Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

Hi, I'm due April 18th with my first and all of this is new to me, including mums net. Does writing this mean I've joined the April 2014 group?

nevergoogle · 10/11/2013 18:27

yeah, you just pile in Bubba. No formal joining process.

I've had a nice weekend. Lovely saturday with lovely friends.

And today have had a family vote on names with the children and we have a shortlist.

18+1.

And hello bubba!

patsy375 · 10/11/2013 19:13

Just had to ring in sick for my night shift.
Been having period type pains with back ache and tightnings for the last few hours Sad
Currently resting in bed praying it will all stop.
Have been fairly busy today so hoping its just that I've over done it and this is my body's way of telling me to sit down.

nevergoogle · 10/11/2013 19:17

Rest up Patsy. I had this the other day while having a shower. Had to have a lie down to recover for a while.

prettyinpink90 · 10/11/2013 19:32

Beetle tightnings and period pain stopped this morning just some annoying back ache left.
Thanks for asking. Thanks
Under strict instructions from Mr Patsy to sit with my feet up and do nothing today so who am I to argue! Brew
Don't feel bad about buying a few irresistible bits for your babies. Its one of the few pleasurable parts of pregnancy. Smile

purplesonnet · 11/11/2013 10:40

Hi everyone.

Room for another? I'm due on 18th April, hopefully find out if it's a boy or girl on the 26th Nov. It's been so awkward at other scans though I'm doubting we'll find out lol

This is my 3rd, dh' s 1st. My youngest is 12 now though so this feels like I'm starting from scratch. I can't remember my stomach always feeling achy and stretchy with my others.

I'm considering having a home birth, as anyone else had one?

Hope everyone is starting to feel more human lol

Hi purple and bubba.

I am planning a home birth this time. Its no.2 and had a hospital birth last time. They were very busy and it was a bit of a conveyor belt with over stretched staff. Was told I would get loads of support with bf and generally how to look after a newborn etc, but no one had any time. I have one2one midwives this time, so hopefully be a bit more supported!

I have a scan tomorrow. Hope baby has their legs un crossed this time. Mummy wants to know what colour to paint!

Beetle the whole idea fascinates me Grin will one suit one colour more than the other! will you consider all of their clothes shared, or stick strictly as to whose is whose... and naming them! if totally identical, will you see which name 'feels' right for each, or do you have a 1st name for the 1st born etc Smile

dutchyoriginal · 11/11/2013 20:49

Hello everybody, haven't read the whole thread yet, but would like to join in too! I'm 16 weeks today, EDD 27th of April, one day after my own birthday and my dad's is the 25th. Would be funny if we could make it three days in a row.

This is my 4th or 5th pregnancy, with DS now 3 and a half. I've had 2 confirmed MCs and one suspected, so this pregnancy was quite nervewrecking. However, all the scans (3 so far) are positive. :-) Last week, I also heard the heartbeat, which was lovely.

TMI-alert
I'm thoroughly fed up with the nausea by now, though. Got nauseous exactly 2 weeks after DTD, was nauseous on and of for 2 weeks and then, from 6 weeks on, I've been nauseous 24/7. Fortunately, my GP is lovely and has prescribed medication since week 7 or 8, which means I can keep the nausea under control by eating enough also 24/7 and vomit about 2 times a week. Without medication (I tried it twice for 24-48 hours), I'm nauseous AND I vomit a couple of times a day. :-(

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

dutchyoriginal · 11/11/2013 21:05

Oh, and I'll be having a hospital birth. Planned a lovely homebirth, with birthing bath and all, and then, during birth, midwife discovered DS was breech. Went to hospital, tried for a vaginal, but in the end DS was born via EMCS. So no more homebirths allowed. Hoping for a VBAC though, I always think since CSs are in the top 3 of heaviest abdominal surgery, I'd rather avoid them. Anyway, will see what the doctors say at the end. Smile

Cannotbelieveit · 11/11/2013 21:35

Welcome Dutchy!

I'm due 26th April with dc2

My DS was EMCS and tbh I found the recovery fine and I've never had any other surgeries. Felt normal within 2 weeks.

The Consultant said today at the moment it looks like I could try VBAC just need to see closer to the time
