Ok we don't. We're sick a lot, cry at adverts, moan about back/hip pain and if we got a quid for each new stretchmark generated we could all give up work and employ a nanny.

In fact if you know any teenagers feel free to show them our threads...we are the most effective contraceptive since sliced bread don't ask.

Ladies...as you were....

Glad to hear baby wriggling around thisis! I keep thinking I have felt some proper kicks but it may be a mix of wishful thinking and gas.

I have my scan a week today and CANNOT wait. Altho I can't believe what they did to you with the new machines that seems so unprofessional.

laura that's my worst nightmare but they do have a fighting chance after 24wks so let's hope they make it :)

Ladies, I was wondering if people are wearing nursing/maternity bras already, ie something with no wiring...?

Happy holidays jazz

laura0007 · 04/10/2013 14:00

Jazzcat I'm hoping to work until 39 weeks! Maybe that's just wishful thinking!!!

Julietee · 04/10/2013 14:08

Apparently it's more common for first babies to go overdue. But my mum was 37 with both of us, so I doubt I will!

I'm already in non-underwired bras. The ones from mothercare are rubbish, I went and got properly fitted in Fenwick's yesterday and it's so much better.

EeyoreIsh · 04/10/2013 14:38

I can't imagine giving birth in a fortnight, I'm so unprepared! It must be utterly terrifying to give birth so early. Having said that, I've been aware that I am getting closer to 24 weeks when the odds of survival are much higher.

I moved into underwired bras a few weeks back, because I've been getting rib pains. The mothercare ones are shit though, I'll be getting some proper ones tomorrow, especially since my boobs are growing now.

Shropshiremummy2B · 04/10/2013 15:11

OMFG! Just read it. Doesn't sound as bad as you think, and at just over 1lb not a struggle to deliver.

But I've just had the realisation that tomorrow I'm 23 weeks, if I went into labour tomorrow they would save its life, today they wouldn't Sad.

laura0007 · 04/10/2013 16:33

That's horrible to think that. They should try to save its life however many weeks it is. If it's a fighter it'll make it.

EeyoreIsh · 04/10/2013 16:34

Just read that thread, the mum is amazingly strong! I'd be properly freaking out.

vix206 · 04/10/2013 16:38

Whoa I'm 24+3 today. Can't imagine having this baby so early Confused

Anyway I went to 42+1 with DS which is why I'm on the February thread because I do expect to go overdue again!!

Shropshiremummy2B · 04/10/2013 16:51

vix206 if you give birth on your due date in January you do realise that we have permission to banish you from this group (even though you are the founding member)?!

vix206 · 04/10/2013 16:52

But I know you won't Grin I guarantee you someone else will beat me to it!

mrscookie78 · 04/10/2013 17:48

I couldn't see the thread re the lady having an early baby. in my last mn thread, we were all due nov and one lady had her baby in the August. must be so scary having your baby that early Sad

mrscookie78 · 04/10/2013 18:02

crikey I found the story, bless her and her little boy Smile

misskatamari · 04/10/2013 18:09

Gosh it must be so scary having a baby so early - I hope they're looking after him and he is okay.

Phew I am bloody knackered today! seemed to have much more energy a few weeks ago but seem to have Preggo tiredness again. I think my cough is finally shifting tho so fingers crossed I can get lots of sleep this weekend and get some "blooming" going on!

Horniness wise - I do find that I am more horny but by the time DH is home and available I'm usually too tired. It's his bday tomorrow tho so I guess I should probably make the effort lol!

Is anyone else finding that they are just moving so much bloody slower than usual? I'm starting to waddle a bit and just can't seem to get any speed going at the moment!

Just had fish and chips for tea so feeling guilty about lack of vitamins for baby - but not guilty enough I stop me eating the chocolate cheesecake gateau slice I also bought on the way home! Grin

Julietee · 04/10/2013 18:22

misskatamari oh god, I can feel the waddling coming on!

mrscookie78 · 04/10/2013 18:24

I'm shattered too, had a very lazy day today with my lo. I'm not waddling yet but im sure it will come soon Smile

Poppy954 · 04/10/2013 18:27

Caught up on everyone's news. Glad the January baby seems to be doing well. Hope we all keep going for a few more months.

Only (not very interesting ) news is that my linea negri seems to have appeared. I put it down to marking from tights the last few days but sure it's not the tights today! Oh and I'm feel

Poppy954 · 04/10/2013 18:29

.... Feeling the kicks through the (anterior ) placenta now which is good!

21 weeks today. Does anyone feel a bit 'got past 20 weeks, what now?'

laura0007 · 04/10/2013 18:29

Misskat I don't waddle to start the day but by the end of the day I feel very waddly! I am totally and utterly exhausted today. Working 6 days a week is killing me, only another 16.5 weeks until maternity leave. Yay Smile

Poppy954 · 04/10/2013 18:35

Laura. I want to work til 39 weeks but think I will stop at 38 for reasons connected to pay. I stopped at 34 weeks with ds1 because of the way holidays worked out and it was ridiculous. I was so bored and the las 6 weeks dragged. With ds2 I finished at about 36 weeks which was ok because I was off wit ds1 for 4 weeks in the school hols. I don't see any advantage in being off in January while they are at school. ( may feel differently when it comes to it!)

misskatamari · 04/10/2013 18:43

Lol poppy that reminds me - one of my year 11 boys was informing me today that if I developed a hairy belly and my hair grew back quickly when I shaved my legs it would mean I'm having a boy (haven't told them I know it's a girl get). I was like "errr right thanks..." This was after he spent half the lesson lifting his leg up and miming sand blasting his feet (with sound effects) as there was a support assistant in for a bit who has super crusty feet (for all to see in strappy sandals - so gross) lol. They do make me chuckle sometimes!

durk79 · 04/10/2013 18:48

found that story and the mum is so calm and chilled, I have to say its always been my biggest fear having a baby that early, mainly because I work in PICU/NICU so have first hand experience of the the most terrifying thing new parents could be going through, I am always amazed by the resilience and strength people have, quite frequently my worries in life are put into perspective.

on a good note, my hubby lost his wedding ring about a month ago at huge park, we were both obviously absolutely gutted not only because it was his wedding ring but we'd bought it in Vietnam at the end of a years travel around the world so it could never be replaced........someone rang from the park today, a little boy had found it in the car park and handed it Smile Smile Smile Smile what are the chances hey!! unfortunately he left no name for us to thank him.

Thingymajigs · 04/10/2013 18:57

I'm exhausted too. Pregnancy insomnia always hits me quite hard though so its not surprising. Two days of no sleep whatsoever followed by two days of glorious sleep (albiet very broken) is my usual pattern. SPD is also sneaking up on me slowly but I'm pretending its not there. This is my punishment for never experiencing morning sickness or heartburn in pregnancy, I'm sure of it. Despite the extensive moaning I'm enjoying my last pregnancy. I'll miss the kicks when its all over.
We are finally moving house this weekend! Feels like I've been waiting forever for a chance to escape this area and now we are moving to a quieter village where I can finally relax away from the abusive neighbour. Can't wait. Not gonna lie, I quite like being pregnant and therefore useless during a housemove. I've literally just been told to lie down and rest while DP and friends lug around furniture. Who else moved house recently?
Love the cute scan pics on FB. Who is up for a scan next?

misskatamari · 04/10/2013 19:44

Awww good luck with the move Thingy! I bet you're so excited!

Oh my god - I just sneezed and some wee came out!!! ShockConfusedShockConfused Noooooooo
