OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Cassiopeia01 · 27/09/2013 16:26

I have just spent the last 30 mins catching up and can not remember a feckin thing anyone said. My memory is shot to fuck at the moment. Sleep deprivation from going to the toilet 5 times a night is just ruining me.

Congrats to all those who have found out what they are having.

Re names. We have a boys name sorted but girls are a nightmare. My surname (courtesy of the husband) sounds a bit too like Fanny when said quickly (spending my life saying FannING not FannY) so thats put quite few names out. I quite liked Felicity, then shortened it to Flick. Then realised Flicky Fanny in the playground would cause the poor child to be tormented... Its a feckin nightmare. DH great grandad changed the surname from Fannon to Fanning. Why? Why? Did it not occur to him that future great-grand-daughters-in-law would one day have the piss ripped out of them by all work colleagues? Asswipe. Hmm I seem to be quite irrationally angry today...

Cassiopeia01 · 27/09/2013 16:28

Hmm. Obviously everybody knows they are having babies. I meant sex-wise. As in sex of babies. Not actual sex. I am going to shut up now...

commsgirl · 27/09/2013 16:28

Thanks for the needle reassurance ladies.

Jolls I did that the other morning getting ready for work. Awful feeling isn't it? I've now moved all the clothes that don't fit me into another room so that I can't see them and get depressed about it. Hope you're feeling better soon x

Pram exciting about your moving date!

Lyra house hunting is a nightmare. I hope you find something soon.

Sorry for people with headaches :(. I'm taking paracetamol to get me through work but trying to manage without the rest of the time.

We're going to Gaucho. Joll and Maybs this is entirely your fault!

FoxMulder · 27/09/2013 16:31

I'm loving the clothes thing, myself. I get to wear elasticated trousers! It's the best thing about being pregnant so far, they're bloody brilliant.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 27/09/2013 16:31

Pram if it's any encouragement, I slept 12-16 hours a day in my first pregnancy and I've never had any difficulty waking when the baby has needed me. (In fact when in the same room, I usually wake just before the baby so I presume there's some kind of mother's extra sensing or something when you;re sleeping close enough.)

BadlyWrittenPoem · 27/09/2013 16:32

I'm not havng sex - that's what got me into this condition in the first place.

commsgirl · 27/09/2013 16:35

BWP Grin

Jolleigh · 27/09/2013 16:36

Thanks guys - these hormones are a nightmare!

comms - did you read my trip adviser review? You might as well now you're going.

Just opened a letter that cheered me up. Downs risk has come back as 1/100000. So that's one less thing to worry about.

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 16:40

I'm going to Asda soon to see if they have any decent maternity wear for cheap. If not, big sizes of normal clothes are getting me through right now.

Thanks Comms. There's no desperate rush because I can stay in the house I'm in for however long it takes, but staying indefinitely means fighting XP through the courts when I should be concentrating on my new baby.

DP brought some nice fat steaks home last night so we shall be feasting tonight. My children won't eat it any way other than medium rare. I've trained them well. My mum would be horrified. She's a well-done-to-the-point-of-incineration kind of person, as are most people her age ime. Mmmm, dry, tough, flavourless meat. What's not to like?

commsgirl · 27/09/2013 16:48

Joll I can't find it!

JustCallMeBaldrick · 27/09/2013 16:53

Lyra the Asda near me have stopped doing maternity stuff in-store, only online. The assistant thought all stores were going that way, so it might be worth a phone call if you're making a special trip!

MummyPig24 · 27/09/2013 16:56

joll that's great news about the downs risk!

lyra I got jeans in mamas and papas yesterday for £10! I'm wearing my new maternity leggings today. All my new trousers are a bit big but my belly will grow into them.

grey our cat is always getting shut in the cupboard by the front door where we keep our shoes, he's so dopey. He's an absolute softie, a big fat hairball. He's all bright and perky now so I've cancelled the vets appointment and I will see how he is.

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 17:03

Really Baldrick? Damn. Mummy, I don't think we have a Mamas and Papas here.

Prambo · 27/09/2013 17:28

Oh, Cass, I'm laughing my head off at Flicky Fanny Grin I once seriously battered a girl called Felicity

I am feeling so, so happy today. And grateful. So massively grateful for the blessing that is this baby Smile

SoSurprised · 27/09/2013 18:04

Congratulations gawjus
These thread move so fast I have no idea what happening with everyone.

SoSurprised · 27/09/2013 18:05

Trying to catch up on previous 10 pages Shock

OwlinaTree · 27/09/2013 18:14

Connor is my preference. I definatly think they can 'look' like a name, we had 2 choices last time and picked the one that she 'looked' more like.

It's so exciting chatting about names!!

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 18:17

What's for dinner everyone? I'm making spaghetti carbonara, Jamie Oliver recipe, at boys' request. The steaks will have to wait for another time.

OwlinaTree · 27/09/2013 18:21

prambo I'm wondering why you have your hair done by a fucking hateful slag?!

We are off to a quiz tonight for Macmillan. Is it a special day for then today then?

OwlinaTree · 27/09/2013 18:29

Good news joll

None of my clothes fit. I feel massive, and this is only the start! 17 weeks on Sunday!!

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 27/09/2013 19:03

Hello ladies - what's the weekend plan??!!

We don't have any names yet - apart from currently calling the baby batman!! I think it was Mummy on here who said one of her children wanted to call the baby batman when she told them, I told dh who decided this was a good name for the baby now. And it's stuck!! Even I refer to it as batman!! Lol!!

I have a question for u - if you're really tired after work, should u rest? Or should u carry on as normal - like do the washing up, put some washing on and tidy up before sitting down??
Work on a Friday is exhausting and I've done a couple of things but I'm just sat down now, but feeling guilty that there's still some mess to be tidied up?

liberuna · 27/09/2013 19:25

raspberry I find I get bursts of energy. So I rest for a little when I get home (eat) and then do a little something. Otherwise i tend to not be as efficient get clumsy, can't remember what I was doing in the first place, end up doing job twice cause can't concentrate

Dinner is currently being delivered in the form of domino pizza. Waiting by door and may shag delivery person as my Nether regions have just about recovered from big mistake of waxing yesterday Confused

rescoonetwothree · 27/09/2013 19:41
