Ok we don't. We're sick a lot, cry at adverts, moan about back/hip pain and if we got a quid for each new stretchmark generated we could all give up work and employ a nanny.

In fact if you know any teenagers feel free to show them our threads...we are the most effective contraceptive since sliced bread don't ask.

Ladies...as you were....

Hope you're ok Thisisfreaking - I had a small bleed at 16 weeks and they said they were fairly certain it was old bloody. Seemed to also think it was linked to having sex a couple of days earlier!!! X

Milkandtwo · 03/10/2013 13:59

Oh no, wisdom tooth has crumbled and I have to drive 2 hoes each way to a dentist appt. tomorrow... Scared as receptionist said if have to have antibiotics before he could do anything? Hate the thought of taking antibiotics with a bairn on board...

Milkandtwo · 03/10/2013 14:00

Hahahaaaa 2 HOURS each way not 2 hoes. Ha!

laura0007 · 03/10/2013 14:06

Could have been an interesting journey milk!!

Hope you're ok thisisfreaking. I'm sure everything is fine SmileThanks

Poppy954 · 03/10/2013 14:56

Thisis, I had that at 14 wks put down to 'recent intercourse!' I've been fine since.

Shropshire. I don't feel a great deal even though it's weeks since the first movements and this is number 3. I feel it mainly in my waist and groin or deep down inside ( not against my abdominal wall). Try sitting with your knees up towards your chest for a while.

Congrats and good luck for scans.

Try to be nice to your husbands as you'll only be more tired and grumpy when you are sleep deprived and feeling unattractive! It's worth the effort now honestly!!

sunflowered · 03/10/2013 15:04

Hope everything is ok thisis

shropshire the most movement I've felt was in a loud and very cheesy nightclub. Going to the club was almost worth it for the reassurance when the bean started hammering on the walls to turn the noise down. I did feel a little guilty though so didn't stay too long! Felt it on both sides but nothing in the middle.

Have been trying to vent my rage at work this week instead of at home recently(!) I've been keeping dh awake with my sexy snoring but worked out that the prospect of a tiny new person to cuddle when he's sleepy in the mornings almost cancels out his grumpiness at lack of sleep. Will see how long that lasts when it's the tiny new person causing the lack of sleep and we're both moody in the mornings...

jazzcat28 · 03/10/2013 15:31

hurrah for the poo julitee!! Grin

Fingers crossed nothing to worry about thisis, have some Cake to take the edge off

Had another night of painful leg cramps again. Woke DH whimpering at one point.

milk - you ride them hoes if it makes you feel better ;-)

EeyoreIsh · 03/10/2013 17:41

julietee the joy of a poo after days without is great, isn't it! The things you only really enjoy in pregnancy!

thisisfreakingmeout sorry about your bleed. I was a total mess when I bled at 13 weeks, it's normal to be worried. I hope everything is ok.

shrops I'm one day behind you and have placenta at front too. I've only felt movements since my scan, and most of them could have been wind! The way I tell it's baby is because there seems to be more than flutter at a time. baby eeyore did do one set that were noticeable from outside but that was right at the top, so must have been above the placenta.

I've been such a grumpy mare at work today! losing it over the smallest thing. I didn't actually shout at anyone (I'm not that much of a bitch just yet!), but I sent several rather terse emails. And swore a few times at my laptop Blush.

HarlemWobble · 03/10/2013 18:33

Well what a shit day at work that was! First day back and post holiday blues have well and truly set in. Also found out that my boss and close colleague have both handed their notice in. Struggling to imagine what it will be like without them when I go back after mat leave.

I'm on my way to Westfield to cheer myself up with retail therapy. Plus I have my 20 week scam tomorrow morning to look forward to.

Thisisrreaking I'm sure the bleeding is nothing, but have a hug from me anyway x

misskatamari · 03/10/2013 20:24

Thisisfreaking - keeping my fingers crossed the bleed is old blood. I'm sure if the midwife was worried she would have asked you to come in. I know it must be hard not to worry though.

Shropshire - I'm the same with movements. Feel the odd weird thing that I know is the baby but it feels kinda like it's rolling about in there. Definitely happens more when I have my legs up - eg perching my feet on the coffee table.

Harlem I hope the retail therapy cheers you up. The work situation sounds very annoying!

Julietee congrats on your poo! Prune juice and bran are the way forward!

I had proper Preggo nark at a year 9 today who couldn't walk and pick up his book as he "felt ill". I practically threw the damn book at him after I shuffled my sore achey body over to him after having a bit of a shout. Oh dear, Preggo hormones. Awww I found a card in my pigeon hole today tho from another teacher who I barely know saying congratulations etc, it was so sweet I actually welled up a bit.

Bloody knackered now and think my bed is calling!

Somanychanges · 03/10/2013 20:50

thisis hope all is ok and there has been no more bleeding.

I am getting an early night again as it really worked wonders last night. I just hope tonight I will not be woken by my DD again as last night she wet the bed and having to remake a bed at 4am in the morning is the last thing I want to be doing. Gosh how will I ever get used to being up all night with a baby again? I am so used to a full nights sleep, so scared.

