OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BadlyWrittenPoem · 27/09/2013 14:36

I don't know how you go about finding one - we bought one of those DIY kits for ours. I presume it's a fairly basic thing which the majority would be able to do unless you had particularly complex circumstances which most people don't so if nobody I knew had any recommendations, I would probably just look in the phone book and phone some up to find out.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 27/09/2013 14:40

Just got a phonecall from the Drs receptionist saying I'm immune to slapped cheek. However, as you have one type of antibodies if you are immune from a while ago and another type if you've had it recently and I've been given incorrect results of things in ther past I'm not counting my chickens yet and intend to go in and ask for a copy of the results next week when DH has a half day.

FoxMulder · 27/09/2013 14:43

Hey Badly I bet you know the answer to this. Can you take too much vitamin D? My supplements are 7.5, but I believe we are supposed to be taking 10? So do I take two or just the one?

MummyPig24 · 27/09/2013 15:07

grey the damn cats gone outside now! Can't believe the cheek of him!
My husband is also fairly short, about 5'9. I am 5'4 so it's fine but he also seems short compared to my family. My dad is the smallest at 5'11, the other men all over 6ft.

commsgirl · 27/09/2013 15:09

How did the flu jab go Grey/Fox? I've just booked mine for Tuesday.

FoxMulder · 27/09/2013 15:14

Yeah, fine comms. I'd forgotten all about it already. They explained why they give it to pregnant women (I can't remember already, but something about how you take shallower breaths because of your lungs being squeezed up in your chest) and that although they've not given it to pregnant women in the UK for too long, they have in America for ages and it's all fine. Then a quick jab and off I went on my merry way.

mummypig my DH is a shortarse too. About 5'9" (and I'm 5'11"). When I first met him I thought 'he's cute, but too short and too young. I hope we can be friends'. I know this because it says so in my diary Grin. All Cumbrian men are short though, he looks normal with his friends and I look like the freak.

rescoonetwothree · 27/09/2013 15:16

mummypig hahaha of course he has! i love them but they are such clever little bastards. mine likes the attic, if you close the hallway door and open the hatch he will somehow get in still and then you'll hear MEOWWWW MEOWWWW MEOWWWWW as if you're the one who decided to put him in there because he cant get down. he has been doing this for 17 years. i'm the same height as you so its not so bad!

comms it was fine, tiny tiny little needle!

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 15:17

I'm not sure whether to ask for the flu jab. It's not automatic here. I had flu last time I was pg with DS2 and it was a hideous experience. But the jab can have nasty side effects. My aunt, who's a nurse, had it last year and was off sick and in severe pain for three days after having the jab.

Foxy, did you look at the phone I linked yesterday?

Not having too much luck with the house-hunting. We've seen one which was big enough but quite shabby inside and with a weird layout (the one with two kitchens) and with horrible views over a car park full of overflowing recycling bins. The house I'm in now overlooks a green leafy park. The others have all been too small. Sigh. I'm not going to move if I don't find anything suitable. Fuck XP and his threats.

rescoonetwothree · 27/09/2013 15:18

fox i love thinking back to first impressions of people who your feelings have changed on and have actually stayed in your life for a very long time!

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 15:20

DP is 5ft 11 and reasonably well endowed, just the right size tbh. I haven't noticed that I have less room to accommodate him at all. Seems the same as ever. His preferred position is balls-deep doggy style. He refuses to do missionary in case his weight kills the baby Hmm

rescoonetwothree · 27/09/2013 15:21

lyra i thought that was quite unusual! touching wood, but I've been having it for years and never had any problems!

you will find the one! i stand by the idea that moving/house hunting is the most soul destroying task ever but you will find it! what do your dcs think about moving?

FoxMulder · 27/09/2013 15:22

I did thanks Lyra, sorry forgot to say. It does sound cheap. I just have so much to think about at the moment. Sorting antenatal stuff & doing the bathroom & other house renovations. And I'm so knackered of an evening that I can't think beyond what to watch on TV. Actually, I can't think much atall, that's why I'm on here all day Smile

Sorry the house hunting's not going so well. I guess it can take a while, these things.

Prambo · 27/09/2013 16:02

I hate balls-deep sex. It always feels like they've been watching too much porn and have summat to prove.

Moosey, I woke up ten minutes after my shift should have finished Blush

Lyra, can you explain again why your ex has 'won' and you have to move? I don't think I understood last time.

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 16:03

Fox, of course, other stuff take priority over phones, or so I've heard Wink

Grey, the DC are quite excited about the new house. It's easy for them because XP would be in our current house so they'd still be here when they're with him. They'd just get two bedrooms each in two houses. They also have their own shared bedroom at my mum's. Spoiled!

BadlyWrittenPoem · 27/09/2013 16:06

Not sure Fox. I did once read about some (very old) research which found problems in animals given large supplements of vitamin d but that's the only thing I've read specifically about vitamin d supplements. Is it a multivitamin or an individual vitamin d supplement? If it's a multivitamin I definitely wouldn't double up - if it's an individual one then I'm not sure. Personally, unless I felt I was at risk of vitamin d deficiency I don't think I would be concerned about that small a difference but if you are, maybe it'd be worth checking with your MW/GP? (Also, if it is a multivitamin, I just checked my pregnacare and it has 10.)

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 16:06

Pram, he wants the house (which he part owns) and will do anything he can to get it, however nasty. I can't be arsed to fight him. As long as I can find something equally nice and don't lose out financially, I don't mind moving. Fresh start and all that.

HotCrossPun · 27/09/2013 16:07

That is an impressive bit of napping Pram.

I have a stress headache. I know paracetamol is fine in pregnancy but every time I have one I feel guilty.

Who's next up for a scan? It's funny to think that we are all pregnant. Can you imagine what these threads are going to be like in Feb/March when we start going into Labour? I for one, am very excited Grin

BadlyWrittenPoem · 27/09/2013 16:10

Forgot to say that oily fish is the best dietary source of vitamin d as long as you're able to stomach it. I was quite diligent about it last pregnancy as I was housebound and had been housebound the previous pregnancy with only a short gap so felt I was more at risk of deficiency but realised the other day that I haven't been quite so diligent about this time so must make more of an effort.

Prambo · 27/09/2013 16:13

Lyra, I'm in agreement; give the shithead what he wants and don't look as though you give a scintilla of a crap.

Hottie, it's ludicrous how much I'm sleeping. I am worried I will never wake up for my baby when it needs me Hmm I'm taking paracetomol four times a day to appease constant headaches. They're not as brutal as Edamame's but I'm not coping very well. I'm super-excited, too, Hottie, about the final weeks. It'll be fucking chaos on here Grin

Prambo · 27/09/2013 16:14

*paracetamol

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2013 16:17

I have a headache but if I take paracetamol I get stomach cramps so I'd just be exchanging one pain for another. Sigh.

Prambo · 27/09/2013 16:19

Moving house 26th October!

Jolleigh · 27/09/2013 16:20

How pathetic am I? I'm sat bloody crying because none of my clothes fit. And I really need to snap out of it...I have to take the dog to the groomer in 10 minutes.

FoxMulder · 27/09/2013 16:24

Thanks Badly It's just a single vitamin D supplement, not a multi vit. I can't swallow pills and you can't get chewable pregnancy vits (the injustice!). I'm in an office all day, and it's starting to get dark by the time I get home now. I'll make more effort to eat oily fish now I'm not so sick anymore.

FoxMulder · 27/09/2013 16:26

Aww Jol don't cry. There there. There there.

None of my clothes fit either. Certainly not the trousers. And I don't have any dresses/skirts.
