Hello ladies.. the previous thread is almost full so I thought it's time to move on to a new one to mark the start of trimester 2. Here's to fewer bouts of sickness and more "glowing" all around!

caz i have been reading some comparisons between the vista & the cruz and several people said that though the cruz is lighter and narrower the suspension is quite hard and so the vista was a more comfortable choice. Did you feel this was a problem at all?

Vikkijayne2507 · 09/10/2013 21:47

sorry to hear that geranium

CazInLondon · 09/10/2013 22:24

Really sorry about this sad news Geranium, make sure you and your DH take care of yourselves and each other...

LeeHandy, haven't personally found the suspension to be a problem, yet we go to the park a lot and some of the pavements in my area are quite bumpy. DS doesn't seem to mind! I find it easy to "drive" and steer around, even one-handed. I also forgot to mention, the handle's height is adjustable so my OH (6'3) can push it just as comfortably as I can at 5'7.

Any decent shop should offer you the option to test drive the models you're interested in!

xx

LightTripper · 09/10/2013 22:25

I'm so sorry geranium. Love to you and Mr DG xx

LeeHandy · 09/10/2013 22:38

caz we plan to go to one of the large stores and try them out as well. did you buy the optional carrycot as well? the adjustable height is definitely important as I am 6' and dh is 6'1". so far I like uppababy (though not sure yet on vista vs cruz) but am still reading up on other brands as well. if I can find something cheaper that ticks the boxes, I will buy it happily.

I had 2 days this week where i was sick in the morning and am now 14 + 1 weeks. Keeping hearing HB on doppler and its getting louder and easier to find in the last week. I also have a bump that appeared this week but it seems quite big. ive not been eaten more than usual or changed anything so i think it must be uterus moving up and pushing everything out and making way

Cannotbelieveit · 10/10/2013 09:03

I have the scan tomorrow too! Got no one to look after DS tho so gotta hope he sleeps so hubby can actually come in with me!

Sorry to hear your news Geranium.

I spent Tuesday and yesterday vomming with migraine. Migraines are fun now that I can't take anything for them.

I understood 2nd trimester is 13 weeks so maybe we have one more bad week and that'll be it?!

Someone said I was unusually big. I haven't put on any weight yet. So that was nice of them.

CazInLondon · 10/10/2013 09:56

Hey LeeHandy, yes I did get the carrycot but DS outgrew it quite quickly, by about 4.5-5 months I would say (though he is quite tall, taking after his daddy!). I think one advantage of the Vista over the Cruz is that the carrycot is larger (but don't quote me on that, it's just an impression I got from seeing them on the street and comparing the size to mine. I'm sure the size difference will be quite clear in the shop).

I have my scan at 3pm today! Equally excited and scared (to have another baby so soon... that they will find a problem... Aaaah!). Trying to tell myself, like I did when I had a MC before, that if something happens it just wasn't meant to be, but it's such a tough thing to go through; my whole heart goes out to the ladies here and their partners who are facing this horrible ordeal...

xx

CazInLondon · 10/10/2013 09:57

Oh and also meant to ask, any scan buddies out there having theirs today, too?

xx

ThedementedPenguin · 10/10/2013 11:57

Hi again.

You fell off my TIO. Not that I post much.

How's everyone today?

LightTripper · 10/10/2013 16:06

Catameringue.... Just Shock at that comment!!

I am also slightly lighter than I started, though slowly getting back there. To be fair, by the evening I do look pretty much like a heffalump, but then deflate back to my normal shape overnight Smile

Hope today's scans went well! Mine is tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it I think.

12+2 (and still vommy)

BindiBarbarella · 10/10/2013 18:47

Such sad news Geranium take care of yourself Thanks :(

Hope all the scans went well today and good luck for all tomorrow! Mine is at 10.30am - I'm equal parts excited and terrified at the moment. Seems like there are so many things that can go wrong :( I'm sure everyone else is worried too. Best of luck ladies! xxx

LeeHandy · 10/10/2013 19:23

It went well, thanks LeeHandy :)

One little surprise for us, going by LMP I thought I was 12+2, but it turns out I'm actually 13+2!! Which explains why I got pregnant in the first place (turns out it was conceived on the day after my period finished, when we thought it was safe to fool around with no protection... Well there is never a safe time, apparently! Sorry if TMI!). It would also perhaps explain why I've been feeling SO MUCH better the past couple of days, no nausea and tiredness, hurrah!

Was hoping to hide my pregnancy away for a few weeks when I go back to work from mat leave next week but now everything's been pushed a week forward, I think I'm gonna have to be very shrewd indeed...

Hope everyone else is doing okay today!

xx

LightTripper · 10/10/2013 20:05

God news on your scan Caz! So, 13 weeks is my new non vom target. So glad you are feeling better (not only for selfish reasons!)

Misty9 · 10/10/2013 20:17

Hi all

So sorry to hear your sad news daft :( hope you've got good support around you.

I'm afraid I'm another one bursting the bubble that is the myth sickness goes away at 12wks dead on! 14 weeks tomorrow and still feeling blurgh. Tonight everything I eat is leaving a hideous taste in my mouth, which makes me feel sick. But if I don't eat, I feel sick. The joys. I'm also unbelievably shattered all the time.

It's weird, my bump seems smaller these past couple days - but I can't fit into my work trousers anymore, so must be growing! Annoyingly I seemed to start off fatter in my last pregnancy so all my trousers are a size too big. I'm only working until January so will have to shell out on mat trousers for all of three months. Grr.

Nessalina · 10/10/2013 22:05

Gosh, lots of us having scans tomorrow! Mine's at 3:30. Will look forward to coming on after and hearing how well they've all gone! Fx Smile

CazInLondon · 11/10/2013 07:45

Best of luck today LightTripper, Nessalina, cannotbelieveit and Bindi! What an exciting way to end the week, keep us posted :)

cannot - we took DS in with us and had his afternoon bottle at the ready, when he started to moan because he wasn't happy sitting still my OH gave him his milk and that helped keep him quiet and happy for a while. The scan technician said that babies often cry in the scan room because they are worried about what she's doing to their mummies!

Will be thinking of you all today!

xx

prettyinpink90 · 11/10/2013 07:58

Good luck to all you ladies having your scans today! Smile

Cannotbelieveit · 11/10/2013 08:07
