Janey how many oz do you give him at 10pm and do you offer boob as well? I might give that a go once this storm has passed.

I was gradually moving her into her cot before it started hitting the fan, but have shoe-horned her back into the moses basket tonight in the hope that the familiarity comforts her and makes her sleep. She's also got a muslin in there with some expressed milk on it - I really am clutching at straws! Tbh I'd be surprised if she can smell anything at all over the gallons of vapour rub I've smeared all over her sleeping bag. Hmm

I normally now express just one boob in the morning and get about 120ml (is that 4oz?) and he usually polishes it off quickly - but then is full. On occasions we've given him formula there's been up to 200ml in the bottle but he usually only manages about 120, so I think it's the right amount for now. Often don't offer the boob because I've had wine he's had enough already....

Really hope you have a better night...

And ouchie about the yoga Hmm

Purplemonster · 26/09/2013 22:29

See I'm pretty sure it was wolfing down the expressed milk earlier that caused the spectacular sick. I think she ate it too fast as we've just swapped over to 3+ month teats. The greedy piggy had had both boobs then guzzled 2oz from the bottle. I should have known it was a bad idea!

Cavort · 26/09/2013 22:38

Blimey, and she has slow weight gain Purple? Shock Shock Shock

4oz per day expressed is definitely doable. Smile

Purplemonster · 26/09/2013 22:52

I think she's having a growth spurt, she's done nothing but eat for the last two days. She's not normally that greedy'

Alexandra6 · 27/09/2013 04:03

Argh I've been lying here for an hour not able to sleep! Did anyone else get third trimester insomnia?! Didn't go to sleep until nearly midnight so am going to be shattered for work tomorrow unless I can drift off but I'm wide awake at the moment. Keep thinking I'm feeling less movement the last couple of days from bumpy which isn't helping! Could just be it's facing backwards maybe?

Cavort · 27/09/2013 05:07

Alex I think the insomnia is quite normal, although that probably doesn't make you feel any better. I had it a bit but luckily not too bad.

Give MAU a call if you're at all concerned about movement. I think in the first instance they'll tell you to drink a really cold drink and lay on your left side for an hour, but they'll get you in for a trace if there's still not much movement. They won't think you're silly, all the ones at mine were lovely.

We're on wake up/feed number 4 here and no doubt there will be more before morning. Thank fuck it's the weekend so DH can help tonight.

Poor poor you cavort.
Miles was asleep by 7.30pm, and we woke him to feed at ten. He then slept through until 4.30, and was back asleep 20 mins later. He def sleeps better when he's had a decent lunchtime sleep oddly.
I, however, have been awake ever since. How bloody annoying.

Alex - yes, had insomnia at the start and the end. Really annoying Hmm As cavort said get it checked out if you're worried. Tbh I always had some days when he was less active than others, I think you just get used to your own babies patterns?

Cavort - good luck. Hope you get some sleep at some point Hmm

Alexandra6 · 27/09/2013 07:32

Finally fell back asleep for an hour at 6 and am now exhausted and could easily sleep more, but have to get up and face the tube! Four hours isn't enough, my eyes look all funny and feel a bit sick!

My phone app says reduced movement about now is quite usual as the space gets tighter in there and it starts to engage, will see what it's like today.

BelissimaLol · 27/09/2013 08:02

I had insomnia almost every night Alex. Especially with the heat. Found myself watching Jeremy Kyle eastenders I had recorded at 5am!
Question for all of you? How do you feel about us having a secret Facebook group in which we can share pics more easily? I know lots of people from work on MN and if one of them spotted me it would be the end of MN for me as most of them are horrible cows and would go back and read all my posts hence my reluctance to add photos.
Let me know your thoughts. We have done one for the other thread I join (the bfp grads) and it's been lovely Grin

Cavort · 27/09/2013 08:38

Am I awake or is this an hallucination? I'm not quite sure these days. Oh, where has my sleeping 4-5 hours between night feeds baby gone? She is completely full of cold so i'll cut her some slack but this had better not last!

Purple if Lucy has been mostly waking every 2 hours since birth you deserve some kind of endurance medal! I take my hat off to you!

Lol if you create a FB group i'll join it. What do I do to join if it's secret, PM you a link to my FB?

