013 17:02

My stepdad keeps suggesting Athelstan for a boy. I practically pissed myself when I first heard it Grin

OH has so far suggested Bane, Gandalf, Sebastian (not comical but too long for me), and Alfonzo (albeit the Portuguese version but I hate it) Blush

BakingEating · 26/09/2013 17:04

Also, I just wanted to say that Saggy and Gawjus I'm thinking of you both (although I'm not on FB so gawj I hope you are ok).

BadlyWrittenPoem · 26/09/2013 17:11

Athelstan is an Anglo Saxon name - I think it's the name Alfred the Great gave to the Danish king he defeated.

commsgirl · 26/09/2013 17:17

DP's only serious suggestion has been Pete.

BakingEating · 26/09/2013 17:17

Kings of England are a good source of unusual names. 'Harthacnut' anyone? How about 'Aethelred' or 'Sweyn'?

No? [tumbleweed]

Anyway, I'm going for something extra-conventional just to annoy my mum. She thinks 'Tomas' is nicer than 'Thomas' Hmm

commsgirl · 26/09/2013 17:18

I mean serious as in he was serious!

rescoonetwothree · 26/09/2013 17:23

joll is it bad i like alfonzo haha, i love all those sort of names! don't worry dp has banned them!

rescoonetwothree · 26/09/2013 17:23

hahhahaha omg comms

Prambo · 26/09/2013 17:37

Screaming laughing at Pete Grin and horrified at the rest of the names on here Shock

Mind you..I'm having Queenie for a girl and Walter for a lad and anyone who doesn't like it can go and fuck themselves (and there are many, believe you me).

Jolleigh · 26/09/2013 17:47

BWP - my step dad does attempt to give me a history lesson every time he suggests a name Grin they're all pretty outlandish

Jolleigh · 26/09/2013 17:47

Someone must like it Grey Wink
