Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Trinpy · 26/09/2013 19:05

See some others also had their dating scan today Smile .

Had mine earlier today, baby has grown so much and it's amazing seeing little fingers and toes. Due date has been moved again to 4/4/14 (easy to remember!) which makes me 12+6 Grin .

crazycranberry · 26/09/2013 19:17

Congrats trinpy on your scan! Are you further along that you thought or has your due date been pushed back?

I am paranoid and v.anxious and my scan is not until 10th Oct! Eeeek! The wait feels like forever (I know we are all in the same boat!). DP wants me to stop worrying cos it's not healthy Angry - I do know this! He has suggested I contact midwife to see if my scan can be brought forward and if not he wants me to have one done privately to stop me from stressing out. I know he is just worried about me and Jellybean but I a can't help the random thoughts that pop into my head.
My nausea was gone today - just like that! and this is also making me fret that something has changed. It's a roller coaster ride that's for sure. Anyone else had this?

10+3

BlessedAssurance · 26/09/2013 19:48

trinpy congratulations on your scan and your due date is a day after mine. I haven't received a letter for the scan yet so am hoping it will show up sooner or later.

Concerning nausea, mine is not as bad as it was with DC1. Maybe that's because i am eating at every turn.

Congrats to all who had their scans today. Very interesting stuff..

BlessedAssurance · 26/09/2013 19:49

crazy if i may echo your DP's words, stop worrying, it shall be well. Easier said than done though isn't it?

ChocChaffinch · 26/09/2013 20:03

Hi Blessed, byt he way! congratulations on your bfp

crazy - others down the thread said symptoms come and go; sadly my nausea is like an unstoppable express train

I don't want to see any of my friends because Im such a miserable bastard !!

Trinpy · 26/09/2013 20:08

Thanks Smile . My due date is sooner than I thought (8th April) but later than my mw thought (25th march) - so we were both wrong!

crazy sickness comes and goes. I have days when I feel great and others when I can't keep anything down. It is very unusual to get as far as the 12 week scan to find the baby has died when there has been no bleeding. As we sadly read yesterday, it can happen, but chances are everything is fine Smile

BlessedAssurance · 26/09/2013 20:16

thank you choc love the name because it is very close to choc chip cookiesGrin. Food is all i think about now.

I think i have become a bit stupid with this pregnancy. When the doc asked me when last i had had my period, i could not remember. How could i not remember? I gave him three dates, and needed DH to confirm the right oneBlush

BlessedAssurance · 26/09/2013 20:20

i must bid you all a good night. Early and busy day tomorrow for me. All the best with the vom, ahh the good times[times]. Sometimes i am just so surprised at how much women have to go through when pregnant, then when they give birth.. All that for our little darling..Thank God it is all worth the pain and the nausea and everything that goes or comes with it..

See you later ladies..

BlessedAssurance · 26/09/2013 20:21

meant to put a smile on the good timesGrin

Bodeccia · 26/09/2013 21:01

My scan was a waste of time today, I'm too early at 10+4 so I have to go back in two weeks. Nice to see the little bubas though, they're still there :)

dobedobedo · 26/09/2013 21:04

I had my dating scan and my dates were totally wrong. I'm only 7+4! Due date isn't until 11th May. So I'm kinda relieved that I haven't subjected my baby to too many drunken nights out, but also I still have so much first trimester left! Suppose I'll mosey on over to the May thread... Smile xxx

LightTripper · 26/09/2013 22:55

Oh no, dobedo, we'll miss you! You have to promise not to have more fun on the May thread than here... Smile

Speaking of fun, having not vommed since Saturday, just had a lovely bedtime super vom. Lucky I have been carrying my washing up bowl everywhere I go like a favourite teddy, as I had hardly any warning. Fun fun fun... Ugh. Roll on week 12 (or whatever week the blooming starts!)

Have just been reading apparently if you get travel sick it is much more likely you get morning sickness, and I was a very travel-sicky child, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that this bit is not fun.

Anyway, scan tomorrow. Hoping I manage to keep it together for the travel and the sonographer! Early days, but they should at least be able to say if something is there and in the right place I hope. Fingers crossed for all tomorrow's other scanees xx

I have my scan today and last night me and oh couldnt find the hb on the doppler took ages and a very full bladder but oh found it and I could tell as he started grinning and I heard it as well. I was relieved so relieved I decided the throw up with no warning whilst washing my face in the sick sorry for tmi. I also was physically sick this morning. Im starting to think maybe I have my dates wrong and im not 12 + 4 wks as my nausea has stopped and im not as tired as I was but actual sickness has increased. grrr. Im still really nervous about my scan want to get it done and know outcome asap gunna be a long morning. Heres to sticky thoughts for me at 2pm and everyone else.

12+4 wks

LightTripper · 27/09/2013 09:26

Sending sticky thoughts Vikki! May neither of us throw up on our sonographer ....

Chasingclouds · 27/09/2013 14:59

My scan is booked for 16th october, but I will be 13w 4d and I'm totally freaking out because they can only do the NT test for Down's syndrome before 13w 6d so if my dates are slightly out I'm screwed, and I do often ovulate early :( so upset!!! I don't know what to do.

