Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

Hi everyone, sorry I disappeared for a while - I've been having a quick read through the thread to catch up on everyones news.

So sad to hear your news cookie. I dont have anything to add to what everyone else has said except that I'm so sorry you had to find out this way.

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow but feeling much calmer now I've seen a healthy baby at 10 weeks. Dh still hasnt told many people because he's paranoid there will be a problem tomorrow, which I can understand since the memory o the mc is still quite fresh, and I think it's shaken his confidence.

I was told yesterday that what I thought was just my stomach getting a bit fat is actually the baby Blush . Don't think I will be able to keep this secret from work for much longer!

Oh I know that one crazy. I tried to explain to my OH that telling me not to get stressed because it's bad for the baby is ... Erm... A bit stressful? Bless him, he has taken the hint!

LightTripper · 25/09/2013 18:06

Good luck for Tuesday cookie, let us know how you are!

catameringue · 25/09/2013 18:19

So sorry cookie, thoughts with you.

I'm not convinced mine is 'viable' - my early scan was so early it just looked like a blob. Other people are excited for me but I'm not as I can't afford to get emotionally invested if it's all for nothing.

I've had my parents over today - my df just sat there whilst dm did 6 hrs of cleaning for me.

Saw my gp and he's written me a note for my employer hinting that I may go off sick if things don't improve. I'm hoping to use it as leverage for them to lighten my workload.

BindiBarbarella · 25/09/2013 18:39

cookie so sorry to hear your news :( take care of yourself and give yourself time to grieve xxx

LightTripper · 25/09/2013 19:25

Are you still struggling to keep anything down catameringue? Sorry you aren't doing so well. Good that your family have been rallying round! Do you have another scan coming up?

catameringue · 25/09/2013 19:43

I can keep lemon tea and wispa bars down.
It's not great.
It's not just keeping it down that's tricky it getting anything in at all. Everything tastes and smells gone off.

I think I have a reasonable pain threshold but my ability to handle nausea and vomming is pathetic.

LeeHandy · 25/09/2013 19:45

caz and chasing so if we feel movement only after 17 weeks or so, then I guess I imagined it. It definitely felt like little butterflies on one side of my stomach though.

LightTripper · 25/09/2013 20:05

Poor you. I'm also crap at feeling sick (getting slightly better at it but not being tested nearly as much as you). How many weeks are you? I'm just at 10, and the actual vomming is much less though still feel rubbish... Maybe the end us close? I read somewhere hormone levels peak at 8-10 weeks, so am hoping its downhill from here...

Are boiled sweets any good for you? I use them in the evenings to mask the horrible taste in my mouth...

LightTripper · 25/09/2013 20:07

Of course, all my teeth will fall out, but that feels like the lesser of two evils. Confused

BlessedAssurance · 25/09/2013 20:32

Hello everyone. My name is Blessed and my due date is april the 3rd. I was pleased to see this thread. Hoping everyone is doing fine, well as fine as they can be with all the puking that comes with the first trimester..

Chasingclouds · 25/09/2013 20:45

Aww I'm sorry crazycranberry that sounds so stressful. Until you get your scan and speak to the consultant I really would try not to worry.

I completely ruined my pregnancy with my daughter, because it was after 2 miscarriages. I spent the entire time beyond anxious and bordering hysterical that something was wrong, that this baby would die too, and literally ALL it did was stress me out, possibly contribute to her being born prematurely, and mean that I really didn't enjoy a minute of it. I promised myself that this pregnancy I would think positively and not do the same thing again and honestly it really works. Just push all the worries out of your mind, and take a deep breath and say to yourself "I believe that everything is ok." Sorry I hope I don't sound like a hippy or something!

lighttripper just go for it with the boiled sweets! My teeth were terrible after last pregnancy from all the stomach acid from throwing up - yuk!!!! So I'd definitely go for the boiled sweets over that (plus we get free dental while pregnant I suppose!)

leehandy it really might have been, apparently you can feel it sooner if you're very slim, and some women are just more sensitive to it. Trust me when I say you will definitely know it's baby when they get big enough, it's one of the best feelings ever!

catameringue can your mum come tidy up for me too? Grin

Bodeccia · 25/09/2013 20:51

Scan tomorrow for me, I'm sure there is someone else whose is tomorrow too? I'll be glad to see them in there, I hope they're both ok...

Totally am showing, still haven't bought clothes yet, waiting for payday!

Misty9 · 25/09/2013 21:15

Hi all
cookie so sorry to hear your news :( hope you have good support around you.

Managed to get scan date moved thankfully and it's next Friday, so only the day after the proposed date. Got enough to stress about with the move and work, without adding to it! More decorating today though wasn't a good day as feeling very dizzy and sick. cata I know what you mean about pain vs nausea - I gave birth to ds via induction with no pain relief but have coped so badly with nausea! Incidentally, I refused gas and air precisely because I hate feeling nauseous!

Does anyone else have to eat very regularly, or else feel awful? Sat in bed munching a flapjack as if I don't eat before sleeping I feel terrible by morning. I've always had blood sugar issues, but this is ridiculous!

Hello Blessed, welcome to team vom!

dobedobedo · 26/09/2013 07:19

Got my dating scan tonight - I'm a nervous wreck! So much for "this time around I'm much more relaxed about being pregnant"! Confused

CazInLondon · 26/09/2013 10:23

I do feel like I need to eat constantly to keep nausea at bay, Misty9. Yesterday I was out shopping and feeling like I was going to throw up all over a shop front, so rushed to Pret for a sandwich and felt instantly better. And today, right now, despite having had breakfast, I want to eat already! When my stomach's empty it gets kind of painful and the nausea gets worse.

I'm worried if I keep going like that, I'll put on loads of weight and therefore struggle to keep my pregnancy a secret for a few weeks at work. Mind you, maybe putting on weight is a good option, I can just say I've got love handles and a pot belly due to too much chocolate and crisps!

xx

Good luck today, dobedobedo and Bodeccia!

prettyinpink90 · 26/09/2013 10:34

Good luck dobe and bodeccia for your scans today!

LightTripper · 26/09/2013 10:37

Hey Caz, are you actually putting on weight though? I've been eating constantly for 2 weeks and only put on a couple of pounds (having lost half a stone to start with ... I guess due to giving up the booze and the milky coffees...). I have no idea where it is all going. Maybe eating little and often isn't actually that many more calories, though it definitely feels like it is. Or maybe I am growing a monster giant baby...

Good luck to ladies having their scans today! Mine is tomorrow (I think VikkiJaynes too?), which I'm looking forward to but also nervous about! I'm taking the day as holiday, as I don't suppose I'll get anything useful done in the morning anyway...

ThedementedPenguin · 26/09/2013 14:44

I got my letter today for my 20 week anomaly scan for the 20th November. Seems so far away.

bLooming2 · 26/09/2013 15:04

scan tomorrow so nervous and exited Grin Grin hope everyones scaans went ok today xxx

CazInLondon · 26/09/2013 15:36

Lots of scans coming up soon, very exciting! Still another 2 weeks before mine.

Yes it's strange LightTripper, but I haven't put on any weight yet either, despite devouring everything in sight. With my first, by the time I was 10 weeks I reckon I'd already put on half a stone! Strange, but hey, I've learned from my previous pregnancy to just trust my body (I put a fair amount of weight on in the first 5 months or so and it made me think I'd end up a whale, but it all evened out eventually and my weight gain was totally within guidelines. So i figure, life's too short to worry about it too much - your body's gonna do what it's gonna do!!).
