Congratulations textbook. I love her name.

Finally found a lightweight wrap in Boux Avenue. Just noticed it's viscose while I would have preferred cotton. I had to stop myself ordering loads of other stuff that I liked the look of. I can't wait to throw my Granny pants in the bin when I've recovered from my c-section. I bet Dp can't wait either.

MrsO27 · 24/09/2013 13:43

mrsh I need to look back to see exactly where I bought it last year, but they look like this -
Photo goes on one side and then I put the year and a short caption on the other, so this year it will be 2013 - ?'s first Christmas

MrsO27 · 24/09/2013 13:44

That link didn't work, used the wrong brackets - try this: www.thegiftexperience.co.uk/catalogue/photo_christmas_bauble/index.html?gclid=CJOM8vOG5LkCFQKWtAodKFQAJg

Pinkforboys · 24/09/2013 13:50

Congratulations textbook!!

MrsO27 · 24/09/2013 13:50

notonthehighstreet.com also do loads of gorgeous personalised (and non-personalised) baby related things.

MrsO27 · 24/09/2013 13:51

Oh and missed textbooks post! Congratulations x

takingachance · 24/09/2013 13:55

Congratulations textbook - gorgeous names btw... x

FeministInTraining · 24/09/2013 13:55

Cuille sorry to hear that, hope I don't sound too spoilt and ungrateful Blush
Maybe it's too much to ask for parents and in-laws to be 'just the right distance away' especially when that distance might change depending on how I feel that day

Congratulations Textbook I'm glad you're more impressed with the real thing than the scan pic! Flowers

Nat that sounds so stressful for you and DH. If he is prepared to lose a weeks pay then surely he wouldn't have to call in 'sick' but say he is taking unpaid leave? I would definitely challenge them if you have any record of the original conversation though and write an angry email explaining exactly why he needs to take unpaid leave at short notice. Angry for you.

FeministInTraining · 24/09/2013 14:00

And Tucking I have found the time today because I've spent most of the day sitting on my arse refreshing the page. Other days I'm lost- and found it impossible while still at work! I'm sure all posts are appreciated, don't feel bad Smile

JellyCurls · 24/09/2013 14:17

Congratulations textbook here's to a quick recovery for you

MoN very glam dressing gown. Mine is a white waffle one I bought when having DD and then never wore again till it went in hospital bag with DS and is now being resurrected again. I love my fluffy white towelling one from Long Tall Sally but its floor length so way to big to fit in any suitcase

Baby is super super active today, most active it's ever been. Wonder if that's a sign of labour, am away to google it hopefully

Pinkforboys · 24/09/2013 14:18

Tucking I'm only keeping up cos I'm at my computer 'working'.
Also managed to inhale a Gu American Cheesecake at the same time. I'm a genius at multi-tasking Grin

Does anyone know how much raspberry leaf tea we're supposed to consume for the benefit? I've just started today and am quite impressed at the taste but don't want to OD and end up with droopy cervix Hmm

Soupqueen · 24/09/2013 14:30

Congratulations textbook and hayle! Lovely news.

feminist, I feel your pain but in my case it's my father in law. He wants a call as soon I feel the first twinge so that he can start driving down (6 hour drive away) and see the baby "immediately". So not happening! We had a bit of a discussion about managing visitors at yoga today, consensus is that it's best to manage expectations in advance. I'm just not sure how we have the conversation, I think our expectations are so far apart. Will discuss with DH tonight, at least I know from you ladies and the ladies at yoga that what I want (quick visit then left in peace) is not unreasonable.

clapham and jelly, I really feel for you with house guests. It doesn't matter how lovely someone is, having someone else in your house is the last thing you need right now.

I've probably missed loads, but am off for a snooze, I've been far too busy and need some snooze time!

chickieno1 · 24/09/2013 14:32

Congratulations textbook lovely names xx

Hope you're doing ok tucking

MotherOfNations · 24/09/2013 14:36

I've got a couple of big fluffy ones jelly but maternity wards are so hot and it's really just something to shove over the arse flashing surgical gown for the walk down to theatre.

JellyCurls · 24/09/2013 14:47

True about hospital temps and special care is about 10C warmer than the everyday ward. Mine was only worn walking from delivery to ward.

roofio87 · 24/09/2013 14:55

Hmmm nat sounds rubbish. have they said why he is not entitled to pat leave? surely if its because hes self employed then he can technically just take timenoff whenever he wants. even if that means being unpaid? sounds very unfair.

Slippysnow · 24/09/2013 14:55

Oooh another baby and another girl! What a change from all the 20week scan announcements . Congratulations textbook and family

MrsO27 · 24/09/2013 15:02

nat does your DH have anything in writing from his work saying they would pay? Even just an email?
It might be worth a call or visit to citizen's advice about paternity pay as even if you're self employed I think there are cases where you can claim the money directly yourself and your DH would just need to inform his employer that he's taking the time off unpaid. My DH is a self-employed contracter too, he has his own limited company and pays himself a wage (and pays tax via PAYE and NI in addition to corporation tax). I'm sure his accountant told him he could claim the £140 or so you get per week (up to 2weeks).

TheFalconsmistress · 24/09/2013 15:13

Congrats textbook!! Lovely name!! xxx

Just had another big clot but really don't want to go into hospital again it was about the size of a tennis ball so a good bit smaller than the last bleuh...fed up of it Think i will just wait it out till mw comes tomorrow.

GTbaby · 24/09/2013 15:21

Falcon last time I was told anything bigger then 50p coin to go in. Tennis ball sized is considerably bigger.
I know hospitals are rubbish. But pls don't risk your health. Pls call the ward at the very minimum.

MrsHoratioNelson · 24/09/2013 15:28

Congrats textbook love the name - Beatrice is our first choice if we have a girl.

Just had to spend an hour having tea with the mad lady across the road. It's all DH fault - he keeps being nice to her DH and then she invited me over. They've got a very badly behaved black lab that jumped all over me, slobbered on me then bit my bag and her house stank of dog Sad. I have no problem with dogs at all - my DSis has a yellow lab but hers is so well trained I don't think I've ever heard the dog bark and she would never jump or bite.

GTbaby · 24/09/2013 15:40

Managed a 3hour morning nap. Lol.

Cherry how you finding your lo? Mine has a cold and is clingy ATM as well. I'm exhausted. N having to carry him is such a pain.

BH description of baby stretch is exactly what I thought it was at first. Although I get it with a slightly achy feeling.

Love the bauble idea. I'm going to a pottery cafe to do hand print baubles. Thought it might be a nice family Xmas tradition to start. As well as Santa's grotto trip to Harrods which is already booked. We also do a dinner out with bils n sils with kids which is always nice.

Um - I had same experience at LV. 3rd time I went in as a last chance n met a lovely (trainee) assistant. I worked at Harrods a few summers n they made it part of their training that we were never to judge anyone by their appearance.

Oh and congrats hayle ruby n text. Can't wait to join you in the post natal gang.

TheFalconsmistress · 24/09/2013 15:42

Thanks Gt The one I had the other day was about 3 times the size of that they never did much just monitored me and said i had to be admitted in case of more I know if I phone i will have to go in and not much will happen I need to get blood checked though :(
