Nat another vote for CAB here- any way you could pop in with a copy of DHs contract/any written info you have this week so that at least you know where you stand when speaking to the person at his work next week?

Cuille come to think about it my grandad (paternal) is very detached and from what I can make out always has been. I think my dad is determined not to be that parent. Neither of my parents had great role models in terms of their own parenting and I think I benefitted from it as they have both purposefully done the opposite to their own parents and made sure I always felt secure/loved. So in my experience, people who have experienced questionable parenting (and recognise this) make wonderful parents themselves. Hope that doesn't sound patronising Hmm

I'm with Nat and Flyer though, couldn't stay with someone for that long I need my own toilet and bed- and fridge Grin I guess it's the one good using about being in a small flat- no room at the inn!! We're planning a house in the next 18 months and have already given great thought to what we could fill a spare room with so that we don't have to have house guests Blush

Congratulations textbook!!! Wonderful that everything went well! X

Thanks everyone I am much better now. I was envious in the beginning of morning sickness because of being a sign of things going well???
Now when almost 36 weeks I starting being sick if I have anything slightly heavier to eat. And then diarrhea ( sorry tmi).
DS woke DH at 4 am to ask if baby was coming because I was vomiting downstairs without stopping. Dh said n" no ...go to bed" but ds insisted that maybe having ice cream would help me feel better. DH got up and went to tesco and bought a 1l tub of chocolate ice cream. I wasn't aware of any of this because was resting in the office with the dog with me looking very concerned. Dh came with some spoons and gave me the ice cream and ds ate with us ....
I was so proud of my boys!!!! Had a lie in and just arrived from work to find ds and a friend finishing of the ice cream! Ds thought that because I was well enough to go to work ( for 3 hours) he might as well ate what was left....
Oh well!!!!

chickieno1 · 24/09/2013 17:42

cuille why do your in laws have to stay so long?? You're in France right? Where are they coming from?

nat that's pretty crap about your dh leave. Hopefully it can get sorted ASAP.

I think I might turn out to be one of those mil s with the running commentary Blush I can be pretty bad. Esp muttering about how ridiculous plots etc are......

falcon please ring midwife at least xx

Pinkforboys · 24/09/2013 17:42

Nat you're like me- soon to be family of 4 in a 2 bed house. DS has already complained that he doesn't like what I've done to his room- moved his Ikea shelves around so I can fit in nappy changing station. THe pull-out sofa is in his room too.
Current visitor set up is they get his room and he moves into our bed. I can't see that working with baby as well.

Not sure how to persuade DH that we need to get rid of sofabed as it's mainly his mates/family that come visit from Oz and therefore for weeklong stretches min at a time. We just can't afford to move in Norf London at least until I'm back at work proper, other option is emigrate to the countryside. Any recommendations...?!??!

Pinkforboys · 24/09/2013 17:44

notso I love your boys!!!

chickieno1 · 24/09/2013 17:45

Brilliant notso! Not the sickness part but your ds and he ice cream :). How old is your ds?

cuillereasoupe · 24/09/2013 17:47

They live in Spain chick. They'll be here for a while because MIL is booked in for an operation (because, you know, Spanish hospitals are just so primitive Hmm) and will need time to convalesce. I think the message has got through to them that they need to rent somewhere close to the clinic for the first three weeks though.

ananikifo · 24/09/2013 17:53

Congratulations textbook! I hope you recover well and littleBeatrice comes home with you soon. That sounds like a great first feed, congrats!

DH jokes about how stressful it will be to have my parents stay with us for two weeks in November but considering how much time unexpected to spend with his parents, I have no sympathy. There was a time when he wasn't adjusting well to living in Manchester and we spent 3 weekends a month with his parents, driving 1 1/2 hours to their house on Fridays after work and coming home Sunday night. I had to put my foot down about that one! My mom gets stressed out by extended houseguests and she is trying her best already to plan it not to impose too much.

