Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Big hugs to Falcon it sounds like the first doctor wasn't very sensitive. As has already been said, try to see it as a positive that they want to keep you in to look after you and definitely ask about possibilities of induction and see what they say. Have they examined you to see if you've dilated since your contractions got worse? Assuming they've stopped now Sad

I know you've not had a great pg and must feel really really fed up, but you are really close now and we can do hand holding until you get your baby in your arms. Flowers Flowers and a massive hug.

chickieno1 · 11/09/2013 04:04

Oh falcon so sorry you're having a hard time :(. You'll have baby willow with you very soon! I hope the docs have some answers for you in the morning. Flowers

tarlia hope you're ok. Are they planning on keeping you until induction?? Have they changed or upped meds. I guess they'll make a decision once they have 24 hr protein results? Any symptoms? How's your ds? Hope you're not missing him too much

Good you got sorted tucking but not so good that they put you through all that stress at this stage. Hope you can relax a bit now before baby comes.

Pseudo hope your BP stays down.

Flowers to all those whose OHs don't get paternity leave. We're using annual leave here but we ll need the time esp after CS.

Might not be able to post for the next few days but will try and check in re baby news and hospital treatments/appointments etc. xx

Wickedgirl · 11/09/2013 04:05

Oh falcon.......sorry to hear that you're having such a tough time. I wish I could give you a big hug and a bit of reassurance Flowers

I'm surprised that there are still no babies and that we are almost a quarter of the way through this new thread already!

MotherOfNations · 11/09/2013 04:08

Oh falcon I really feel for you. I wish I was there to give you a hug. You've not had an easy time at all. This will all be a distant memory when you have wee Willow in your arms.

MrsHoratioNelson · 11/09/2013 05:25

Well, i am in hospital, after a late night dash of a kind i didn't expect - i missed a step getting up to go to the loo and fell down 2 or 3 stairs. Fortunately, i fell sideways onto a half landing and was able to break my fall with my hands and i didn't fall on my bump, nothing broken but i have badly sprained my ankle. Just heading home now for some sleep if possible.

Hope the new mummies are enjoying their cuddles :)

PseudoBadger · 11/09/2013 05:45

Oh no MrsH! Hope you get some sleep :(

Falcon I'm so sorry you've had an awful time, I'm thinking of you xx

Iheartcrunchiebars · 11/09/2013 06:56

Oh no mrsh and falcon. What a rubbish night. Get well soon.

JellyCurls · 11/09/2013 07:09

Morning ladies I am SC but have been up all night with lots of strong BH, this is going to be easiest labour ever with all the practise my uterus is doing says a very deluded and tired JellyCurls

Sorry for your rubbish news falcon and hope ankle heals quickly MrsH

No baby news yet???

cuillereasoupe · 11/09/2013 07:11

Oh dear Falcon and MrsH - I hope you're both feeling better soon.

GT, I feel your pain - my MIL is coming here for an operation in early Nov and they initially wanted to stay with us from then until Xmas while she convalesces. I've made it clear it's not ideal (we already had them for 6 weeks in May-June when FIL broke his foot) and I reeeealllly hope they find somewhere else to stay...

Itchy ladies, cholestatis usually starts in your palms and feet but do mention it to your health providers to be on the safe side.

MrsO27 · 11/09/2013 07:18

Hugs to falcon too.
MrsH, I did the same on Monday, so can sympathise, but have really hurt my coccyx area as I went down on my backside (sprained my ankle at 7 weeks falling down stairs - am very clumsy when pregnant!), which leads me to ask everyone, are we allowed to use deep heat rub? Went to Boots yesterday for a hot water bottle and there were none (They do have a 3 for 2 baby event on though for those still to get stuff). Also, anyone hurt their coccyx/tailbone before do you know how long pain will last? So annoyed at myself. Should learn to take my time!
Hope your ankle heals quickly mrsH. The exercises the hospital give you do help once the swelling goes down.

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/09/2013 07:20

SC here (should be for a long while yet hopefully)
Oh no falcon, so sorry you are feeling so rubbish. I hope you can talk to someone more helpful or at least more understanding today and that you managed to get some sleep.

MrsH you are not supposed to go to hospital for other reasons! You got me excited for a monent! Hope you are ok and ankle gives you a reason to take it easy and rest. Flowers

So pleased you got mat pay issue sorted tucking. Absolutely needed to involve higher ups as they were being so useless.

GT you must be very patient and tolerant living with pil. I hope it doesn't work out being very stressful with the extra people.

Thanks for not judging on the christening issue. I also really want the child to have godparents (though choosing 3 from a possible 6 or 7 will be tricky!)

Argh I am very late getting up. Still in bed! Actually slept well for the first time in ages and did not get too hot. Good job as no time for a shower now...