OP posts:
BelissimaLol · 27/09/2013 09:03

I have no idea how to create a secret group!!! Will find out and let you know what to do!
I'm so sorry your babies are giving you grief. Mine has been ever so good for the last 2 nights but I'm sure it won't last Grin

BelissimaLol · 27/09/2013 09:10

Erm my message disappeared!
Turns out the secret group is quite easy. It means nobody can see that we are in it or what we post. Only usGrinGrin
If you lovelies would like to join for some real life sharing please pm me your fb name and I will find you and then add you!

Cavort · 27/09/2013 09:18

A little earlier than expected, but I think this describes what's going on perfectly.

It says it can last 2-6 weeks. Shock I could be dead after 6 weeks of this. Sad

HazleNutt · 27/09/2013 09:29

I'm jealous of all those bottle guzzling babies, this one here will take 1, maybe 2 oz eventually, but that takes forever, as he mostly just plays and chews. when he used to take the bottle properly, he would drink 4 oz in minutes.

Cavort · 27/09/2013 09:35

I would happily swap my non-sleeper for a bottle refuser. Smile

How strange that he used to like it and has changed his mind. Confused

OP posts:
Purplemonster · 27/09/2013 09:50

I know what you mean about the hallucination Cavort, I've woken up a couple of times this week certain that I've fallen asleep whilst feeding the baby only to find that she's fast asleep in her basket and my boobs are all packed away properly. Very confusing. I'll PM you my address so you can post my medal ok? Wink she's not quite back to every two hours thank goodness but she's gone from sleeping from 12-4.30/5.00 to waking at 3am every day. My body is not pleased with this regression, my eyes are pretty gritty.

No idea how secret Facebook works but I'll send my name and hope for the best!

janey1234 · 27/09/2013 09:54

I'm up for a secret FB group. Have just PM'd you my name.

I now of course have the fear, as i did with my NCT friends, that you'll all look through my pictures from a year or two ago and decide I'm an irresponsible drunk and not suitable for motherhood... Don't judge me! Wink

Purplemonster · 27/09/2013 09:54

Oh and that wanker I live with OH asked me yesterday how she'd slept and I said she'd been up 3am until 4am then woken up at 6am for 45 mins and he said 'oh that's not too bad then' so I deserve a medal for not violently assaulting him as well. I don't even get a break at the weekend so I'm very impressed that your DH steps up and helps (and a bit envious).

janey1234 · 27/09/2013 10:00

Ah cavort I've been dreading the four month sleep regression.

That routine book has suggested it's partly because they don't eat enough in the day - because they're older the look around and get distracted etc. she bangs on about getting loads of food in during the day and before bed. might be worth trying the big expressed bottle at night? Not much to lose in trying it?

MotherOfCleo · 27/09/2013 11:20

Just popping in to share the surprising news that my boss is being a cock. Sad Angry

Just had a meeting as need to do some new projects for 2 of my main clients, had the other account manager their who will be taking over my role as well as 3 designers. My boss basically spent the whole time performing for the new manager and trying to make me look crap. It pisses me off as everyone in the office knows I am good at what I do and some are really sad I'm going on ML.

I don't know why he has to do it. Plus he has led them right down the garden path, the client will hate the direction he wants to go.

I feel for all you sleep deprived ladies!!! Sad Sad If I helps I didn't sleep due to my crap hips, serious ouch!!!

Cavort · 27/09/2013 11:49

I obviously don't know if that's what it definitely is Janey, but summat is definitely afoot. Either way it is totally shit.

Yes tonight we're going to try a big bottle of expressed at 11pm and see what happens. She's been feeding little and often with her cold as her nose is blocked so I don't know how well it will work. We might have to wait for her cold to pass before we give it a proper go.

DH said this morning that he thinks she settles off to sleep much better for me than him (which I don't agree with) so bedtime is all his tonight while I either go to bed at 7pm or drink a massive glass of wine - I am undecided which of those I currently want the most.

OP posts:
Cavort · 27/09/2013 11:50

Mother you sound like you'll be well rid of that prick when you finish for ML.

OP posts:
Purplemonster · 27/09/2013 11:54

Massive glass of wine. Definitely.

You have my sympathy Mother but at least you'll be rid of him soon.

MotherOfCleo · 27/09/2013 11:56

Sorry for the moan but he really knows how to wind me up Sad
