Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

Whoop 21 weeks today!
Private gender scan tomorrow, cant wait.
How is everyone feeling? Im a tad tired and if I had a pillow on my desk I would be snoozing! Roll on 5pm!

nevergoogle · 22/11/2013 18:41

all is well. baby is looking lovely and healthy.

difficult consultation with registrar due to his very strong accent, but got through all the questions once we'd 'tuned in' to the accent. all booked for elective c-section (probably 8th April) with the option of trial of vbac if labour starts before 39 weeks if i want it.

just so relieved that all is well in there, considering the crappy nutrition since week 10. amazing, amazing, amazing.

prettyinpink90 · 22/11/2013 19:44

Great news on your scan never Smile are you keeping the gender a surprise?

BartBaby · 22/11/2013 21:36

Just wondering if any of you lovely ladies that have had your 20 week scans already, have had 'liquor level' - low?

I assume that's low amniotic fluid. The sonographwr didn't mention anything about it but I've read a few things on google and it can be a bad thing.

nevergoogle · 22/11/2013 21:51

we did find out, but not ready to share just yet.

bartbaby, I'm sure they would have mentioned if they felt it was significant at this point. try not to worry, and ahem, nevergoogle.

patsy375 · 22/11/2013 23:23

imnotsure I had my scan at 18+4.
My consultant likes to do it a little bit early just in case he picks up any problems.
Did you have your scan today?

Vikkijayne2507 · 23/11/2013 01:40

can't say I know about liquor level. we had scan today and it was all ok and sonographer said there are the legs all three of them. it's a boy! I felt a bit dazed still sinking in im having a baby and it's a boy

LightTripper · 23/11/2013 07:56

Congratulations all! I am a bit envious as my 20 week is still a couple of weeks away! Though I know as I get closer I am going to start to feel really nervous.

Have had a full on couple of weeks at work, am knackered! Am starting to show, which feels a bit weird, but nice in a way as I feel more pregnant. Sickness continues to improve slowly. Only threw up twice this week, and suspect it might have been less if I hadn't been working so hard. Never mind, such is life.

I think I may have felt LO move this week which is lovely! I'm still not totally sure it's not gas, but I tend to only get gassy in the evenings, and have started to feel some small movements when lying quietly in bed in the morning, and lower down, so hopefully that might be baby Smile

Can't believe how many of you are having boys! My little girl is starting to look like a bit of a rarity. Need to get your pink fairy dust out again pretty!

Hey everyone
Hope you're all well :) we couldn't find out sex as baby kept legs firmly shut and squashed against belly! Thinking to get a private scan done but in two minds x
Serious mood swings todaySad poor DH lol x

badfurday · 23/11/2013 18:38

iloveweetos - same thing happened to me on my 20 week scan, really disappointed. I have just come back from a private scan and to be honest, it was much better than the NHS one.

Found out we are having a little girl!

patsy375 · 23/11/2013 18:55

Another girl at last!
Welcome to team pink badfurday

wheetos its worth getting a private scan if you really want to know the sex of your little one.
They are able to spend more time with you than NHS sonographers can, so they can keep trying until you get your answer.

iloveweetos · 23/11/2013 19:00

So something made me look at my notes of the scan and it says sex not requested! Both me and husband were abit dissatisfied with how the scan was done. Felt very rushed and can't pin point it. Just not how previous scans were. It seemed as though she just wanted to get out of there (understandable being 530pm) but do I say anything? She hasn't even signed my notes. Don't know if I'm overthinking! :/

iloveweetos · 23/11/2013 19:01

Oo congratulations on a lovely little princess xx

badfurday · 23/11/2013 19:25

iloveweetos - I felt exactly the same. I work for the NHS and am so pro NHS and sing their praises. My 20 week scan was just before lunch and I swear she just couldn't be arsed and wanted to go. The private one was much better, she was more attentive and asked me to go for a walk to get the baby to move for better pics. Have the NHS given you a new date?

Thanks Patsy - ;-)

iloveweetos · 23/11/2013 20:16

We have a scan in February but not a rescheduled one. Should they have given a second one?

LeeHandy · 23/11/2013 22:08

hello everyone! am checking in from the Caribbean where it's incredibly hot but beautiful. DH and i are so glad we're getting the opportunity to do this holiday before baby arrives. I am 22 weeks today.
thank you for the wishes blessed, patsy and light!

It's so good to hear that everyone has had a good scan so far.
I can't wait to go back and start picking baby things though I plan to hold off on buying stuff until the January sales.

badfurday · 24/11/2013 11:43

iloveweetos - On our first one they managed to measure everything but the heart and tell us the gender, so they just re-booked us for next Friday.
I'm just completely inpatient and wanted to know the gender, hence the private scan, they also measured the checked everything on the private one and she was much more proactive in getting the baby to move around. I was jumping and told to walk about a bit which did the trick!

Misty9 · 24/11/2013 15:13

Hi all, haven't been on for a while. Had 20wk scan and it was so detailed and much more interesting than I remember ds's being. It's a girl! Amazing because it's the first for my family and girls are unheard of - also more expensive as we won't be able to use ds's stuff. Dh is thrilled :)

Unfortunately, the sonographer couldn't get a good view of the heart and we've been rush referred to fetal medicine for a specialist scan on Tuesday... So it's tempered our excitement somewhat and I've been trying to stay away from google... and failing

Fingers crossed all is ok, the waiting is horrible :(

LightTripper · 24/11/2013 16:37

Hope the wait goes quickly for good news on Tuesday Misty!

I have buggered my back. Coughed while going upstairs last night. Can now barely move :-(

Imnotsurehowtogetthisout · 25/11/2013 13:16

Had my scan on Friday and all well with the baby. Such a relief because I hadn't felt any movements. Since then I definitely felt movements in the evening. I think knowing my placenta is anterior I was more aware of the movements on either side. Didn't want to find out the sex so team yellow still.

On another note I got my self so nervous I was shaking on the bed. I don't event know why. Been advised to stay away from the internet again. Going to start some meditation too!