LightTripper · 27/09/2013 17:05

I'm sure it will be fine chasing, but is it worth phoning them up and seeing if you can do better? Maybe they'll have a cancellation if you can go at short notice?

LightTripper · 27/09/2013 17:28

My scan was good. Only one in there, and all looks good and in the right place! Really looked more like a baby than I expected, and amazing to see him or her moving about, hadn't realised how much difference it would make to see them actually jigging around rather than just a snapshot. Went for Panorama test in the end (very like Harmony) and should get the results in a couple of weeks (hopefully around the same time as my 12 week scan).

Vikkijayne2507 · 27/09/2013 18:24

hi all scan was good just the 1 bouncing around saw arms legs nose very surreal but now excited 2 days back but I knew that as I knew my ov date was later than 14 days. so am now due 9th April am 12 weeks 2 days

Chasingclouds · 27/09/2013 18:26

Awww so glad your scan went well light, I must admit I haven't heard of panorama before, is it something available on the NHS or are you paying privately?

I have high FSH levels so it's a miracle I conceived naturally at all, but on top of that there is a very increased chance of miscarriage and chromosome disorders which has me steadily more freaked out as the days go by!

Thanks for the idea about asking if they get a cancellation, I will phone on Monday.

Chasingclouds · 27/09/2013 18:28

Oops sorry we posted at the same time, really glad yours went well too vikki!

Aargh mine is just forever away!!

crazycranberry · 27/09/2013 18:36

Glad your scan wen t well.........What's a Panorama test LightT?
Is this something to do with Downs?

Shame you are heading off to the may thread dobedobedo been lovely seeing your posts Smile

I had a day at home today watching rubbishy day time TV but to be honest I was quite chilled so probably did me some good (if they ever introduce 'worrying' as an Olympic event I would win Gold!) Wink

Latest health/body development is that I have 3 large mouth ulcers (symptom of auto immune condition I suffer from) & my top lip so swollen that eating & drinking is painful. Can't use my usual numbing spray whilst pregnant -Doh! How annoying! Wonder if they have appeared cos I'm being a stress head? Either way, the ulcers top trump the nausea (what an odd thing to be pleased about!).

BindiBarbarella · 27/09/2013 18:37

Crazy I am glad you brought up lack of symptoms as I am the same today...I'm 10+5 and have had bad nausea/sensitivity to smells/going off foods etc for about 5 weeks then I woke up this morning and...nothing?! I was also freaked out and was googling like mad. I have found a lot of positive answers essentially saying what all of the ladies on here have said, that symptoms come and go and it's completely normal. Seen as we are around the same stage let's look at it as a positive and try not to worry! My scan is 11th Oct so 2 weeks to go! Good luck and sending you positive vibes :) xxx

crazycranberry · 27/09/2013 18:38

Oops posted at the same time - really glad your scan went well too vikki!

crazycranberry · 27/09/2013 18:41

Thanks Bindi appreciate the vibes. (Actually thanks to all you lovely ladies for any reassuring etc).
My scan is 10th Oct. can't come soon enough Smile

wendle70 · 27/09/2013 19:25

Hello everyone I think I'm in the right place although all you ladies seem to be a little ahead of me...I'm 10 weeks exactly today (due 26 April). I wish I'd found this thread earlier..it has made me laugh out loud. Glad I am not the only one feeling like this. I have put on 6 pounds at least (though weirdly bump is MUCH bigger in evening than first thing in morning..must be gas eek). Had to buy jeans one size bigger and now a week later even they don't fit me!! Need new tights as a matter of emergency.

I don't think a vegetable has managed to pass my lips for weeks as all I can eat are carbs and sweets (poor little bean..it can't be good). I feel sick as a dog (just started puking in the evening and some mornings too). Tried travel bands and nevasic app but neither made much difference. Skin has also gone terrible (it's the terrible diet no doubt).

So sick of my own moaning let alone what my other half must think. Can't subject too many friends to it! Have told far too many people already as have a ginormous mouth and now regretting it in case something awful has happened. But I figured I'd want them to support me if it did. Will hold off telling work until 12 week scan over although somehow the CEO wangled it out of me last week when we met for the first time. He is sworn to secrecy. Hmmn. Oh and it's a new job! I found out the day before I started...oh dear!

12 week scan feels like ages away on 14th Oct but I have decided to opt for Harmony test privately as am 36 and weirdly it is £180 cheaper if you also have an early scan (due next Thurs) and a nuchal 2 weeks later. I had 2 early NHS scans because I had some period pains at 5 weeks but all was fine - last one they saw the heartbeat at 7 weeks. Now v nervous about the scans as realising I might not have realised if something has gone wrong. Might get DH to come along. Actually should he be DB as we are not married...?

That is prob way too much information sorry! Wishing you lots of luck with the scans and such like. Ohhh I am so looking forward to not feeling sick. When I get the odd 10 mins of feeling normal it feels so nice!
