Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling too great vikki. Hope you feel better soon!

I've had a constant tension headache for the last 4 days.g

Sorry to hear you're not feeling too great vikki. Hope you feel better soon!

I've had a constant tension headache for the last 4 days which doesn't seem to want to shift. Got some 4head strips today to try so hoping that they will help.

We gave in and bought the nursery furniture. Mamas & Papas have a 30% sale on until Monday and we managed to save £800 on the three piece set that we wanted. Wasn't planning on buying it until at least Christmas but it was such a good saving we just couldn't miss it. The MIL also bought us a Moses basket and saved £70 on the original price.

Hey everyone, so sorry to hear some of you are still feeling crap. It doesn't help that the cold weather is coming and bugs going round... Had a very interesting week last week with DS and his daddy both being sick, was very lucky not to catch anything myself but absolutely exhausting looking after a sick 11 months old - I had no idea it was so all-consuming. No doubt it'll be the first of many this winter :/

I've been feeling so much better, the sickness is finally gone and today for the first time I had tons of energy so I got all my maternity clothes out of storage and put my regular clothes away. Everything is now tidy and organised, lovely feeling! I told my boss about the pregnancy this week which I think has made me accept it is actually happening, plus my bump has popped out big time in the last couple of days - there's no denying it now!

I can never help being superstitious, I have a MW appointment on Tuesday and think "I hope everything's okay, now I've told more people about it and got all my pregnancy clothes out...". Fingers crossed... If all is okay I will tell the whole office on Wednesday (it's getting hard to contain the bump under my suit jacket!!).

Hope you're all keeping well, enjoying your lovely bumps rounding up and shopping for baby stuff!

xx

caz I'm the same, I can't help but be superstitous but I'm trying not to let it ruin it for me. I have my midwife appointment on Wednesday and quite nervous, I just want everything to be ok. Really hope that she listens to the baby's heartbeat!
Hope everyone's having a fab weekend!

Cannotbelieveit · 03/11/2013 21:52

Dare I say I felt a bit less sick today?

15+1 Grin 11 days til private scan!

LightTripper · 03/11/2013 22:18

cannot, me too! And yesterday! Not perfect, but both pretty good. Friday was vile though, so not counting my chickens yet. But still, good days are so much nicer than bad days... And two in a row! Maybe maybe maybe it's taking another step better

well after posting about my lack of bump the other day I seem to suddenly have gone pop!
i'm sure i still just look a bit fat to most people Grin but at least I Know it's a baby lol (well, and cake, but mostly baby)

catameringue · 04/11/2013 10:41

My kitchen was smelling less horrendous until dh bought Scotch eggs.

BlessedAssurance · 04/11/2013 10:43

pretty i had the most painful cramps on my right side as you described yours. I could not breathe and the pain was so intense. Thankfull after about 10min it went away but i have taken today off work just to get some energy. The pain left me so tired and out of energy. Hope all is well with you.

vikki that sucks. Hope you will better soon.

I am so excited about my scan on thursday. Still not sure about finding the sex though because with DD it was a huge lovely surprise after hearing everyone and convincing myself i was carrying a boy. I thought the doctor had made a mistake and switched my baby with someone else'sGrin.

18weeks todayGrin how time flies..

BlessedAssurance · 04/11/2013 10:45

bunda same here. One day i had a sixpack, the next i looked like i had eaten too much spaggetti(sp)..

BlessedAssurance · 04/11/2013 10:58

my little one is kicking like crazy too, reassuring...

patsy375 · 04/11/2013 14:54

pretty the midwife will definitely listen to your baby this week, don't worry.
A friend of mine asked if she could record it on her phone and played it back to her husband later as he couldn't make the appointment.

bundaberg · 04/11/2013 18:19

i'm feeling really rough this evening.

seem to be much better during the day now, but 4pm onwards I am SO tired and feeling yucky.

JUst the time when I need to be cooking tea and getting the hcildren in bed

please let this pass soon! I want the "blooming" bit to start lol

ChaffinchOfDoom · 04/11/2013 19:02

this mid trimester is a nicer place to be for me. sickness calmed a little, as long as I'm careful with the drugs, a cup of tea tastes OK again, having a daytime nap whenever I can fit it in! such an effort getting vertical again though, I loathe getting out of my lovely comfy bed in the morning...
Bit of hip pain, PGP starting, kind of sciatic, so am being careful with how I sit, hard chairs make it unbearable.
Best of all Ive had energy to do stuff with the dc over 1/2 term, lots of walks around the parks etc. Am starting to get excited, making lists of what to buy, luckily my best mate is lending me her moses basket, and having my sister's cot, so just need to buy the matresses and linens. Awaiting a definite sex before buying buggy as want a very definite gender colour, blue for boy or purple for girl... if it's visible at the scan then great, but if not I don't mind waiting to find out!
got 20 week scan on 12th, just over a week squeeeeeeeeeee
19 weeks tomorrow

bLooming2 · 04/11/2013 22:20

hi everyone had midwife today feel a bit upset by them I had a student midwife in with actual midwife and she did my urine dip test :s and said something was high and midwife said we dont really look at that bit and the student said but isnt that a sighn of dehydration ivr had sicknes really bad headaches so now im wondering if maybe student was more right then midwife im looking at this as they have been taught up to date methods also heartbeat was to faint to get a reading little bit worried now am I being silly sorry to moan x
17 weeks

BeansAndCheese · 05/11/2013 07:12

Try not to worry blooming, it hard for them to even find a heartbeat at 17 weeks. Silly midwife could have explained the dip stick seeing as it had been mentioned, even if she didn't think it was important. Probably not uncommon for pregnant women to be dehydrated, with allthe sickness. Really bad when midwives leave you feeling worse rather than better

BeansAndCheese · 05/11/2013 07:26

Scan 1 week today! Hope I get to find out the sex this time! Last time little monkey had her legs crossed!

prettyinpink90 · 05/11/2013 13:40

blessed glad i'm not the only one. hope you're doing ok now?

Thanks for the reasurrance patsy. I keep getting quite anxious about everything so looking forward to hopefully being able to hear the heartbeat.

It's exciting to know that our 20 week scans will soon be upon us. I still have three weeks till mine and counting down frantically.

Does anyone have any cravings? I hadn't any until about a week ago and now I can't get enough of the Maoam sweets. I could happily eat them at 6am at the moment.

LightTripper · 05/11/2013 13:55

Had my 16 week appointment with my GP today. She did listen for heartbeat and managed to find it - which was lovely - but she did say at this age they can still move around a lot, so if they're in the wrong position sometimes you can't find it, so not to worry if she couldn't find it.

Hope you're all doing well xx

BunnyBump1 · 05/11/2013 13:58

Hi All, I am new to this forum, quite a late comer ;-). I am 20 weeks pregnant and got a scan on Friday. Very excited :-)

LightTripper · 05/11/2013 19:55

Hello Bunnybump, welcome to the thread!

patsy375 · 05/11/2013 20:40

blooming sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your midwife. Has she written anything in your notes regarding your urine test?

bLooming2 · 05/11/2013 20:52

thanks for reassuring me everyone and no she put nothing in my notes really im under consultant care this time so im hoping I can have my appointments with them instead of my local midwifes I had a bad time with them last time so hopefully will not have to see them much Smile just want my scan now xxx

patsy375 · 05/11/2013 21:24

Even if you're under consultant care blooming you might still have occasional appointments with them so please dont let them intimidate you. You have every right to ask them what they are talking about when it involves you and your baby.