It was my last day in one of the offices I work in (I work at two places) and they have me nice flowers and a gift basket of baby toiletries and a gift card. Like a stupid idiot I forgot to bring anything in. I thought I would buy it at lunch but the gift shop was out of nice boxes of chocolates and I bought what I thought was a blank card but ended up being a birthday card!Blush I ended up leaving a box of heroes with no card. I'll have to just pop in next week with something homebaked. That's not too rude, right? I'm the most socially awkward person sometimes.

MotherOfNations · 24/09/2013 18:03

Just been thinking tuckingfits hasn't posted for a while.

MrsHoratioNelson · 24/09/2013 18:14

She posted earlier MoN saying she wasn't going to post any more because she can't keep up with the threads.

Pinkforboys · 24/09/2013 18:17

cuille did I read that right- your MiL is staying with you (new Mum with newborn) to convalesce?!? Oh Gawd! good luck!

ana I'm sure they'll love to get some homebaked goodies next week Smile

neenienana · 24/09/2013 18:31

Hello, I have been lurking but just wanted to say congrats to all those with newborns to snuggle. I am sc 37 plus 3. Had some spotting this am with clear discharge, mw thinks it cld be a show. I have been incredibly tearful for the last few days so not sure what's happening if anything. My two boys aged 6 and 8 are being so attentive and loving, its fab, they can't wait to meet their sister.

roofio87 · 24/09/2013 18:54

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 19:00

pinkbuttons · 24/09/2013 19:00

Desperately struggling to keep up, had to go back 100 posts to find an explanation for the barbie and Ken talk on facebook Grin
notso thats so lovely of Ds and DH! sorry to hear about awful sickness though.

nat sorry to hear your DHs work are being so awkward! really hope they can come to some sort of agreement soon.

falcon how are you? did you go and get checked out?

any pending labourers tonight?

Umlauf · 24/09/2013 19:02

Mmm Victoria sponge! I sent DH out for chocolate and castor oil and he came back with the measliest tiny square of chocolate I've ever seen, which of course has long been demolished, nothing to watch bake off with now!!

And no castor oil available. Angry

My bump went rock hard at lunch time and still is now, so not a contraction obv, but any ideas??

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 19:05

My mum started to put her baby shower plan in action earlier but telling dd she could come round Saturday afternoon as she is babysitting my neice and play knowing full well dd won't forget lol

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 19:06

I'm currently asking the universe to remove my mucus plug and get things moving asap. Grin

Umlauf Braxton Hicks? I read the closer to d-day you are the stronger and longer they last....fx. You are still behind me in the queue though Grin

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 19:08

umlauf I done the castor oil with dd, trying not to this time so I can have the spontaneous magic of suprisingly goin into labour... I'm only 37+1 I still have time to change my mins. I was skeptical about it but I discussed with my consultant and midwife and both were supportive of my decision

Umlauf · 24/09/2013 19:17

Am I flyer I'm due on Monday?! When are you?

I don't think its a BH as it's lasted about 7 hours!! DH can still hear the heartbeat though although he's not moved much I can force a protest movement if I poke him...

Did it work nat ?? They said they could order some in, considering trying another pharmacy...

MrsHoratioNelson · 24/09/2013 19:17

I have had the most bizarre urge to tidy things and have a sort out today - the carrier bags that have been sitting in my bedroom floor for months and also the bathroom cabinet. Odd.

Also the stretch marks on my stomach (which only appeared in the last few weeks Angry) have got much worse and are really itchy Sad

9 days until my EDD. Maybe this baby will be early after all. My 40 week appointment is booked for 4 days after my EDD because that's when my MW holds her clinics - do you think that matters? My money is on baby arriving on EDD+5, so lets hope it's not too late then! Somehow it seems important that I see the MW at full term before the baby arrives!

JellyCurls · 24/09/2013 19:18

The cramps are back big style, tummy and back, and BH are getting sorer every one. And as much as I have wished every night for something to happen - please please please not tonight as DH been in bed all day with flu like symptoms. Not man flu but proper illness, please send baby cooking wishes my way

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 19:20

Umlauf I'm not due to 13th Oct, however us 13th Oct folk have special clearance to labour first after hayle's performance last night Grin
