Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

I have been wearing maternity wear since the start, more or less. My tummy has gone really round. There is a good chance I may just be getting very fat though.

LightTripper · 30/10/2013 16:01

Mine is weird, I seem to have got quite flabby round the middle without actually putting any weight on. Clothes still fit, though I'm tall so have always tended to wear trousers/skirts quite low to make them long enough. I wouldn't call it a "baby bump" though because it's very squidgy and I suspect made up almost entirely of biscuits and cheese...

catameringue · 30/10/2013 16:43

Massive tum here. Lovin my h and m maternity jeans. The top stretchy fabric is a little loose but so comfortable!

I look 5 months pg not 15 weeks.

Also not enjoying being pg. I am and was desperate for a dc. But I hate the feeling ill, medical conditions worse, no energy, I hate the attention and there's more I could whine about. If one more person in rl tells me I should enjoy being pg then I'm going to flip.

LeeHandy · 30/10/2013 22:43

beetle I take the train into London everyday so I hope the badge works. I thought I could get it over the counter but it seems I have to fill in a request for one.
Vikki I forgot to mention, I have sharp pains if I turn suddenly especially when I am lying in bed. seems pretty normal I think!
I took off my boots today and found my legs were quite swollen with the socks leaving deep marks. ah, the joys of pregnancy! Grin

Yikes!! I know one of my tall friends swore by those belly belt things you can get. Might try that first! Luckily for work I generally wear a dress with a jacket, and it think those should last me a good month or two before they look too weird.

Bodeccia · 31/10/2013 10:00

I've been in maternity clothes for about a month Blush I just couldn't stand any tightness around my stomach so I bit the bullet and got some stuff.

I'm tall too (5'11) and I didn't get anything from long tall sally (too expensive and I'm not mad about their style). I got mat jeans from new look (£20), they go up to 36" leg if that's long enough. I also got some smart black (i.e. boring) trousers from new look too, again about £18. I got a couple of tops from jojo maman bebe, I had a voucher. I don't care what I wear at home, but I have to be smart for work.

My next purchase is shoes or boots. Bit worried about the swelling foot issue, but I can't keep wearing my ballet pumps through the winter, and heels are out.

beetle (and anyone else expecting twins), join TAMBA, you get loads of advice and 20% off clarks if that rings your bell. Membership is £2.25 a month, so totally worth it. I'm going to get my shoes this weekend, they have 20% off with a tamba card until 4th november.

Morning ladies!

I'm not in maternity wear yet, although my jeans are starting to get tighter so it won't be long. Starting to feel much rounder around my stomach now. Quite looking forward to having a proper bump Smile
Is anyone else getting mood swings? I'll be absolutely fine but then I'll have an outburst of rage or I'll start having a little tantrum cry over something really silly. Hormones eh!

BeansAndCheese · 31/10/2013 13:44

I have had some awful mood swings (poor dh), but they seem to have settled down now. I don't remember being so hormonal during my first pg, but we've had some extra stress this time which is all settling down now. I feel for you pretty, it's awful to feel crazy for no particular reason. Especially in my case when dh (who recovering from some awful health issues recently) just looks sad and waits for it to pass. Bless him.

Actually Bodeccia is the star! but I totally agree! top tip! am going to check them out!

Misty9 · 31/10/2013 19:33

Hi all,
I'm also tall and rate new look for maternity wear. Have been in mat clothes for weeks now, but have a job interview tomorrow so need to wear something which minimises my bump! If my boobs were bigger it would be less noticeable I think... Grin

Anyone else get hideous heartburn? Worse in the evenings, and that's my only time to myself :( on the plus side, I felt pip kicking today again :) I was trying to focus on what a patient was saying though!

had a bad day had to leave work due to dizziness and headaches

LeeHandy · 31/10/2013 22:28

I agree about new look for tall jeans. I picked a pair (that is still too loose) and I think it's much better than the overpriced stuff at long tall sally.
gap has some tall styles on their website only for online ordering as well.
I bought a long dress from isabella oliver but got cold feet and returned it because I thought it was too expensive for something that I am going to wear for just a few months.Blush

I can feel baby everyday now...Grin

misty - I've had a couple of heartburn incidents at weddings recently and took gaviscon after checking their website. The liquid sachets are handy to carry around.

