I don't know, I pop in here for a ten minute respite at lunch and I find you discussing the merits of Ken v Action Man?! Shock
Is this what maternity leave does to you?

(If so, three and a half days and counting... Grin )

FeministInTraining · 24/09/2013 12:23

reliving my childhood

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 12:29

Omg GrinGrinGrinfeminist this ken has major dodgy looking hair colour, I think he must have been brown and used sun-in as its some yellow/orange colour...pisser

FeministInTraining · 24/09/2013 12:32

Flyer I loved him. What are you saying about my taste in men at 6?! Grin

MrsHoratioNelson · 24/09/2013 12:36

MrsO where will you get your bauble drom? I'm a sucker for Christmas :)

roofio87 · 24/09/2013 12:36

It was action man all the way in our household (see fb for pic of knitted outfit my mum made him!!)

just wondered up to the square near me, has a fair few shops but never had anywhere to go for lunch or a coffee which I've always thought was a shame. but suddenly a costa coffee has appeared, I got so excited dp thought I was being ridiculous, but will be so nice to have somewhere I can go to with baby!!
right, ive been up for 5 hours which really is enough so going for a nap!!

Flyer747 · 24/09/2013 12:39

Actually i think we had more Sindy's than Barbies in our household. Sindy was a much better role model she had curves and wasn't as pretty as Barbie Grin

doobeedee · 24/09/2013 12:40

Umlauf, I could have written your message about going into labour with no warning and being too ready. I think we're due date buddies too. I'm bored. The excitement in my day so far has been a walk to Morrisons!

roofio87 · 24/09/2013 12:50

flyer yes we had sindys too. she had flat feet and wore sensible shoes unlike barbie!!

yes, garage just phoned, we can finally pick up dps new car tomorrow, then ikea on thurs and then the baby can officially arrive!

Slippysnow · 24/09/2013 12:52

I know I've asked about bh on here before and someone gave me a really good wx

FeministInTraining · 24/09/2013 12:54

I found my Sindy! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-VINTAGE-PARTY-LIGHTS-SINDY-DOLL-8139-HASBRO-1991-MIB-NRFB-/130936835863

Think my mum had a thing about hair??!

Slippysnow · 24/09/2013 12:54

I know I've asked about bh on here before and someone gave me a really good were like sit ups. I should've asked at the time, but was that description the pain or the tensing of the bump? Because I have a painless visible tensing of my stomach but just thought it was baby doing spread eagle or star jumps. It's completely painless. What do you think?

cazboldy · 24/09/2013 12:55

Hi all

No hope of keeping up!!!

SC here 38+1

Congratulations Ruby and hayle GrinFlowers

roofio87 · 24/09/2013 12:58

slippy my bh are completely painless. when on monitor last week I couldn't notice them at all but was having them regularly. my tummy goes rock hard, like a basket ball for about a minute at a time, but doesn't hurt at all. I usually only notice if stood up at the time!!

Pinkforboys · 24/09/2013 13:01

Here's one for you flyer ebay sindy

FeministInTraining · 24/09/2013 13:03

Slippy that sounds like bh- I feel mine happening now, but they're not painful just feel like involuntary tensing. I know they aren't baby stretching as my belly goes hard all around my belly iyswim. They've been getting a bit stronger lately and sometimes come with a bit of pressure on my cervix- cue me thinking it could be the start of something each time.

Pinkforboys · 24/09/2013 13:05

slippy I second roofio's description- it's a bit like baby is vacuum packed for a few seconds. Makes me stop in my tracks if I'm walking.

thethreeblondies · 24/09/2013 13:06

I've still got my Sindys and Barbies, just posted pic on fb! DH also has loads of his old toys! I'll admit I do have hoarding tenancies, I feel sorry for the hoarders on telly having to clear out their things Blush

Slippysnow · 24/09/2013 13:12

Vaccuum packed baby sounds bang on! Very exciting :) glad I have no pain with them.

I'm only 35 + 4 so will be hanging out on the thread with all the jealous, overdue, foot stomping mums all waiting for their baby's eviction. But won't mind if he shows up anytime after 5th of October when I will be at a wedding on the isle of sheppy :s

textbook · 24/09/2013 13:26

Hello all! Thea Beatrice was born at 10:48 weighing 7lb 5oz Grin she is amazing, latched on in recovery and fed for an hour (greedy!!), now having a snooze. I'll post some pics later, she's much less weird looking than the scan led me to believe Grin

Hope you're all good xx

cuillereasoupe · 24/09/2013 13:26

I understand about your dad feminist but mine's completely the other way - so uninterested he's leaving for South Africa for a month on my due date Confused. At least I know where my sister gets it from...

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 13:30

Ahhhh how lovely text thanks for the prompt post c section update :-) look forward to seeing some lovely pics later on Xxx

tuckingfits · 24/09/2013 13:36

Congratulations on all the lovely new babies.

I am SC at 37+2. Have given up trying to keep up with posting on the thread,I'm keeping up with reading but I don't know where you find the time to keep up AND post. Am sure my random contributions won't be missed anyway,I just wanted to say congrats to all the new mummies with their lovely diddly babies. Smile

Natalieand · 24/09/2013 13:37

I need a rant dh work is so god damn selfish

Although he is self employed he worked for the same company before but on a normal PAYE basis and when he changed to the new self employed contract we specifically asked about paternity leave/pay as we knew we were ttc and they assured him that he would get it and be paid for it now he has just emailed hr to remind them my due date is just round the corner to which they have responded and said he will not get paternity leave or paternity pay and he has no holiday to take (even tho he's self employed he gets 20 days holiday) as earlier in the year if any of u remember he had his appendix out and had to take that holiday too have his two hospital stays!!

I'm so upset now panicking they won't even let him have time off when I'm in labour and how I'm gunna get dd to school etc with a 24 hour old baby!!

My mum thinks he should just ring in sick for a week and loose a weeks pay but is your wife having a baby a reason to ring in sick? Will they even accept that as an excuse

HotSoupDumpling · 24/09/2013 13:39

Congrats textbook! Glad it went well and you didn't have to wait too long! I hope mine gets done as quickly...
