I somehow missed that post MrsH.

37 weeks tomorrow by scan date or 37+5 by my own dates. Constant Braxton hicks tonight and back pain but not getting my hopes up.

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 19:22

Yes umlauf it did work I took it about 7pm had diorhea for a few hours which started around 8pm went to bed around 10.30 then woke up and one contracting xx

My sister also took it her diorhea took a bit longer to start but she also started contracting few hours after that finish and she was only 37 weeks when she took hers I was 39+3 when I took mine x

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 19:23

Woke up at 1am contracting is what I meant to say. ... X

MrsHoratioNelson · 24/09/2013 19:24

Oh jelly you poor thing. I was warned not to have a bath too soon in case it slowed things down. Could you try that!

legallyblond · 24/09/2013 19:33

No no... Bath could be risky! I was 2cm dilated with DD, had a 45 min bath and was 9cm when I got out. It def sped things up!!!

roofio87 · 24/09/2013 19:34

mrsh my mw won't see mr till 40+4 as thats when her clinic apps fall then she'll get them to see me at the hospital. just trying to be patient and hoping it won't get to that!!
natalie interesting that the castor oil was so successful for you and your sis, maybe I'll have to buy some!!

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 19:36

Aww jelly hope your dh isn't coming down with anything if this is the real thing for u. Try and rest up as much as u can the more active u are usually the more your uterus will cramp xx

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 19:36

Not very pleasant to drink though roofio and unlauf best to drink if down in one foul swoop cos if u stop u won't start again lol I mixed mine with apple and black current juice

PseudoBadger · 24/09/2013 19:41

Hi everyone, laid up with a cold today, sorry I've missed loads!
Stay in Jelly baby! Hope your DH gets better soon.
Congratulations to textbook!
I hope Hayle and Isaac are doing well, and that Tarlia's wound is improving.

MotherOfNations · 24/09/2013 19:42

Oh Jelly hope it comes to nothing for you.

Soupqueen · 24/09/2013 19:42

I thought castor oil wasn't recommended and could actually be dangerous? Has anyone else heard that or did I imagine it? I'm off to google....

roofio87 · 24/09/2013 19:44

apparently castor oil induces labour by giving you diarrhea and therefore stimulating your uterus to contract. eating mango has the samr effect on me so might buy and devour a couple tomorrow!! hahaGrin

Wickedgirl · 24/09/2013 19:46

I too have heard that castor oil isn't good. It can lead to a very upset tummy and severe stomach cramps but still no labour.

It isn't something I'd put myself through

Wickedgirl · 24/09/2013 19:53

I have heard that fresh pineapple works. here are some natural ideas and so are these

Umlauf · 24/09/2013 19:56

NO fLyer you guys cannot overtake me!! I will fight you for it, fisticuffs and everything!!!!!

Hmmm..... I am going on a proper castor oil hunt tomorrow!!!

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 19:59

I also read all the online stuff and I admit some of it does sound scary but like I say I did discuss it with my consultant and her words were 'yes I fully support you if that's what u want to do' obviously I understand its not for everyone x

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 20:00

GrinGrin Umlauf... Full on bitch scrap, hair pulling and all.

SeriousStuff · 24/09/2013 20:03

neen sounds promising!

BowlFullofJelly · 24/09/2013 20:03

Sunday I had chilli for lunch, ate a whole pineapple, walked for 2 hours, dtd - I'm still cooking! Bored bored - but GBBO now and dp gone out for fish and chips, happy days

Umlauf · 24/09/2013 20:04

Bring it!! [flyer] slightly scared of a Liverpool lass!!

Sanjifair · 24/09/2013 20:05

Wicked girl, I tried pineapple last time, certainly more pleasant than castor oil!!! However, I did a bit of research into it and it turns out you need to eat about 17 whole pineapples (including the centres) to get enough bromelain to have an effect. I did think of ordering bromelain from a health food shop, but it has 'do not take when pregnant' warnings all over it...

Umlauf · 24/09/2013 20:06

mon have you seen there's an Eliana thread in baby names? I'd never heard the name before so what a coincidence! I do really love it, it sounds so Shakespearean!

flyer I'm from Tunbridge Wells fights down south consist of dirty looks, pouting and tutting. I'll tut you for the right to give birth first!!

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 20:06

Lol umlauf I'm from Cheshire originally though so I'm a total wuss. Grin

Jelly Baby stay inside mummy tonight ....let another October bus passenger go instead. Smile

JellyCurls · 24/09/2013 20:12

As long as its not umlauf we are due day buddies and therefore we have to deliver on same day, is that right?

Umlauf · 24/09/2013 20:13
