I heard avoiding underwire was best so I think that's what I mean my maternity bras - any that don't have underwire. I remember you saying about those clips, will scroll back and look, although I might just invest in a nursing bra anyway if I can find reasonable ones that are comfy.

HazleNutt · 24/09/2013 17:20

If you find it more comfortable, sure go for the non-wired ones. I don't, they don't offer nearly the same support and as said, as long as the bra fits, wires are fine both during pregnancy and nursing.

In other news, had the skin prick test done to figure out what I'm allergic to. No reaction to anything Confused . So they're doing more, fancier, blood tests and in a couple of weeks will do skin tests with the actual food instead of the testing stuff. Until then should still avoid all seafood and nuts. Fun.

BelissimaLol · 24/09/2013 18:16

Oh what a pain hazle!
By the way cav I bought those sock ons and they are awesome!Grin
Lara still clingy after jabs but overall ok.
Who is next on due dates?

Cavort · 24/09/2013 18:17

I was just looking at this...
Timeline of a Breastfed Baby
...and this particular bit stood out to me. Can't think why Grin
"The greatest weight loss is seen in the three to six month period (Moody et al). You’ve just hit the start of this uber fat-burning period." Grin Grin

Lol can't you tell I know millions of people with babies who found out the hard way that they needed Sock Ons. Smile It's much easier when people have been there before you.

janey1234 · 24/09/2013 19:42

janey1234 · 24/09/2013 19:43

Mother she could - I skipped the queue a bit with Miles! Wink

BelissimaLol · 24/09/2013 20:07

Yeah that is very true cav. Nothing like others experiences to help us! I'm also looking forward to the weight loss which will undoubtedly improve with my mums departure

On that note, how long do you plan to bf for? And any views on baby led weaning???

BelissimaLol · 24/09/2013 20:08

Oh and 3 babies coming soon! Maybe then we will move to post natal GrinGrin

janey1234 · 24/09/2013 20:25

Oh and cavort - PLEASE let that be true!! I've just started a version of the 5:2 diet (with increased calories due to bf) as I have to shift some weight. I lost 5lbs in the two weeks before heading out to France... But then put on just under four whilst I was there. Bloody cheese and pâté! Still I was a greedy pig enjoyed my food whilst there and it was a nice treat....

Cavort · 24/09/2013 20:42

Janey I was very surprised at reading that as I haven't heard that before, but definitely FX!

Lol err, I don't know, i'm just seeing how it goes and no views as yet, I haven't even thought about weaning even though it's not that far off. Blush

Alexandra6 · 24/09/2013 20:49

Someone told me that too cavort - that's when she lost her baby weight! She also said it was partly down to loads of walks with the baby.

Eeeek on potentially being next! In fact eek about it definitely happening in the next couple of months! Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to meet my little bumpy, but the impending birth is suddenly feeling very, very real! Grin

Cavort · 24/09/2013 21:06

You won't feel like that by 40 weeks Alex, you'll be desperate for the birth to happen in order to get your body back!

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 24/09/2013 21:19

Im with you cav, Im already ready for him to come out. Blush Does that make me a bad preggo lady? Confused

Purplemonster · 24/09/2013 21:59

Cavort I pray that that is true, I'm at the point now where I really need to have more than two pairs of trousers I can fit in. I'm swimming once a week and if I can persuade my mum to get up at the crack of dawn to provide childcare I'm hoping to go back to my yoga/Pilates/tai chi class but some effortless weight loss would be very welcome!

Quodlibet · 24/09/2013 22:00

I'm quite enjoying the wiggly baby being inside at the moment (28+3wks here), apart from when it woke me up with a start from a nap earlier by violently poking me where my hand was resting on the bump! The little bony feet/elbows feel so weird!

Hazle I can't remember if I told you, but my grandad had a violent reaction to seafood once (he used to live by the sea and eat local cockles/mussels all the time) and they reckoned it was a polluted batch. He never reacted again after that as far as I know. This was well before the days of allergy testing btw. I'm just wondering if you had a reaction to something the seafood had been contaminated if the seafood itself is not showing up as the problem. Must be very frustrating not to know though.

Purplemonster · 24/09/2013 22:02

Oh and I'm totally up for trying baby led weaning. Chucking some food on the high chair tray and letting them get on with it sounds like my kinda thing Grin

janey1234 · 24/09/2013 22:24

So I know nothing about weaning, except that it happens from about six months. Do I have to read about it am far too lazy or will one of you lovely ladies tell me what to do?! Wink

Hazle - missed your post somehow. What a bugger. Hope they get to the bottom of it soon...

Purplemonster · 24/09/2013 22:35

From what I can tell Janey, you offer them small pieces of finger foods and hope for the best. Disclaimer - it may be slightly more complicated than his but I can't be arsed to read up on it either.

Cavort · 25/09/2013 06:03

Aaargh, Elodie has woken up every 40-50 mins since I put her to bed at 8pm last night, and she is soooo grumpy/overtired - I can't believe this is the same baby that was sleeping 12/13 hours with 2 short feeding wake ups only a week ago. She was never this bad even as a newborn, this is the worst so far by far. I am praying this is a developmental leap and will pass in a few days. Words can not describe how shit I currently feel and DH is away tonight so I will be alone with this hell. Sad And then if/when this passes there's the 3 month growth spurt to look forward to. Sad Sad

HazleNutt · 25/09/2013 07:04

oh poor Cavort! Hopefully it's just one night.

Mother that's interesting, what was the reaction like? I've been sick from dodgy seafood before, but not like this, with swollen lips and tongue and hives all over.

as for weaning, I'm planning to do the baby-led as well. Having a couple of big greedy dogs to clean up everything is a bonus.
