Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

wendle70 · 11/10/2013 09:39

Good luck with all the scans today ladies xx

wendle70 · 11/10/2013 09:42

Ps i caved in and saw the doc about an anti emetic but turns out he has prescribed me metaclopromide which is one of the least researched ones (according to light's very useful pregnancysicknesssupport page) and the patient information leaflet says do not take in early pregnancy! So i wont be taking that! Going to see if he can prescribe me the more researched ones so got them on standby...it's just nice to know they're there. Am hoping wont need to take them.

bundaberg · 11/10/2013 10:38

back from my scan! all is well, little thing was wriggling away Grin

all seems a bit real now

Vikkijayne2507 · 11/10/2013 10:44

Yay Bundaberg it does feel more real after scans doesnt it :)

prettyinpink90 · 11/10/2013 11:09

Fab news about your scan bunda isn't it amazing to see them wriggling around!

LightTripper · 11/10/2013 11:57

Thanks all! Back from scan. All looks good still. NT only 0.8, and baby girl moving around and everything present and correct as far as they can tell at this stage! Sonographer was lovely, not rushed at all.

They aren't going to do the other tests, as I'd already had Panorama which is more accurate. They obviously hadn't seen Panorama before (not surprising, think it only appeared in my clinics options in the two weeks between me booking and actually going to the appointment!). But they were familiar with Harmony. Sonographer did need to check whether to still do the blood tests though, so they don't see it THAT often I guess.

So now this weekend is announcement weekend! How are you guys all doing it? I'd really like to tell my parents in person, but worried that by the time I got there I'd risk announcing by throwing up, so think I am going to tell them on the phone tonight and then see if they have time to come for lunch one day at the weekend. But is it terrible to tell by phone? Then we were just going to tell siblings and closest friends, and just let things spread naturally from there. Suspect our news will be a shock to a lot of people, but hopefully a happy one! Still a bit nervous about the whole announcement thing though...

Good luck to all the other scanees!

12+2

LightTripper · 11/10/2013 12:23

Congrats on your scan bunda!

wendle, I have a feeling that's what I was given too. I'm afraid it didn't do much for me, so I only took 4 in the end then gave up! I actually think when you're feeling that bad sometimes it's better to actually be sick, but nice to have the option anyway.

CazInLondon · 11/10/2013 13:21

Whoop whoop Bundaberg and LightTripper! Have fun sharing your news over the weekend :)

wendle70 · 11/10/2013 17:10

LightTripper yes good point I agree the only relief is the being sick part. Going to hold off meds for now. Havent actually been sick today although always worse in the evenings but maybe just maybe it's easing...

congrats on the scans ladies! glad they went well. In my 10 week scan i saw it moving around so much was soo weird and made it much more real (and lovely). can't wait till next Friday's full proper scan is over and I can totally come out of the pregnancy closet with everyone!

I have been rubbish at keeping it a secret though - have told most family and friends already but this weekend we're telling my OH's family as we're staying with them and I can't hide the puking any more! With the puking and the prominent bump there is no hiding it for any longer anyway...have good weekends all with your lovely news :)

Cannotbelieveit · 11/10/2013 18:26

11+6 Grin

BindiBarbarella · 11/10/2013 18:31

Congrats to all other ladies on their good scans today! I also have good scan news :) I have a very wriggly baby! It was so surreal seeing it like that! Sonographer couldn't quite get the NT Measurement accurately but said she was sure it was fine from what she could see. I'm so relieved. Hope everyone has fun spreading the good news - I've had a lot of squeals over the phone :):) xxx

Nessalina · 11/10/2013 18:38

Hey ladies, sorry to bring the thread down, but scan did not go well here Sad
NT of 9.3mm and lots of fluid in baby's chest around lungs. Doctor said it looks likely to have a severe heart defect, and they don't usually see babies with this much fluid carry to term, less than 10% chance.
Absolutely gutted. Back for more tests on Monday to let us know cause and prognosis with more accuracy, then I guess we'll have some decisions to make.

BindiBarbarella · 11/10/2013 19:04

Oh Ness I'm so sorry to hear that. Can't imagine how you must be feeling :(:(:( Lots of love to you - take care of yourself xxx

Thanks ladies. Emotional turmoil here, but trying to stay positive! Some good support to be found on the antenatal test threads, so gonna mooch over there for a bit, and I'll keep you posted with any news. Best wishes for continuing happy healthy pregnancies for all of you xxx

LightTripper · 12/10/2013 11:01

Good idea Ness. Thanks for keeping us posted! I would much rather know than just see people disappear and worry. Fingers crossed you get some good news and are in the 10pc xxx

LightTripper · 12/10/2013 11:06

Slightly weird thing on my measurements yesterday. When she first measured, she got 68mm. She then re measured and got 62, which she seemed happier with. And then on my actual print out it said 60, which is the right size for my dates. I wonder if that is pretty normal if you are close to the right size for your dates, and there is no point moving just a couple of days?

Anyway, I'm perfectly happy with it. We actually know our dates within a couple of days either way, as we only tried when I thought I was fertile, so it can't be far out. But then when they say measurements are a more accurate predictor than conception dates at this stage...makes me wonder how meaningful that actually is!

Trinpy · 12/10/2013 17:30

Thinking of you Ness. Sorry you have to make such a difficult decision.