For the first 13 weeks I gained 0.8 lbs. I'm 15 weeks and now up to 5lb gain! 2lbs a week is normal, right?!

wendle70 · 01/11/2013 11:36

Hi ladies just coming to the end of a few days in centre parcs with other half's two girls. Lovely time though tiring. Being with two little ones was quite good I think as had to concentrate on them and not how rubbish I was feeling with the sickness. Which seems to be improving...not been sick all week now though still feel bit sick in evenings. In some ways I think being away from home has been good..i feel a lot less comfortable vomiting away from my bathroom and i think having to hold it in a bit has poss given tummy a rest. The test will be whether it returns when am back at work next week. Hope this is encouraging for you ladies still feeling sick. I felt so despondent with it last week...

Vivid dreams too yes definitely.

Bump size...I am actually a little worried as it is enormous! I was quite slim (ish) to begin with but my goodness now I have a bump which if in tight top looks 5 to 6 months?!! Very obviously prego naked. Putting on weight elsewhere too..face, thighs...it's scaring me a bit and don't feel v attractive! Plus the new pregnancy acne isnt helping! Might go to dermatologist next week as making me feel crap.

Oh and been wearing maternity clothes since about 11 to 12 weeks...Seraphina wrap dresses for work and Primark maternity trousers (ridic Humpty Dumpty style fall off) and larger size skinny jeans. Was size 10 pre preg then went to 12 and now grown out of them and in size 14s for tum now!
Scary!!

We told OH's two little girls this week and I was a bit worried how they'd react but they have been amazing. So cute! Always looking out for me making sure I am ok and comfortable and asking about the baby! They are so excited to have a baby brother bless them.

I think at 15 weeks or so the babies start hearing our voices and seeing light outside tummy which I am excited about! Thought I felt a flutter too but prob gas! Still haven't bought a thing...

Right sorry for long post!

Have a lovely weekend and really hope sickness eases for you (and doesnt come back for me!)

LightTripper · 01/11/2013 18:04

Ooh, I was wondering if she would hear me! Very exciting. Will have to start to watch my language Wink

My sickness is really on a seesaw at the moment. Sometimes (mainly mornings) much better and sometimes (most evenings) as bad as ever. But much easier to deal with emotionally as I do get some respite.

Am going for a ladies' weekend to Venice in 3 weeks, so that is my next recovery target (think I will be nearly 19 weeks by then, so I'll be unlucky if it's still sticking around ... Fingers crossed).

LightTripper · 01/11/2013 18:17

How do maternity clothes work for sizes by the way? I'm usually a 12, so if I go for 14 maternity will that work, or do I need to keep getting bigger sizes as I get more pregnant? I find it all very confusing!

patsy375 · 01/11/2013 18:56

light buy the same size maternity clothes as you were pre pregnancy.
Always worth investing in some good pieces as you will need them for a little while post delivery too.

Vikkijayne2507 · 01/11/2013 20:21

hey beetle I didn't go to work still dizzy. went to doctors and they said I have viral infection had a long name but basically causes vertigo. so have to take it easy and no driving until it passes

LightTripper · 01/11/2013 20:35

Thanks Patsy! I have a wedding to go to about 3 weeks after my due date, so will deffo still be in maternity gear then! Think I might start to get a few bits in the next few weeks so I'm ready. Luckily I have a lot of dresses, so they should see me through a little while yet...

LightTripper · 01/11/2013 20:46

Hope you feel better soon Vikkijayne

Vikkijayne2507 · 02/11/2013 15:53
