Chicken my ds is 14 therefore ruled by his hormones and his stomach!!!

claphammama · 24/09/2013 23:19

crosspost - tucking sorry you've had such a rubbish time recently and please don't stop posting! We would miss you. We are all a bit over dramatic or opinionated on this thread from time to time and noone cares and noone judges! And thanks for the tips re: castor oil and raspberry leaf - good to have another perspective xx

And as far as contributions go - as you can see, flyer and I often contribute by lowering the tone!

monkeytree · 24/09/2013 23:23

Tucking No you don't come across as patronising. I only post from time to time and when I do it's normally a massive long post.

I seem to recall some of your posts making me smile (cant recall why exactly but I'm sure it was for a good reason).

Having an infection/virus will probably drag your mood down - they seem to with me especially on top of being pregnant

Hope we all manage to get some sleep tonight!

moonblues · 24/09/2013 23:27

Congratulations textbook and goodluck GT.

Hoping I manage to get more sleep tonight, soooo tired, but only 3 more days left at work, woohoo!

tuckingfits · 24/09/2013 23:36

Thanks dudes!

I do love the lowering of the tone posts :)

roxvox · 25/09/2013 00:05

Hope things calm down for you overnight jelly.

Good luck GT! Sorry it's not under the ideal circumstances, but fingers crossed you'll be cuddling a little newborn and your DS soon to make up for that!

tucking interesting to read your thoughts on raspberry leaf tea. I am always so dubious about taking these supplements, so I am glad that I am not just being paranoid over nothing. I probably will take some, but not just yet.

39 weeks today (Wednesday) and DH is 3+ hours away until Friday afternoon (5.5 hours away all day today), so I am going to be lying down with my legs higher than my bum for the next few days I think...

Dollybird86 · 25/09/2013 00:33

Hi I am a serious lurker and never post as it all moves to fast for me but I just wanted to say tuck the antibiotics that you're on could have given you thrush.
Hope you feel better soon!

& Flowers to everyone

tuckingfits · 25/09/2013 00:56

That's a very good point dollybird. Probiotics for me from tomorrow then! How are you keeping anyway?

I'm glad I haven't seemed to come over as patronising. I can cope with apologising for being childish & silly but I would hate to be patronising as well!

FeministInTraining · 25/09/2013 03:30

Good luck GT hope your induction is going smoothly. Sorry it took you by surprise.

Notso I meant to say earlier that your DS and DH (and dog!) sound lovely. My brothers are both teens (and I teach teenagers), I think teen boys especially get too much bad press, they can be really lovely!

Tucking I hope you manage to get rid of thrush symptoms. I had it on/off for about a year while I was studying, and often the feeling came before the visible signs... Slap on some yoghurt!

FeministInTraining · 25/09/2013 03:32

And also fx jelly baby stays cooking for a bit longer!

chickieno1 · 25/09/2013 03:37

Good luck gt thinking of you x

tucking hope you feel better soon.

And the probiotics are a good idea, for all of us! I'm taking them now as also meant to be good for reducing chances of thrush if breast feeding. Also if any of us need to take a'biotics for any reason.

Sleep tight ladies

MrsO27 · 25/09/2013 03:47

Ah, have caught the dreaded cold and now can't sleep! Yuck.
Good luck Gt

favellio · 25/09/2013 04:50

morning fellow insomniacs Sad

thinking of you GTThanks

sisteroutlaw · 25/09/2013 05:02

morning favellio and other non zzzs. Got bored of bed not bringing blissful sleep back to me. Do you all tend to occupy yourself til sleepy again or relax and hope it consumes you? x

funkky · 25/09/2013 05:04

Congrats Hayle! I remember you had a bit of a struggle early on in pregnancy and happy you seem to have had a quick labour to make up for it! Hope you and the little one are doing ok?

GT good luck!

Officially 40 weeks and due today, thou by my calculations I should be 40 weeks oct 1st which is why I am on this thread, but hospital always said I measured a week earlier. Staying awake hoping for a sign I will be one of those 5% of women that give birth on their due date. Hmm.

Everything is ready baby, please come out......!

favellio · 25/09/2013 05:39

I'm bored of trying to sleep now, so I'm just going to get up.

I'm 38 wks today, got a growth scan and consultant appointment at 10am, then having some "bump" photos done. I've also been with dh 7 years today (married a year) so might go out for dinner if I have any energy left by tonight!!

favellio · 25/09/2013 05:39

ps fx for you funkky Grin

Smitten1981 · 25/09/2013 06:24

I'm so over constantly having acid in my throat. Woke up at 4am with throat puke again panicking because I couldn't breathe. Wahhhh. Help Hmm

PseudoBadger · 25/09/2013 06:50

Smitten - omeprazole has changed my life! Can you get to your gp today? I don't have heartburn any more, let alone that awful bit you're describing. Good luck!

HotSoupDumpling · 25/09/2013 06:54

Good luck gt - don't worry about the things you haven't done. Baby won't notice and all the jigsaw pieces will come together in the end!

Smitten1981 · 25/09/2013 06:55

I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow so will mention it to her and make a GP appointment on my way out. It's scary being woken up like that!

MrsHoratioNelson · 25/09/2013 07:06

Yuck Smitten mine doesn't sound as bad as yours but I sympathise. Bump dropped and I was hopeful that the reflux would improve, but it seems to have got worse if anything Sad

PseudoBadger · 25/09/2013 07:19

Mine was so bad on thurs night that I rang the gp and begged her to help me over the phone! She wrote up the prescription and by Saturday the change is just amazing. Good luck x

OrangeBlossom2 · 25/09/2013 07:20

Good luck GT. Sorry you feel a bit unready, I know you stay in for 5 weeks which probably makes it worse but you can send DH out for anything you really need. Very excited that you will have your baby soon!

SC at 36+3. Very sore hips, legs and pubic bone with pgp now, getting up and down or laying on my side really hurts. Only two more days work this week as all day nct on Friday yay.

Despite my little wobble I think we are going to stick to MLU birth rather than at home just in case - we watched midwives last night and DH got very worried about the lady haemorrhaging. I think he probably has a point even though in all likeliness everything would be fine as it takes quite a while to get to hospital, especially in traffic.

Glad BP is better today Nat. Such a big difference in the numbers, was it a false reading? Still worth mentioning though.

Waves to all the new mummies and their babies.

JellyCurls · 25/09/2013 07:41

Thanks for good positive thoughts ladies, pleased to announce my status as SC at 39+2. BH tailed off at about 2am and started back up at about 5.30 so its a tired Jelly you have today. School run then consultant at 10.40 then home for a rest. DH away to work but just text to say he achy & shivery and can't stop sweating glad he not sitting next to me

Good luck GT sorry it a bit dramatic but for the best Thanks

Tucking sorry you are feeling like poo, hope you recover soon. I was in Largs on Sunday and was standing next to a very pregnant lady with a gorgeous little boy thinking "I wonder if that's Tucking". Need to get off mumsnet I think

Can't remember what else I was going to say so have a nice day ladies x
