Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

Finally have a scan date for 5th December!! It's my first day back at work from mat leave! Oh the irony
Great scan news ladies x Grin

Trinpy · 26/11/2013 11:30

Great news on the scans everyone!

I've been in loads of pain since the weekend, my hips ache so much and by the evening I can barely walk. I'm on annual leave atm, no idea how I'm going to cope being at work next week - 12.5 hr shifts on my feet all day Sad .

Trinpy go on line and take look at a web site called The pelvic partnership. They have loads of advice on ways to to cope with hip and pelvic pain.
I found it invaluable in my last pregnancy.
Also mention it to your midwife at your next visit as she may be able to get a physio referral.

LightTripper · 26/11/2013 15:52

Hello Trinpy! Just wanted to send hugs - I put my back out at the weekend. Could hardly walk on Sunday, yesterday graduated from shuffling to a sort of walking - quite a bit better today though stil sore. Hopefully yours might improve too or is it not getting any better?

I've booked to see a pregnancy physio next week, as my back has always been tricky and I'm worried that it will happen repeatedly given it's started so early, so will report back if she has any good tips/tricks/exercises (though sounds like our pain may be different sources, but more info can't hurt).

Good luck xx

Trinpy · 26/11/2013 19:19

Aw thanks Light. I hope the physiotherapist is able to help you. I've had problems for over a month but it's always been when I've been working and it wore off after a couple of days. It's just constant now.

Thanks for the info Patsy. I will check out the website now. Will be giving my mw a call tomorrow to ask her advice, can't cope like this for another month.

Vikkijayne2507 · 26/11/2013 20:57

hello all I had a hellish day yesterday. driving out of county car in front slammed on the breaks and I went into back of them. only doing 5 -10 mph so hardly any damage. I was all shaky and then got a dull ache in abdomen. police and ambulance happened to be driving by to another accident right at the time. I was taken to hospital got a scan in a and e baby fine but moving like crazy likely to do with my stress levels. I was then stranded in a different county no money or phone as id run out of power. called mum using hospital phone who called oh who had to drive an hour and a half to me. horrible day

ChaffinchOfDoom · 26/11/2013 21:31

oh what a shock, vikki glad you're ok now and all ok with baby. very scary. I hate other peoples' driving, got cut up twice today on way to dc's football. hope you have a relaxing evening.

pgp site is interesting, thanks for that.. have mentioned to my consultant but he gave me calcium tablets & said that was always 1st treatment for joint pain during pg

Trinpy · 27/11/2013 14:23

That sounds really scary Vikki. What a horrible thing to happen. At least the baby is ok, you must have been so worried.

I've been referred onto a physio. Hopefully won't have to wait too long for an appointment! Dreading work next week, but I'll just have to see how I go.

patsy375 · 27/11/2013 18:52

Glad to hear you've got a referral Trinpy.
Did you have chance to look at that web site?
Hope you're ok Vikki, how scary for you.

wendle70 · 27/11/2013 21:44

Hi ladies just been catching up on your news. Congrats on all the scans and yes i can't believe how many boys there are (including my LO)! Nhs scan is next Tue but after having heard everyone's positive reviews of private ones, am wondering whether we do that. We did the private 12 week scan and know the baby's gender but this is a pretty important test so i want them to take their time. Hmmn.

My LO moves around soo much! And boy my bump has gone crazy growing last week and this week. Massive difference. Skin as tight and hard as a drum and honestly look 7 months pregnant now I would say. Getting fat all over..my bum in harsh lighting now...yegads. No stretch marks yet but cellulite has appeared.

Working like crazy too and realising current job unsustainable at this level with kids. Hoping i can work something out. Oh and as i started my new job the day after i found out i was pregs, no mat pay! Luckily DH can support us.

Will post after scan next week.

Xx

Trinpy · 27/11/2013 21:51

Yeah I did patsy, thanks so much for telling me about it. Loads of information and advice on there, really useful. Nice to know it's so common and treatable.

prettyinpink90 · 28/11/2013 11:37

Hope you're ok vikki, sounds really scary. Glad to hear baby is ok!

I have my scan tomorrow morning, so excited but equally as nervous! Hoping we can find out the gender!

Hope everyone is doing ok!

patsy375 · 28/11/2013 20:38

Are you going to find out what your having?

prettyinpink90 · 28/11/2013 21:06

Thanks trinpy and patsy, I'm so nervous... won't sleep tonight! Yes we are hoping to find out the gender so will report back after my scan tomorrow.

BeansAndCheese · 29/11/2013 07:53

Has anyone intentionally not found out the sex? Everyone seems to have found out if they can on this thread, but I thought it was fashionable to not find out now. People say things like it will be a lovely surprise on the day etc. I didn't find out last time (legs crossed) and I admit it was a lovely surprise, but that still didn't stop me finding out this time, not to mention I'm pretty sure I saw a penis before the sonographer pointed it out.

Just wondering, it's a personal choice after all.

BeansAndCheese · 29/11/2013 08:00

Good luck today pretty btw.

prettyinpink90 · 29/11/2013 11:02

Thanks ladies!

Just back from our scan and it's a girl (well 95% sure) and she's doing just fine!

20 weeks today!

Trinpy · 29/11/2013 11:03

I don't think I could have coped not finding out the sex, dh and I were both getting very impatient just waiting for the 20 week scan! Its made it all so much more real knowing that we are having a son and being able to call him by his name already. My brother and sil are also expecting their first and chose not to find out the sex. My sil's reasoning was that it takes the focus off the real reason for the anomaly scan, though I don't really agree with that. I think it's nice to keep it as a surprise though, if you have the patience!

Trinpy · 29/11/2013 11:04

xpost.

Yay!!!!! congratulations pretty! about time we had another April girl to balance out all these boys.

Misty9 · 29/11/2013 12:55

Congrats on scans people. Good news for us too, our little girl is just fine with all four heart chambers seen :) another scan in couple weeks to double check, but there are no concerns. She's obviously going to be a handful, causing this much stress already!

Let the pink shopping commence Grin
