Ok we don't. We're sick a lot, cry at adverts, moan about back/hip pain and if we got a quid for each new stretchmark generated we could all give up work and employ a nanny.

In fact if you know any teenagers feel free to show them our threads...we are the most effective contraceptive since sliced bread don't ask.

Ladies...as you were....

I haven't had any side effects from the flu jab, apart from a really sore arm. I remember someone saying don't get it on the side you sleep on, will remember that for the next one as I forgot this time!

Julietee · 05/10/2013 16:13

My bladder had a serious lapse on thursday - it got really sensitive and I found quite a lot of wet patches and felt like I needed a wee right after finishing one Confused (I don't believe in TMI, by the way :D )

I just feel like - incontinence? Already? Jeez! I feel like I'm carrying low, though, which might be contributing. Or is it too early to tell how we're carrying?
Currently wondering if I can be arsed to make olive bread.

Tea I managed to go 8 days with one hair wash last week!

misskatamari · 05/10/2013 17:47

Flu jab wise I had mine on Thurs. Noticed arm was a bit sensitive to sleep on and I don't feel great today but I think I'm just tired and still getting over my cold. Was talking to a lady today about whooping cough one tho and she said that one does make your arm really hurt after and she couldn't lift her arm properly for a few days - might be worth considering when deciding when to get it x

Aw went to mama and papas today and fell in love with the jamboree collection - they only had display, so thought I would look online and order it, to notice the prices! Omg! Seems like double the price of all the other ones! Gutted, as recently I have moved from the neutral ideas I had been having to bright colours and it's one of the first ones I have really liked...

misskatamari · 05/10/2013 22:30

Just had a look cubano - very cute. Oh my god Shock the prices tho! That's insane!!

misskatamari · 05/10/2013 22:31

Urgh I've just noticed too that my belly button is making its way slowly outwards! Belly buttons gross me out so much so it's very bleurgh now I've realised how much less innie it is getting Confused

Yes the belly buttons go back in thank goodness. Each of my previous pregnancies has given me an outy but it goes back. Sadly in my experience my stomach doesn't!

I'm up far too early for a Sunday morning because, despite being knackered, I can't sleep. Angry I can already feel that today is going to be hard. Went out for a meal with some of my friends last night but my DH and one friend's DH came along too and it really altered the group dynamic. We were home by 9.30 after dropping 2 of my friends home! What a crap night!!!

Poppy954 · 06/10/2013 07:36

Cubano I've looked, they are lovely. I like the jamboree moses basket but £105 plus £35 for a stand is twice the price you'd expect to pay as you say. Some of the reviews say it's not good quality for the price either - shame!

Not showing off but I've gone back to a perfectly flat stomach each time ( only saying this as a bit of reassurance / boost to anyone feeling like they'll never be the same again)

laura0007 · 06/10/2013 08:18

My belly button is on its way out too!
Poppy I'm praying I'm going to be like that! That was another reason for wanting the peach jogger, so I can get out running with the baby to loose any extra weight!

vix206 · 06/10/2013 08:30

My tummy button (totally popped out about a month ago!) went back in but looks a bit stretched and deeper than before. My tummy snapped straight back flat last time, really hoping it does the same again Grin

Poppy954 · 06/10/2013 08:39

Laura it will. Hopefully the jogger I tried was just a stiff one. I wouldn't say mine snapped straight back vix. Took a bit of work and time but worth it.

Has anyone looked at the NCT bed nest? They have one in John Lewis near me. I am not in love with the price but I found d out you can hire them and the reviews are great. Anyone seen/tried?

Oops

vix206 · 06/10/2013 08:51

Sorry I wasn't being smug about my tummy, it just did literally go straight back after about 4 weeks. I didn't do anything in terms of exercise but I was extremely poorly so maybe that contributed to it Smile

I did, however, eat lots of cake when DS was a baby and put on a bit more weight than I should have Shock

EeyoreIsh · 06/10/2013 08:52

I'm going to hire the nct bed rest. We have a family crib but I'd prefer the bed rest. Neither DH are comfortable with co sleeping, but we do want baby within each reach. So the bed nest seems perfect.

The bed nest rental still works out at £130 for six months, but it seems the perfect answer for us.

winterflowers · 06/10/2013 09:00

My belly button is on its way out toooo :(

Am definitely planning on renting the bed nest, and then having a moses basket for downstairs sleeping or if we stay away anywhere.

Somanychanges · 06/10/2013 09:33

I have a naughty little man in my tummy. He kept me up for ages last night kicking/punching my bladder. It was so uncomfortable. I tried to make him move but he wasn't having any if it, the little munchkin. I think he must have turned around so his feet were towards my bladder as up until now all those hard kicks have been up by my belly button.

My tummy went back really quick too with my other two. However, I was a skinny size 8 in those days and had a washboard stomach pre-pregnancy. This time I started off pregnancy as a size 14 after sitting down all day every day writing essays and dissertation in my final year and eating constantly to keep me energised. Blush so although I didn't have a fat stomach it wasn't as flat and toned as I would have liked it to be. Therefore, I can already guess that it is going to be a long slog to shift the weight this time.

Ruey have you been up to the delivery suite and maternity ward yet? I am hoping once seeing that I will feel more reassured. They said to book a tour at 30wks. For me I liked the fact that at Epsom the number of intervention/c-sections were much less than guildford. As I always have to be induced there is always that greater risk of ending up with a c-section which so far I have managed to avoid. I have an appointment with a different consultant this week so i am hoping this time I will feel more comfortable. Are you doing any antenatal classes?

pettyprudence · 06/10/2013 11:19

I have an innie belly button but it never popped last time.

we went to my dsis wedding on Friday and got back at 4pm yesterday. I had to sleep from 7:30pm to 9:30am today to recover Grin Shock . there was another feb preggo there who I didn't get a chance to talk to - was it any of you lot?? it would have been your dbros wedding Grin

Milkandtwo · 06/10/2013 13:15

Another one going to hire the bednest. Had a few friends use it and adore it. Apparently cheaper to buy sheets from John Lewis (or similar)

rueyrichardson · 06/10/2013 17:08

Yes, we're hiring a bed nest too, useful tip about getting the bedding from JL, thank you!

Somany, haven't ventured as far as the ward yet, will prob see you there! No ante natal classes booked, can't decide if we want to/have time to do them again this time.... I remember the basics and there's always mumsnet for the restGrin Although would be great to meet some mums in the area.

Bearfrills · 06/10/2013 17:55

I've missed so much on the thread! I'll read and catch up after my tea :)

I've booked myself onto every antenatal class running in work time that I can find. They're messing me about again, I've been given three days notice that my shifts are changing, except I have long-standing after work plans in the day in question and they now have me working late that day, and still no word on the three full days I was promised. Booking all the work time classes is my passive aggressive way of saying eff you (and less likely to get me sacked than actually saying eff you). I'll have to cancel some of them once I calm down :o

Is the name Tristan horrible? It's the only name DH and I can agree on, no joke - we went through an entire baby book seperately with a highlighter pen and out of 3000+ names it was the only one we both highlighted. We decided not to tell anyone as I couldn't be hassled with months of people telling me its rubbish, then today I accidentally let slip to my brother and he spent the afternoon slating it :( I think he realised he'd upset me because he did apologise but now I'm all doubting. This baby will have to remain nameless until he can choose his own name!
