Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

Ladies, I know a few of you have spoken about tall maternity jeans but does anyone know where I can buy some petite maternity jeans? I'm really struggling to find 29" leg, they seem to unavailable everywhere. My current jeans are getting tighter by the day!

bundaberg · 07/11/2013 13:45

have you tried next or dorothy perkins for petite maternity?
or buy regular and get them taken up?

princess... i didn't find out the sex for my first 3 babies. i really liked finding out when they were born.
i am going to find out for this one though, just for a change, and also as my eldest is autistic and struggling with the whole idea of having another baby in the house, so thinking it'll help prepare him!

when I was pg with my last baby i started a thread on here about finding out. those who hadn't were 100% happy with their choice, not a single person regretted not finding out.,
those who had found out were about 99% happy! I think there were 2 people who said it was a bit of an anti-climax just being told by the sonographer, rather than having the excitement of giving birth and then looking for yourself.

if you aren't sure then i wouldn't. personally.

with regard to buying stuff, you can get some lovely unisex bits, and once baby is born you'll be inundated with gender-specific clothing etc so from that point of view i don't think it's that important.

pretty I am having the same problem with jeans! I've tried on about 15 pairs and none fit. They are all too long, and are therefore not skinny where they should be or anywhere really but the next size down are too tight round the tummy. Asos do different lengths but it's a pain in the bum ordering them and having to send them back when they inevitably don't fit! If you find any please let me know Grin

bLooming2 · 07/11/2013 17:53

how did your scan go patsy was in a pink or a blue Grin im struggling to decide whether to find out or not so hard xx

mamapants · 07/11/2013 18:10

Anybody found anywhere that sells pretty mat dresses got a wedding next month!
Bump isn't very big at the moment just looks like I'm a bit bloated. But am sure that will change in 6 weeks time.

Anybody else not announced pregnancy at work yet? I hate making announcements will have to though am 15 weeks today.

pretty and bart I will try and check where I got my mat trousers to check leg lengths.
I definitely bought a pair in new look which weren't petite but did fit fine on length and as last pregnancy was summer I have quite a few 3/4 styles. I think maybe got shorter length ones from gap and Dorothy perkins maybe.

BartBaby · 07/11/2013 18:18

Thanks mama I've tried the new look ones and they fit terribly. With ds I had some topshop ones but even they don't seem to fit right this time. I've ordered a pair of asda ones a size down. The first were fine on the tummy but too baggy in the legs. I bet the others will be ok on the legs but too tight round the tummy! I may have to just accept that I have to have skinny jeans that just aren't skinny! Grin

Not sure on dresses though I'm afraid. Luckily I have one that's tight under bust and then loose over bump so still fits quite well

mamapants · 07/11/2013 18:59

Have just checked my maternity clothes from last time and turns out I didn't buy any petite ones Hmm which is a bit odd as I'm 5'1. I guess I had trouble getting hold of any. Although most of them were 3/4 length. I don't think I actually started wearing maternity till I was about 6 or 7months gone. I think I wore lots of leggings and smock dresses.
Am still fitting in my normal clothes for now. And have a few things in a size 8/10 from after pregnancy so will be able to move onto them before getting the maternity clothes out.

Had my detailed scan this morning. Pleased to report that all is well re vital organs, placenta fluid etc.
Also thrilled to discover that after having 3 gorgeous sons we are now expecting a girl! Smile
This is the first time we have found out the sex before birth.
We chose to do it for a number of practical and financial reasons.
princess I don't think finding out makes a difference to how you bond with the baby during pregnancy and there is always that chance that it could be wrong.
I enjoyed the suprise element of not knowing, and think it made the labour a bit more exciting.
Of course today has been very exciting for us but I do think it will take some of the shine off her birthday as the only piece of news people will be waiting for on the day is her birth weight.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 07/11/2013 20:30

people do go nuts to find out the gender, don't they! Grin

how are y'all managing your FB with friends/fam dropping the news before you potentially, re the birth??

ChaffinchOfDoom · 07/11/2013 20:31

yay patsy you've done a beckham! Grin 3 boys and now a girl, how lovely for her to have 3 big brothers....shame for her future boyfriends though!

bundaberg · 07/11/2013 21:39

Hello all! Sorry things are hard for you never, glad you are getting all the help you need and are taking what you need to xx

No flutters here yet I don't think. I sometimes wonder but it's nearly always just followed by gas so I guess not!

Still feeling better, though evenings still a bit tough and lost dinner the last two nights, . Never mind. Hopefully not long to go, and in any case it is bearable now given my days are so good and I have a bit of energy back!

Hey, I'm still waiting for the recommendations on which antidepressants may work. Had a lovely chat with my GP yesterday who understood when I said that taking meds may increase my anxieties about causing withdrawal or respiratory problems for my baby. Having gone through respiratory distress, group b strep pneumonia and septicaemia with DC1 and the feeding problems associated with all that, he seems to understand why it's not a decision I can make lightly.
He's happy to keep me signed off work while I do some CBT, perhaps to help me come to terms with not functioning at my usual level. It may be that removing the stress of work, I may not need to go back onto medication until after the baby arrives.
Of course, not being at work makes me feel crappy too. Thankfully I've been in the job for a couple of years and was in line for promotion so hopefully I've proved myself to be worth the hassle I'm giving them right now, although I think any hopes of promotion are scuppered.
Meanwhile DH is making more effort to find work that pays properly so that would help to give me more choices.

Congratulations patsy on having a good scan and that it's a girl! I am getting a bit nervous about my 20 week scan on the 13th - I hope everything will be okay as we plan to go on holiday on that weekend and I don't want anything to go wrong.

pink gap also does shorter jeans which are 29 inches long. their maternity collection is only for online ordering though.

Hey everyone. I'm due on 4/4/14 and am 19+1 today.
My bump has popped over the last week and finding maternity wear so hard to find. I went to Lakeside yesterday and the only shop that stocked it was Debenhams who has a small section in there Red Herring part. Managed to get some work trousers and thats it. For skinny jeans I have just bought a size up which seems to be working ok at the moment.
Finding sleep hard at the moment as I just cant get comfy, have felt a few flutters/twisty feelings too.
I have my scan on the 14th, excited and nervous!

Vikkijayne2507 · 10/11/2013 02:14

I've had a few flutters I think and at 1 point felt like a roll. but it's hard to tell it's my first so not really sure
