Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

OP posts:

i think you get bigger in the first trimester, then not much bigger until your milk comes in.

Vikkijayne2507 · 19/09/2013 23:07

im usually a 34d and couldn't fit ub nt normal Size qiew bra by 7 wks they were so sore si bought a maternity bra and it's heaven. I think they have chilled out in growth now but still bit sore and harder than b4

Vikkijayne2507 · 19/09/2013 23:08

oh 11+ 3 wks

learnasyougo · 20/09/2013 01:34

you guys should definitely check out the numerous bra intervention threads on here. This adding 4 or 5 to you're band measurement is all wrong apparently. I thought I was a 34DD, but I'm actually a 32G! my bras fit beautifully now.

dobedobedo · 20/09/2013 08:38

Hey can I join in? JUST found out I'm 12 weeks pregnant. So the whole first trimester lasted a week for me. Thank Jeebus!

Number 2 for me - I have an 8 year old boy too!

Cannotbelieveit · 20/09/2013 09:04

Welcome dobe!! How great to fly thru that bit!

cookielove · 20/09/2013 09:26

Wow dobe you skipped the best part Grin

longbath · 20/09/2013 09:38

dobe, that's so convenient, I'm jealous ;) Haven't you had any symptoms at all? Congrats and welcome x

I definitely need a new bra. Showing a little bit but it's mostly donuts at this stage; I'm going to look like a whale, no doubts about that Confused

Oh I have had symptoms. Bleuugh. And I've went right off most foods. Especially sweet things and chocolate! I was in Italy for a couple of weeks and I put it down to all the wine and weird raw meats I was eating. Also I broke my ribs in a go karting accident a couple of months ago so put the missed periods down to that!
Really it's quite amazing I'm still pregnant at all! Hopefully the not knowing doesn't mean I've done any damage. I'm trying to remain positive. Haven't had a scan yet, but a midwife is coming to see me at home this weekend and she said she'll sort one pronto.
I remember being a nervous wreck with my first - I acted as if I was terminally ill, and that's no good for anyone! This time I'm determined to try and take it in my stride and enjoy it.
My other half (dp I think you kids are calling it these days) is taking really good care of me, bless him. This is his first baby and he's buying all the books and ginger nut biscuits (eating most himself, mind) and other pregnancy tests just to "make sure". Plonker! Grin

cookielove · 20/09/2013 09:54

Ahhh thats really sweet of of your oh. I wish dh would buy me pregnancy test. He put a ban on them Blush

LightTripper · 20/09/2013 10:13

I've got a spare test in my drawer! Only ever used 1 in my life, and it said YES in about 2 seconds flat. Does that make me a weirdo?! Wink

Given how I'm feeling I amnesty confident the hormones are still there. Blech. Had a nice morning com today to make a lovely change... Maybe it means I'll get a day off evening hell, what do you reckon? Hmm

LightTripper · 20/09/2013 10:14

Amnesty = am pretty. Sheesh!

LightTripper · 20/09/2013 10:16

And com = vom. Maybe my autocorrect is trying to protect you all from my moaning?

Still, 9+2, and 1 week to first scan, so holding on to that as the next "target"! Just need to hang on in there...

longbath · 20/09/2013 10:27

Hi light, 1 week... I wish I could say it was going to go very fast, sorry :( Do you have another scan scheduled for around 12 weeks? x

dobe At least you had a chance to fully enjoy Italy, if you had known you were pg, there wouldn't have been any wine and raw meats ;)

On this note, I SOOOOO MISS SUSHI

Thanks long! Yes, I have a normal 12 week one too - this is just associated with Harmony, but should be good enough to tell me if there is a foetus and whether it is in roughly the right place I hope. I am also slightly scared in case it's twins, given me feeling quite rough, and I have twin first cousins... I have friends with twins and they are super cute (girl and boy! Why is that cuter?), but we didn't really see them for the first year, they were so knackered!

LightTripper · 20/09/2013 10:51

Hmm just had another thought... Suspect my morning vom may have lost my vitamin tablet... Should I take another one do you think? I also have some straight folic acid, maybe that would be safer to make sure I don't get too much of anything else?

dobedobedo · 20/09/2013 11:06

Dunno Light - another folic acid can't hurt, can it?

LightTripper · 20/09/2013 11:10

Thanks dobedobedo (love your name!). I am going to do that - I don't think it can do any harm. And also congratulations on zooming straight into week 12!!!

prettyinpink90 · 20/09/2013 11:39

Morning ladies!

dobe congrats! how lovely that you have already skipped your first trimester. Your OH sounds just as excited aside, aren't they sweet!

I've had my booking in scan this morning which was exciting but so much to take in! She was telling me about the birth centre where she delivers and it sounds so lovely, much more personal than our local hospital but feel a little wary if something went wrong and we needed to be rushed to the hospital. Has anyone else chosen a birth centre over a hospital?
My scan is on the 7th October when I'll be 12+1. Chosen to go for the combined screening scan.

dobedobedo · 20/09/2013 12:14

Pretty The birth centre sounds lovely - I'm hoping there's one near to where I live, go for it. I had my first in a normal labour ward in a hospital but they transferred me to the birth centre for five days after the birth so I could get the hang of breastfeeding! I know, jammy cow! The normal maternity ward was full.
My other half is way more excited/nervous/scared/everything than me. It's weird. I never would have expected him to react like this. It's nice! (if a little annoying!)

cookielove · 20/09/2013 14:39

I've chosen a hospital but the midwife led unit within it! As I want a water birth :)

Vikkijayne2507 · 20/09/2013 17:22

I heard the HB on my doppler. Im amazed. It was defo not my hb as I could hear mine as well and it was vvv fast but i kept losing it quickly so couldnt count but much faster than mine. Am all funny now its actually real just wow wow. Scan is next week and I feel much better was starting to worry for no reason there was nothing there.

11 + 4 wks

LightTripper · 20/09/2013 17:41

Oh wow Vikki, that's so exciting!! And now you don't have to be so on tenterhooks for the scan, yay!

Cannotbelieveit · 20/09/2013 21:29

Private scan was all good x dates matched up with mine! Feel so relieved now!

Now if I didn't have the beginnings of tonsillitis and ear ache, I would be dancing x
