anything a show is perfectly normal of your gestation xx

Just done bp again (cos I'm inpatient and can't wait 20 minutes lol) it was 138/86 so not sure what made that last reading so high I might just ring Gp or midwife in the morning and see if they will check it manually as when I went into labour with dd last time it went dangerously high and don't want to risk that again x

GTbaby · 24/09/2013 22:02

At some point tonight I will move from SC to IP.

My bile acids have gone up a bit. And had reduced movements. Combination of which has meant induction. I have nothing with me. Dh has gone to get stuff now. Thinking of alot of things I still had to do.
Didn't even say bye to lo. And he hasn't been well.

MrsHoratioNelson · 24/09/2013 22:05

Eventful day today - those on Facebook feel free to skip!

Feeling like crap this morning but assumed it was down to lack of sleep but couldn't rest for very long as midwife appointment this afternoon. Everything was going fine until trying to listen for the heartbeat at which point we couldn't hear anything other than a lot of whooshing.

The midwife rang through to the triage centre at the hospital and asked for us to be seen immediately to get checked over.

Cue lots of tears from me Sad

At the hospital they put me on a trace for an hour at which point baby's heartbeat was absolutely fine but they also noticed that I appeared to be having contractions every couple of minutes although I wasn't in any pain so they suggested an internal examination to check.

Slightly apprehensive as it was my first one but surprisingly it wasn't that uncomfortable...advised that my cervix is low and soft but not dilated just yet so sent home and advised to rest.

Sooooo, it could be days or weeks still but hopefully sooner rather than later. Feeling a little shaken up still and annoyed at GBBO (am I the only one to find Ruby so damn annoying?!) but hopefully will get a decent sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing the Next 'My First Christmas' links, I've bought the twin pack of sleep suits with the Christmas pudding and Christmas jumper looking one - very cute!

Shirehobbit · 24/09/2013 22:16

tuckingfits · 24/09/2013 23:08

Good luck GT I hope your induction runs smoothly & results in a beautiful baby pronto!

Sorry for coming across a bit over dramatic earlier. I haven't been well,DS came home from his trip away with DP with a stinking cold & a horrible attitude caught from his older undisciplined and overindulged cousin, which I then caught which turned into a sinus & chest infection, which I struggled with for a week before I got antibiotics a week ago. I still feel awful & DS has got another cold. PGP is horrendous, hormones are insane, once I start coughing it becomes uncontrollable along with my bladder,am having to wear pads to catch any escaped wee from rib crushing, bump pulling coughing fits & they seem to be irritating my lady bits & resulting in thrush-like itching without any visual evidence of thrush & I am feeling very sorry for myself. Which I appreciate is not very endearing.

I've commented before on raspberry leaf tea,but it may not have actually posted I suppose. There is evidence that taking raspberry leaf tea or tablets can actually prolong pregnancy. It is a uterine tonic (as in it tones the uterine muscle) & although we all know it isn't taken in the hope that it will bring on labour,it is supposed to makes contractions more effective. The studies suggest this isn't the case.

Similarly,I have always been wary of castor oil - it causes you to experience diaoroeah (sorry for dreadful spelling) which may or may not trigger contractions, but it can also cause the baby to have open it's bowels which could result in the baby being in distress. It is clearly each individual's decision to make, but I think it is important to be as aware as possible of all the risks & weigh them up for themselves.

I didn't mean to sound like a spoilt brat earlier,I think i didn't use my words very well - i want to keep posting, but i feel a bit of a fraud when i see how much the rest of you contribute & i know i just can't invest as much time. I pop up every now & then when i think i can help or offer advice but wonder if i am coming across as patronising or something.

Anyway,i hope somebody gets something from the raspberry leaf/castor oil info.

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 23:08

Grin This special pasta will do

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0014BIY9I

I think MIL would like it too...Smile

ananikifo · 24/09/2013 23:09

Good luck GT! I'm sorry it isn't under the best circumstances but just think if the lovely baby at the end of it.

We had a long conversation about going into labour at work today. Our secretary had a glass of castor oil and orange juice (mix vigorously and drink quickly because they don't actually mix) and went into labour the same day, after having diarrhoea of course. Other people at work knew a couple that went for a walk in the forest during labour and got lost. Also there was the story of the woman that have birth in the car on the way to hospital. DH ran in to hospital to get a doctor, who ran out, looked under the woman's skirt and said it didn't look like baby was coming soon, not realising the woman had the baby in her arms!Grin

clapham and everyone else, I hope you get some decent sleep!

claphammama · 24/09/2013 23:12

LOL! I was actually searching for airplane shaped pasta for you... how stupid of me... how innocent! I should have known better Grin

And don't underestimate MIL... she may be 77 but she read "50 Shades of Grey" last summer... and declared it "boring"!

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 23:15

Mil reads smut Grin I like her already! I read the books too, I think me and mil would be bezzie mates Smile

Tucking its only because we've all been sat around on ML with too much time on our hands that's why we post lots, well i speak for myself, your posts are equally as important and interesting and aren't patronising. Keep posting Smile