Night all

CubanoHabana · 03/10/2013 21:20

Well here is another with anterior placenta! Explains lack of movement as well...

vix206 · 03/10/2013 21:43

We'll let me tell you, strong sudden kicks to the bladder and cervix are not fun!!! Shock

LittlePandaBear · 03/10/2013 22:10

thisis- keep us updated, i'm sure all is well Flowers

Thank you everyone.

No more of the bad stuff to report and it's wiggling so I am feeling better and more hopeful that it was a blip.

Thanks again.

pettyprudence · 04/10/2013 00:00

Thisis glad to hear there has been no more bleeding!

Shrops I'm only 20w tomorrow but scan today confirmed a high but anterior placenta. baby bean was seriously wriggling - both the sonographer and consultant kept losing him/her! How the feck can they lose a baby? Can't move far! Anyway, I didn't feel a thing. Nada. Zilch. The only time I think I can feel anything is if I am crouching down and leaning forward (eg putting shoes on) and I think I get a protest punch.

As per fb baby was VERY unco-operative at the scan today and so was the new machinery (first day of use). Sonographer had to keep fetching help to work the machine/zoom, then baby was not complying so I got sent to drink cold water. Came back and then they thought they could detect a small hole in the membrane in the heart. Started talking about foetal cardiologists which freaked dh out. So I waited again and got switched to an old machine and no sign of hole. I am going back for another scan in 2 weeks but I am feeling pretty confident that there is nowt wrong. I felt I ought to agree to another scan as they had commented on how calm/not so excited me and dh were compared to first timers, but I am really not worried. I just don't get excited about the scan - I really can't make out the fingers and toes they are so nicely pointing out to me Blush

Anyway, mega post over Grin

Julietee · 04/10/2013 09:40

7th Oct scan girls - our wait is nearly over!
I'm very nervous. Compounded by the fact that my mum was going to drive me to the hospital but is now going on a cycling holiday, so now I have to worry about the dreadful parking there. I suspect I'll just try to get there very early. Stupid parking.

Some very strong kicks for me thismorning. And one last night while squished up uncomfortably on the tube that felt like I was being poked from the outside - I think it was a protest kick - s/he doesn't seem to like it when I have trousers bunched up near my pubic bone.

laura0007 · 04/10/2013 11:49

Wow! Just nosing through the other antenatal threads (when I should be working but have that Friday feeling) and someone has had their baby on the January thread! I think he was 24+2! How scary. That's two weeks away from me. Hope he's doing ok, I've gone all shaky now reading that!

SugarMiceInTheRain · 04/10/2013 11:53

20 weeks for me today! Got my NHS scan on Wednesday, can't wait!

Rather an embarrassing question, but does anyone else find themselves, erm... a lot more easily aroused during pregnancy? Despite feeling pretty crap and tired most of the time, I am also horny as hell most days and DH, in his usual way, is not up for it or too tired. Angry

thisis glad you've had no more bleeding. petty I'm amazed at your calmness. What a relief that the other scanning machine showed no hole though. I'd have been freaking out!

I'm a hormonal nightmare, impatient with kids etc Blush but am making a concerted effort to be more rational. Welled up at DS1's harvest assembly this morning. Was glad the lights were dimmed so I had time for my eyes to dry out before they turned them back up!

LittlePandaBear · 04/10/2013 12:38

Petty, what a scary scan, how can they just start using a machine they don't know how to use properly and scare people in the process!

Laura I can't believe someone has had their baby at 24 weeks, that's so so early. Hope he survives without any problems. I'm not brave enough to read the thread myself!

Went to a toddler group this morning and it was a mums due date last Friday, and she was dancing around anyway with her 2 yr old girl. And today she was there with her 2yr old, and a little baby boy! He'd arrived on Saturday. I couldn't believe she was up and about but she had her hubby there too. He was so squishy and tiny - named Ben. I doubt I'll be up and about that quick after mine but then I think I'll have a section.

I'm not that horny Sugar, but I think I have a bit of a low sex drive anyway - I was lucky to have made this baby! DH is worried about poking the baby anyway Blush

I better go, DD is shouting at me to come upstairs and see her baby dolls poo which is really big. Lovely.

21+1

Julietee · 04/10/2013 12:39

Laura bloody hell Confused
Definitely one of my fears right there.

jazzcat28 · 04/10/2013 12:51

Julietee my scan is on Thursday - cannot wait! Still hoping to remain team yellow.

Laura that is scary stuff. On one of my apps it actually says 'good infant survival rate' at 27 wks - that's not very far away at all! Here's me hoping to last until 36wks at work...

sugar oh yes. Very much so. Don't dtd often these days but when we do... wow.

Won't be checking in much next week as we're off on our 1st wedding anniversary trip to Rome! Will try to post a bump pic in front of a statue or interesting bit of wall or something on Wednesday though.

Happy weekend to one and all Smile