Natalieand · 11/09/2013 07:29

I slept reasonably well too orsnge maybe something in the air? I think it helps that the night time temp has dropped a little

falcon I'm sorry your having such a hard time of it, the doctors sound very insensitive I will never understand why they don't just end your misery as you are full term anyway Flowers

legally...... Why are we waiting? Lol

pinkbuttons · 11/09/2013 07:36

Morning ladies SC here.

So sorry to hear they admitted you falcon and that your feeling so awful. make sure they are aware of how your feeling as I always think drs just like to go by numbers but really decisions should take your discomfort into account too. Hope your feeling better today.
How are you today tarlia

tucking so glad you got your leave and pay sorted and just in time!

Hope you managed to get some sleep mrsH what a nightmare!! Glad you managed to mostly save yourself though.

I have aggravated my lower back pain here, pushing DS uphill yesterday and felt a sharp click. now struggling to move so I think DS will be having a pyjama day, unless paracetamol helps.
Hope everyone slept well x

thethreeblondies · 11/09/2013 07:37

MrsO I got told no to heat rub or ibuprofen gel when my arm hurt, just advised paracetamol as usual!

Jelly I definitely think lots of bh helped me have a quick easy labour with DD2! So I'm actually looking forward to them!

Falcon So sorry to hear things aren't going great, fingers crossed you see someone more sympathetic today, just remember you will get lovely Willow at the end of this and it won't go on forever xx

Natalieand · 11/09/2013 07:41

Oh forgot to say SC at 35+2

mrso consultant said deep heat is fine if used sparingly and not on a daily basis x

Hope the paracetamol takes the edge off pink

JellyCurls · 11/09/2013 07:49

3blondies I had a two hour labour last time, 2 hours from 2cm and mild contractions to baby in arms that I think the BH helped prepare me for. But loads of people are now telling me that after an easy second labour they had a horrendous third

MrsHoratioNelson · 11/09/2013 07:55

Thanks all - some sleep managed so, all in all, not so much of a worse night than usual on that front... Ankle bloody painful though. They have sent me home with ibuprofen which is apparently fine in third trimester - I had already laid in stocks of paracetamol for after the birth - and I got a chance to test the breathing exercises they taught us at NCT classes Grin

HotSoupDumpling · 11/09/2013 07:58

Tucking - so glad that was resolved. Don't feel bad at all by escalating things higher up the food chain. Sometimes it's the only way to get things done.

Falcon - lots of handholding here, you have gone through a lot. Cake. When the baby is here this will all seem worth it, hopefully.

MrsH, get some rest, literally put your feet up! You must be exhausted!

Tarlia - it's good you are being monitored.

Ruby - hope the itching is okay and baby stays in a bit longer!

I also sacrificed GbBO and midwives for the mediocre England match, but will catch up.

Warlin · 11/09/2013 08:02

Oh no mrsH bad timing, hope you're ok and not in too much pain.

Sorry you're having a rough time falcon hopefully it will be over soon

legally dying to hear your news!

What is SC...have I missed something!!

thethreeblondies · 11/09/2013 08:08

Jelly I'm too trying to ignore the bad third labour stories, I find fingers in my ears and singing "la la la la la la la!" works quite well, I'm sure we'll do fine Grin

char1eston · 11/09/2013 08:11

warlin - check out the start of the thread. shire came up with some acronyms for labour.
SC=still cooking!

MrsO27 · 11/09/2013 08:17

Thanks, I was told hot water bottle and paracetamol. Paracetamol not really working though. It's frustrating all the differing advice depending on whether its mw, doc, pharmacist etc. you speak to. I guess some of them always err on the side of caution. It was the same with heartburn, I was told Rennies weren't allowed, but others told they're fine. Will see how it goes today but might use a little deep heat later if pain continues.
Hope all is well with legally and the twins.

Sparkeleigh · 11/09/2013 08:46

SC here, and I've just realised I've only 2ish weeks of work left, so excited!

Falcon, I'm so sorry, you've had such a rough time. If your vision is bad enough to be blurred and you have headaches, I'd second calling in another doctor or consultant for their opinion. The first one sounds useless. Flowers

MrsH - ouch! How lucky you missed your bump but ouch! Hope the painkillers kick in and everyone fusses after you!

pink Sad I doubt your DS will mind a pj day but I hope your back feels better!

GTbaby your MIL would be a saint if she wasn't stressed! Do you mean you and your DH will move in your mum for a while after the baby arrives? It sounds like a good idea to me! Plus, you can word it like you're doing your MIL a favour by taking some of the pressure off her to avoid giving offence...

I've put this question in the pregnancy section, but we're switching from oil central heating to gas and the plumber can't come to install it until 4 days before my due date - how bad could it be with no heat/hot water and a new baby? We'd have the kettle, electric heaters and a cold water supply to get us though the few days...

HeffalumpTheFlump · 11/09/2013 08:54

So sorry falcon! Sending you all the hugs in the world. Not long now Flowers

Mrso hope your ankle is ok! I keep tripping over the bloody cat on my pee trips, just waiting to go fully arse over tit!

Off to antenatal classes this morning, hope there will be baby news when I get back!
